Just got back to the UK. Didn't see more than 20 mins at Swampy - the bit where Brum score first.

Saw the back pages at Heathrow where Wenger says that the players have got to take responsibility.

\err .. no on-field leadership, comedy goolkeeping, suspect defense - yeah right Arse, not your fault mate :annoyed:

told yer that English cup finals are unpredictable

yep, have to agree with you there Mr Red, its going to be a tuff end of season for Wenger.

got to either win the CL aint going to happen !

win the league, not on present form. only if United get a couple of bad results.

win the F.A cup. beat the " 0s " and then United and thats only to get to the last eight.

think he is going to be doing a lot of looking over his shoulder ! with a possible outcome of leaving graciously under his own terms, a back room agreement, with a nice golden handshake or suffering a humiliating exit. which i wouldn't like to see, because he has been a great coach and manager. hes been our most successful, bought lots of honors to the club and most importantly got us playing football the way it should be played.

think there maybe a fare few more temper tantrums as the pressure mounts though !

These teams make me laugh. All through the early stages they play a weakened side as if the competitions are not important. Then when they reach the final, in come all the 150K a week prima donnas to grab the glory and if they don't they sit and cry....poor luvs.

News just in :

A brutal mugging was carried out in the Wembley area by a little known gang from Birmingham who set about an innocent, not to say naïve, group from the North London area out for an evening stroll in the park. Intelligence suggests that this was a pre-arranged 'rumble'. Anyone who knows anything at all about this Midlands gang is urged to contact the The French Embassy where the post mortems are being carried out. At least two of the effete squad went missing during the affray.

A key witness claims that he never saw it.

Unconfirmed reports suggest they may be part of a wider gang with another base in East London. More to follow hopefully.....:whistling:

Yeah - so Leyton are going to beat us tonight are they? The ole critical faculties take a bit of a knock when a Hotspurts fan thinks about Arsenal.

OK so I'm setting myself up for a fall? Not in a hundred years will Leyton win tonight.

you spuds really are a bunch of goons, aren't you ?

if you had read the post properly, you would have noticed that i had said " my how things can turn around in a couple of days " rolleyes.gif and i was referring more to the fact about United being beaten and that we now have a game in hand on them, being only 1 point behind and at the weekend they also have Liverpool away. but now that you come to mention it, yeah we did beat the 0s and now its up to Old Trafford and who knows what will happen now !

oh and for the record, when exactly did the spuds get knocked out of this years cup and what was the scoreline ? please remind me biggrin.gif shame that, what with the year ending in 1 and all that.

and yes we do have a tuff one away to Barca next week, but what makes you so sure the jobs already done against Milan. wink.gif

And I hope you win it if we are not there too! I am not a great believer in all this inter-fan hostility stuff - I've experimented with it a bit on these threads, but it doesn't sit comfortably with me personally.

I think it is highly unlikely that we will get past Barca with no vP, Cesc or Theo. Not impossible as I suspect Barca have peaked too early this season.

Tigerfish is right though about the change of fortunes. For the first time since early season the Premier League title is in our own hands and we are not reliant on other teams losing (except to us) to get there. We have a real chance - evens at least I would say. MU are more likely in one sense - they have the DNA for the final push and the big games but I suspect that this will be their downfall in that they will be in more competitions towards the end of the season than Arsenal. I do not think their squad has the depth or talent to run with 3 competitions to the end of the season. I expect that we can force a draw in Manchester in the EPL (but it's no disaster if we don't) but that we will lose the FA cup tie, leaving us with only the EPL to concentrate on.

All predictions are likely to be thrown off by the outside event of injuries anyway.

As I said earlier on the Reds thread, for the Man U v Arsenal FA Cup tie it's going to be interesting to watch the strategy. I suspect SAF is realistic enough to know that Man U could fall between stools with 3 competitions to the last. We could have a position where both Arsenal and Man U compete to LOSE that FA Cup tie. No doubt the die-hards on either side and the sentimentalists of the beautiful game like Singh would be throwing rotten goods at me by now, but you just watch the team selections for that game

Totally robbed of a win

That should have been a penalty. Clearly a push. Glaringly obvious

The offside I can accept was hard for the linesman to see from his angle

Sh*t happens..

The record Books will say it's another Season without a Trophy for Arsenal after bottling it in multiple competitions...

Bummer; we really are very ordinary without 4 key players. Annoying to suffer bad refereeing - I can't remember a worse season for annoying mistakes by the officials.

but most teams in the EPL are suffering it and Arsenal were part unlucky/part rubbish at finishing. Nasri, Arshavin and Bendtner really have to get back to the top of their game over the next 3 weeks or an outside chance of the EPL will be all that is left to us by the end of March.

We now need to win against Man U in the EPL (assuming they trash Liverpool as I think they will). That game is not until May 1st and we could be back to full strength by then (even Vermaelen?). So the EPL is far from over yet despite what the lads form the other side of the A10 would want you to believe.

Hell's teeth - think I'll give up trying to second guess this season!

All top 3 teams were rubbish this weekend - does anyone deserve to win the EPL this year? [Man City got the most but were lucky to get any]. Man U's superior goal difference courtesy of a very lean spell up front from Arsenal this year may yet be crucial.

Referees were even worse, the Referees Association needs to get a grip; I just don't see all this crass inconsistency and hopeless judgments when I watch La Liga and the Bundesliga. British refs used to be the best in the world.

Agree on the Ref thing, Bundesliga especially..

& no one seems to wnat to win the League this Year, Chelsea are the worst Chelsea side for Years it seems & Man United are too, without a doubt..

No one else has the bottle or nous to use that to their advantage though..
