  1. Do they keep your residence certificate? Im going in tomorrow for a first time license and got the certificate but will need it to buy a bike soon so would be quite annoying to get a new one.

And thanks everyone for all the information here, I would have gone in without the medical exam :-)

  2. thanks for investigating with me. exactly what i thought. it looks like the view point but the track looks so different. ive hiked it up twice (from different starting points though) and also tried to ride it down but turned around due to bike/skill. ill have a look there tomorrow but it seems pretty certain that this is the starting point.

maybe the rode the track so often or modified it due to the event, right now its just gonna very technical with all the streams leaving their marks.

  3. hi

thanks the responses, ill try if something works out.

yeah im just needing someone to drive it, ill do all the packing. waving someone down would be my backup, but im living outside of town (moving back to the nimmen area), so there are no red cars close here. and would be ice if forum members who can recommend a good one.

  4. hi

im moving from my house to an appartment. other than a chair i have no furniture, but quite some stuff. anyone knows a reliable, english speaking red car driver or someone else who would do it? those big moving company trucks seem way too much for me as i can fit all my stuff on a pick up/red car.

    thank you!

  5. hey

im in the same situation, i need a condo w/ good internet connection. afaik smith residence seems to be good, but id like to prefer something more to the west and a bigger swimmingpool. would be really great if u can let me know here if u find something. price doesnt really matter. im also gonna do some test stays for a night at places. i used to live at greenhill about half a year ago, and the internet was as good as non-existent. i also have a bad experience from staying at hillside 4 for 3 months, internet puts u back in the 90s.

im using 2 aircards but its just not stable enough for me.

  6. hi

im thinking about building my own stone pizza oven here. has anyone ever done that and can give me advice on where to buy material, like the right bricks and cement? also, is there any place where i can buy decent firewood?

    thanks!

  7. thought id cover 2 questions in the same thread, both about food: anyone knows where i can buy herb plants? been growing my own from seeds of JJ market and kad luang, but god it takes ages, would be nice to buy the plant in a small pot as i was used to in europe, still growing but ready to harvest a bit. also any idea where i could find different seeds, most importantly italian basil?

2nd thing is: any idea where to get rennet tablets? thought id make my own cheese but cant find rennet and i think chances are low ill find it in a common supermarket, as noone cares about cheese here (which is why i want to make my own).

    thanks!

  8. hi

i wish i could help. same problem here, size 13. have been to more than 10 shoestores around the city and also checked 2nd hand shoes at the student market on huay kaew, no success. my problem is also that i dont wear leather shoes, only sneakers and alike. but from my experience, when i had big problems finding shoes, leather shoes or other "classy shoes" seemed to be easier to find in size 13, but just not my thing. (that wasnt in thailand though)

i hope someone knows a place or a way to order big shoes.

    greetings

  9. thanks for replies guys. bike is standard semi automatic, i think ill just stop at the first garage i see as this problem is eay to explain without words, but good to know of some mechanics if problems get harder. stupid question but im serious: how dangerous is it to drive with a fuel leak? its just a small drop every few seconds but now that it has been standing theres gas over the engine part on the side which gets really hot. id imagine the wind/heat makes the gas evaporate way before it can get inflamed right? just checking, dont wanna watch my bike burn to ash because i was too lazy to push it.

    thanks!

  10. There is a very nice Moo Bann east of the 121 ring road on the 1317 highway that has a very nice pool and cafe. Can't remember the name of the Moo Bann but maybe somebody more familiar with that area can chime in.

that would be pretty close and an easy drive. any memories hints at all how i could find it?

thanks everyone else for replies! i think ill check out the tung hotel too, google says 40baht per day

  11. hi

im looking for a swimming pool that is east of chiang mai, around carefour on the superhighway or better a bit more east. doesnt have to be olympic size. maybe someone knows of a hotel or moo ban around there where you can pay a daily/monthly fee to use it.

    thanks

  12. i have 2, AIS and CAT cdma, the latter one just recently. AIS has been decent in terms of "internet in thailand", but had more and more trouble last month and worked poorly between cm and doi sakhet, cat cdma works perfectly so far and use is unlimited for 800 baht/month which is a huge + for downloading. id definetly recomed the CAT cdma from my experience.

  13. hi

looking for a nice condo (or could be appartment/bungalow etc..) to rent outside of the city where its nice and quiet. problem with houses is that they are almost all for 1 year minimum but im looking for something preferably on a month to month basis. rent should be anything up to 15k.

    thanks!
