blackmarlin
This place, not far from the dock for Samui, is not well known but it is really nice. The coastline with beautiful beaches fairly wild:
Tywais
Have to admit I thought this topic was going to be photos of candy and sweets. Very nice photos and looks like a great place to visit. Reminds me a little of Pattaya in the late '60s, pristine.

Few people know this place yet it is only thirty kilometers from Don sak. I will publish the photos of the surroundings, a small report for nature lovers. Lovely shots and area Blackmartin .... and welcome! ...... but you'd be better off posting in beaches or other suitable topics, or will get lost very quickly I cannot imagine Pattaya ever looking like that! Tywais! not that I have ever been there or ever want to go there..... I've only spent a few hours around Khanom, but it's one of those places so close yet so far from Samui/ Donsak, that one thinks ...."oh I'll do it next time....." of course one never does!!!! Actually, the ideal would be to have a report section in the forum but I have not seen. As I mentioned before are not only beaches, here is a boat trip to see the pink dolphins and the islets in front of the fishing village where you can rent a boat typical local (longtail):

blackmarlin
In these photos you can see the inland areas where there are rivers, small waterfalls, caves, very extensive rubber plantations:

Hi , I was in Khanom a few days ago to visit one of my brother in law who is working in the new electric mill which is building by a thai-japanese consortium ; another face of Khanom , maybe some of us will prefer Pattaya ( my joke ); There are many resorts and sea food restaurants in Khanom

samuijimmy
Well I think we can safely say Khanom is now on the map!.... I know there are a couple of other members in the general area... perhaps they will have more to add! I was waiting for ASTX to add his, knowing he had just been there! Penny just dropped on Tywais's comment about sweets! Main street of Khanom town! A couple of beaches.... wishing now I had spent more time!!! One of several places to stay in the area! (these I have posted in the Southern Thailand forum, which sadly is not a well read part of TV.... ) Edited October 25, 2015 by samuijimmy
schondie
Beautiful place, the wife and I have spent some time there. Great photos BTW. It's been a couple of years since we last went there so it's good to see that the place is still not overdeveloped.

samuijimmy
Off course Khanom and Samui (and KP) are very well connected..... that is where our electric comes from... This was the new underwater electric cable arriving in Maenam Samui from Khanom .... in Feb 2013 Not wanting to throw the thread off..... but it's a good connection! Yes, several places in Khanom to stay, I dropped into the area to take a boo, as I always have free lodgings when I head to Songkhla!!! I just happened to take a pic of that hotel! Chonburiram
...Actually, the ideal would be to have a report section in the forum but I have not seen. ... Now, that would be great! SJ's idea to pin photostorys, a la the "Remote" topic from a well missed member was nice at it's time... but now, it hangs there like an unburied corpse... I would have posted my Amulet capsule maker sequence in a Report Section, avoiding cluster the "Up the workers!" thread, SJ could do a work in progress project from his garden there, many other activities could be posted in a section like this...
