  1. Thanks OC for a very interesting and mouth watering article. I certainly like well baked bread and concur with your comment about the toast bread used at the Sausage King Garden being so good and wish they'd offer it for delivery through Grab, LineMan, or FoodPanda too. Will try the UN Irish Crusty Bread Bakery next time I'm in the area though there again a delivery service would be preferable.
  2. The days of good manners and politeness are considered by some to be a relic of the past but educated people realise this is the basis of moulding a civilized society. Such attitudes used to be instilled by parents as their children grew and did not rely solely on having to obey strict rules such as in religious moral codes. Nowadays with the breakdown of families and the rise of media power (in all its forms) people tend to mirror their behaviour on what they see and read online and from their friends. Until such sources of influence adjust their ethos to promote 'good' behaviour the anarchic situation represented in this story will surely continue.
  3. WARNING:- Do not try and smuggle in a bottle of your favourite chilli sauce as a condiment to the food or Gordon will personally skewer you to the 'solid wooden beams'.
  4. Didn't the duty get reduced months ago? Looks like it may at last be being passed on to customers but it will have to fall a lot more than 15% before I'll start buying wine again.
  5. See my original post it gives the details about where in Chiang Mai, 😉
  6. Went back to Makro yesterday and the offer is still going but only 2 days left now. My freezer is now groaning with cheese but they had stocked up again so should be plenty left for those interested in purchasing some. Enjoy.
  7. Type the following search string into Google "facilities for digital meeting chiang mai" seems to show several options or failing that contact Chiang Mai University and explain your situation and hopefully they can help. Best of luck.
  8. I stay in Thailand less than 180 days each year so it is useful to be able to freeze if necessary. Just came back recently and the stock in the freezer tastes great though I haven't tried to grate it which KhunLA mentioned can be problematic after freezing, sliced & diced it's fine. As mentioned you can also take advantage of offers when they occur.
  9. If you like a tasty mature cheddar cheese then Makro are doing a great value offer right now on the Mainland brand cheese from Australia which is the closest thing I've found to the English cheddar I usually buy in UK. Bought this today at Makro on the superhighway near Bangkok Hospital but I presume it is running in all their branches. Get it while you can as stock going down fast. Keeps well in the freezer too.
  10. Can anyone who has visited a branch to complete these forms tell me :- - Do they just want a signed copy of the photo page of the passport or each page in the book? - Did you get any type of 'receipt' from the bank to say when/where you attended and provided them with this information? I am concerned that if there are any issues later where KBank dispute that you have given them the information requested by the due date you will have no kind of proof the meeting ever took place.
  11. Well on the covering note to the email it says "(if applicable)" so as you are NOT a US Citizen then you don't have to submit those is how I read it.
  12. I am a KBank customer and have also received this email today and scratching my head about what to do about it specially as I only visit Thailand for less than 180 days each year and NOT a US citizen. Is this 'Support your local Thai accountant' week or something?
  13. Seems that way but we aren't all like that. Hic
  14. Try finding it on Google Maps and look at the reviews the most recent of which seems to be 2 months ago so it looks like it probably is still open but it also gives a phone number so I'd give it a call to be sure. Cheers 🍺
