  1. Thanks for the advice, it seems it really depends on the immigration office. Here in Phayao, they are pretty strict compared to the other places I have dealt with. I just though me going there might make things worse. I was thinking as the worst-case scenario of going to Laos later on before extension, I assume Viantiene still does visas right but only by appointment? Singapore says they only do it for nationals of Singapore. I really hope it just goes through without an issue, but highly unlikely. May I also ask, if we leave on this retirement visa and make new one, I assume we need to make Non-O retirement again right, or like tourist across the border would work?
  2. No unfortunately he doesn't. Only has one bank account, we had 800 there then dipped to under 700, right now it is at 600. We are transferring now in segments.
  3. Hello everyone, I really really need an advice. Me personally I have been on working visa since 2016, so I didn't have much experience with retirement visa. My dad came over in September last year, we put 800k into bank account and in December extended his visa. I helped him with the forms (because he can't see well) and dropped him off at the immigration and went to take kids to school. When I came back to pick him up everything was done, the lady office told me. Please do not go below 400k and next time we will need a 12-month statement. Yesterday I was going through his documents just to see what's what, I notice this paper that he signed that said 800k after extension must not be touched for 3 months! The problem is I just saw this paper yesterday and literally 2 weeks after extending his visa, he bought a scooter so he can commute around. What should I do now? I have no idea. I wish they would have said so to me, when we extended. If I go and talk to them, will they just suddenly say that his visa is cancelled, and he must leave? Or that he overstayed? Next renewal will be in December, I don't know if there are any options that we have like leaving the country and making a new retirement visa? Our immigration here in the small town is pretty strict and very meticulous, when it comes to paperwork. Can any please give any advice on the best course of action, I really feel like if he has to leave, he will go back home, which would be heartbreaking for me.
  4. Well, that's what they told us. I think there was a paper they gave us that they wrote by hand, not sure if my dad actually has it, but still. If they deny it and the visa can't be extended, we are really screwed. He was already very surprised by the amount of small little things here and there, so this would totally put him off.
  5. Wait a second guys, this really worries me and something is not right. I went with my dad to do his retirement extension in December last year. This was his first extension since arriving here. We did it in Phayao immigration (they were open for 5 years but still say they are new). I specifically asked the lady who extended the visa about money. The ONLY thing she said and wrote on paper is this: You can use your money after extension but make sure it doesn't go below 400k, you need to make sure the money is all there before you extend the visa. And we will need a bank statement for 12 months. Thats all. Now we have touched the money after visa extension, but it never dropped below 400k. So what does that mean that he won't be able to extend this year in December? This is absurd, surely there must be a way.
  6. Hi everyone I have a few questions about extending retirement visa for my dad here: 1. Does it have to be any particular type of account? Regular, savings or fixed savings account? 2. Long long time ago for my marriage visa I used fixed savings account to get decent interest, but now that you need to leave 400k after extension I am not sure how it will work or if it will work at all. Does money need to be automatically taken out once let's say 4 months fixed savings account is reached the date. 3. The lady at KTB told me foreigners are not allowed to earn interest, which sounds absurd, not that it matters much but that lady was wrong about so many things in the past. 4. Any advice, preference people have for bank of choice? KTB, SCB, Krugsri, Kbank? Thank you.
  7. Greetings everyone, I am trying to help out a friend and wanted to ask a few questions especially about visit the wife 60 days visa. Now my friend was on the marriage visa prior and unfortunately did not have enough funds to extend it. He then left a country and came back on visit wife 60 days visa per entry, if not mistaken it is allowed to be used twice a year and each can also be extended once, so apparently 2 visas pe 2 extensions am I correct here? Also, can I ask he go out on a land border but comeback on a proper visa? So, in short, he used 2 visit the wife and 2 extensions on those and 1 30-day extension if I am correct so far. What would be the best option for him to go about now? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  8. My dad is coming here and I am trying to organize him a retirement visa. Since when that 400,000 must remain in the bank account started? This was definitely not the case. What is the reasoning behind this keeping 400k in the account, apart from hoping that the person passes away and they keep the money. What happens if you take it out and then put back 800k prior to extension? Will they cancel your visa immediately or just not extend it next time?
  9. I highly doubt any of these people had real military combat experience (including the army), the amulets of course will protect. However, where were all these volunteers in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria AND MOST importantly Palestine or YEMEN where genocide takes place. Oh yeah, afraid of sanctions or cross path with uncle SAm or Israel. They have zero understanding of this conflict. They will be surprised what national battalions are up to it's either do what you are told or get shot on the spot.
