  1. Mike: there may be a legal requirement to file a tax return but currently there is a practice that for certain people(retirees) the RD do not require them to file tax returns. What you keep doing is trying to persuade the tax dept to stop their practice and go after people who until now have not been expected to file tax returns. I understand u are neither a lawyer or tax expert and are self-taught. And u seem unable to grasp the differences mentioned above.
  2. Seems you have direct experience so I appreciate your posting and likely will not bother to put in a TM 30.
  3. You are quite right. I meant to say I need to be treated at a BKK hospital. The treatment is out patient (cataract) and I may need to return to the hospital the next day hence stay at a hotel overnight.
  4. Probably yes but not definitely. I intend staying at a hotel near to the hospital as its out patient treatment, So does anyone know for sure if a night or more away from Pattaya requires a new TM 30?
  5. Soon I may need to spend a night or two at a BKK hospital, I live in Pattaya and that is where I am registered for TM 30. Will I need to do a new TM 30 after my trip to BKK from Pattaya or no need? Thx any advice.
  6. Be glad to know the precise Visa each member of the family is applying for...and then which exact Visa if any they each are given.
  7. I suggest you contact a respectable agent who can give you some advice.
  8. Warning issued to Revolut customers after more than £200,000 stolen from two accounts A warning has been issued to Revolut customers after takeover scammers stole more than £200,000 from two accounts. Both victims saw their accounts targeted by fraudsters who passed the digital bank's selfie security checks just days apart, according to Which?. The consumer watchdog said one of the victims was on the brink of bankruptcy after £165,000 was taken from their account, while the other had lost more than £40,000 in 10 minutes. The criminals pretended to be part of the Revolut fraud team, calling about suspicious activity and passing a series of security checks to hack into the customers' accounts. Which? said Revolut investigated both cases and would not refund any of the losses because its multi-factor authentication checks were completed. Revolut has told the victims it will not refund the money, according to Which?Reuters This included the use of a selfie to gain access to the account, a security code being entered after it was sent by text and a login from a new device after an email was sent to a registered address. Revolut told Sky News it was aware of a "recent increase" in advanced account takeover scam attempts, and it was "deeply concerned" by the number of crimes being committed using fake phone calls. "We are sorry to hear of any instance where our customers have been targeted by ruthless and sophisticated criminals. Each potential fraud case concerning a Revolut customer is carefully investigated and assessed independently of other cases," it said. It also said it was "continuously strengthening" its fraud controls to stay one step ahead of new trends. 9. Sounds a bit bogus to me. Maybe it was competing with Gaza and Kiev 😄
  10. I use Wise, I live in Thailand and they say their debit cards not available here yet. Can I get a debit card from Revolut? I can use a relatives address in the UK.
  11. Yes I agree completely. A practice exists not to impose income taxes on foreign retirees under certain circumstances. That practice has NOT changed. Yet some foreigners have mistakenly submitted tax returns which are not necessary and a few of them are now trying to suggest to the rest of us we should do the same. And of course the revenue dept lap it all up. Dear oh dear!
  12. Mike Lister: Please tell us your qualifications to give advice on Thai tax law? Answer: None at all! And stop posting ludicrous misinformation . Get a life please.
  13. We are now into 2024 and no one reports any such thing. And I do understand downstream.
  14. Thank u for your helpful post. Now I have been away for a few times and for a few days (BKK to Pattaya stayed hotel). I have no idea if the hotel filed a TM 30 for me. I thought if I in BKK on retirement extension and away from my permanent address in Thailand for a few days to another place in Thailand then no need to file anything with CW immigration?
