I can highly recommend Meat Stuff on Soi 8 Theprassit. On the left if travelling from Theprassit towards Caddy Shack, in a soi by big 7/11. Pork sausages, bacon are superb, with no additives.
Made by an English butcher!

Where the three pumps with the blue pipes, pictured at the bottom of Soi 6 working? As they have not saved the beach there!

I have received goods from both sites, shipped out of the UK, US and Germany and never paid duty, even tho’ once I prepaid the duty, It was Immediately refunded after I made an enquiry about a proof that it had been paid or not.
Thank you for the reply. It's good to know. ????

If you go to the amazon website there is a message that they "are restricting products to your area due to COVID" I think they are prioritising things like alcohol sanitisers, masks and other things that are needed during lockdowns.
I ordered some stuff from both UK and US websites around mid March, and all arrived OK.
One has to bear in mind now that with people's movement restrictions, the whole shipping system is under stress.
If there is something you want, and it is available, go ahead and order. It might arrive quickly, but don't be surprised if it is delayed.
When ordering, you might even get a message saying "the item you want is not available in your region at this time."Atleast you will then know.

Hi. Have you been hit with import duties buying from the UK or USA sites>
Thank you.

For everyone doing 90 days reports.

At Jomtien Immigration (desk 4) they just want the TM47 form and the passport when doing the first 90 days report. After that you only show the passport every 90 days. You do know you can do the report 15 days early and 7 days late from the "Due date". The count starts from the Due date.
So, no TM47 form after the first 90 day report. Is that for everyone on extension of stay due to retirement?
Thank you.

You only need a completed TM7 form with one 4 X 6 cm photo attached for the application. There is no special forms only for retirement.
You can download, complete and print two sided this Fillable TM7 form.pdf
They will give you some additional local forms to complete at immigration that are not available for download.
Hi ubonjoe. No photo copies of the bank book, and letter from the bank, or are they happy they already have it from when you get the NON "O" retirement extension stamp?

Thanks ubonjoe and fishtank ????

It has never been required to for the 800k baht option.
Most people concerned about it is due to them wanting to use transfers to prove their income for their extension application. It is only need for that option.
So, you do not need to prove where the 800K comes from, just make sure it is in the bank 2 months before? and then keep it there.
Thanks.

Not for a extension of stay application.
It is only needed if applying for a non-o visa immigration.
Hi ubonjoe. Is this new? There were so many posts saying the money had to show as FTT International transfer, especially after some of the transfers with TransferWise were showing as Interbank.
Thank you.

2018 Black and Gray ABS version here (love it).
A must in my book (and my only real complaint about the bike in it's stock form) is to change out the puny little 4 Litre fuel tank and upgrade to a 8.2 Liter welded aluminum tank. 1 hour self install with just basic tools.
Bought mine from a trusted dealer in Bangkok who sent it same day via Kerry Express. pm me if you want more info on the tank or where to get one. (I am only a happy customer - no affiliation whatsoever).
Hi,
Does this bigger tank take away from the underseat storage?

I checked with him as well. That price was in Bangkok. You can't get any discounts in Pattaya. If anyone knows where tell me, i am looking to buy soon.
I asked the price of a standard version at Mityon and they said, if I recall correctly, BHT65,900. When I showed him the Yamaha web page with BHT64,400, he said "that is BKK price" I could not believe it, and had to stop myself laughing!!

Hi,
I don't suppose you brought it for that price in Pattaya did you? If so where?
Thank you.

You will need proof of the money in the bank. Copies of your passport photo page and entry stamp.
From the webpage I posted the link to.
Fantastic. Thanks again!

The first step will be to apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry at immigration. You will need at least 15 days remaining on your entry or the 30 day extension of it. See: https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_80
Then during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa you will be able to apply for the one year extension of stay based upon retirement.
Thank you Ubonjoe.
For that a TM87? And should I take any other documents?
thanks

Hi,
In August I will eventually be able to retire.
I did ask in 2014, yes, I have been dreaming about it so long , if it would be possible for me to arrive without a visa, just getting a visa exempt 30-day stamp on arrival and then applying for Permission to stay extension based on retirement at Jomtien.
Is this still possible, I will already have the money in the bank more than three months? The 30 days exemption can be extended for a fee if needed?
I put together a list of potential requirements/questions below and would be very grateful if ubonjoe or another kind and knowledgeable person can enlighten me. Thank you, and sorry to repeat what may seem as something asked many times before. I just could not see a topic quite the same as mine.
1. Bank book showing the 800k balance, same day as extension application, verified by the bank on letter, and photocopy of updated bank book pages (page showing my name and account number and page showing the recent balance update. Is it OK to get the bank to do this the day before so that I can get to the Immigration first thing in the morning?
2. Passport and TM6. Photocopy, just the picture pages on the passport and the page where the visa exempt stamp is? Does TM6 also need photocopy?
3. Evidence of residence. I can show my Thai driving license or utility bill, or chanote. What would be best? I will make photocopies of these.
4. Passport Photos, I’ll take a few to be sure
5. Fee. 1900 baht?
6. Completed TM7.
2 7. All photo copies signed and dated.
8 8. Completed TM30
4 9. Will a TM86 or a TM87 be needed to get the Non O or will they do this with my TM7? If so, should this be done before the above, or at the same time.
Many thanks to all

Hi,
Sorry, slightly off subject, delete if needed.
Is it possible to send the THB800,000 in 4 X THB200,000 as long as the total is in the bank three months before applying?
Thank you

What happens if you open a fixed deposit account with money taken from your savings account? How does the money show regarding source, as I believe it has to show as coming from outside the country!

Depends on if you can get a certificate of residence from immigration. I've read before that this is possible in Pattaya with a visa exempt, but you never know for sure if they changed anything, so you just have to try it. If you can get the certificate of residence from immigration you can convert your driving license at the DLT. The DLT might also want to see an international driving permit.
Thank you for the reply, ????

Hi, Can I get a motorcycle driving licence (I have a UK car and motorcycle licence) when in the country on the 30 day visa waiver, or do I need to get some kind of visa first?
I stay in Pattaya.
Thank you.

It's a convenient airport for myself, flying in from KL.
One thing that has changed for the worse is the transportation to Pattaya. In the old terminal there was at least two companies offering a mini-bus to Pattaya at 250 Baht, now there is only one. So now when arriving and trying to get a mini-bus the answer is always "mini-bus over an hour wait, we have taxi Bht1,000"
That's almost as much as coming from BKK!!
Maybe it will improve, but I won't hold my breath.
Buying or selling a bike registered in a different province
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted
Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but I cannot find the answer.
If one is buying or selling a bike registered in a different province can it be done in an office where it is not registered. Example: Bike is registered in Bangkok, can the buyer and seller go to the Land transportation department of Banglamung and complete the transfer? Or does the bike need to be transferred to Chonburi first, then transferred?
Thank you.
