Carpet supplier? New or Used?

Does anyone know of a carpet supplier, preferably in Mueang Chiang Mai?

Or is carpet (and underlay) rare and expensive in Thailand?

Mostly wanted for noise abatement in a long term rented bedroom (and potentially other rooms), so the plastic stuff at global isn't really suitable.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It's rare because the level of humidity can easily lead to mould especially if the carpet gets wet.

What noise are you subject to? Is it your own (downstairs complaining about loud music) or somebody else's

Good point.

Both sources really. Some noise absorption of traffic and the drunk flash packers continuing to party in the street for hours after the illegal night club closes. But also to reduce footstep noise on the wooden floor that transmits beautifully to the massage shop below. Apparently not the peaceful sounds they are after :)

For those finding this post later I did visit this place. Good directions by the way. It wasn't quite what I had in mind though as it is actually what I'd call a "rug shop". Persian style in more affordable and washable acrylic.

While I actually want wall to wall carpet, I did see a rug that I liked (and I'm not usually into persian). It is about 2.4 x 1.6m and getting on for 5,000B. That should give an idea of what to expect.
