A suicide bomb attack in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu has killed at least a dozen people.

The Al-Shabaab Islamic group attacked the Nasa-hablod hotel, telling police that “apostate members of the government” were visiting it.

After the explosion its fighters stormed the hotel and shot at people inside the building. Security forces then overwhelmed them in a gunbattle.

The wounded were rushed to a city hospital which put out an urgent call for blood donations.

Al Shabaab frequently stages attacks in the city, in its aim to overthrow the western backed government.

This attack came as Muslims hold their fast in month of Ramadan in Somalia and worldwide.

Al Shabaab has staged attacks before during Ramadan, targeting places where people gather to break their fast.

lf thats how they treat each other, how can we ever expect them to respect our institutions?

And of course, do-gooder western Govts & organisations just keep pumping money into these places.

Leave them alone to get on with it & stop interfering.
