  1. From Thairath translated to English. "From the preliminary investigation, it is known that The factory has been making fireworks and firecrackers for a long time. And during this time, there are a lot of orders for fireworks and fireworks. " "The scene of the incident was found to be a fireworks and firecracker making factory "
  2. Quite a few groups, agencies and individuals are already announcing taking them to court as unconstitutional. :-)
  3. "and his girlfriend who is also a Cambodian national"
  4. Assuming you get a bill direct from the government and not the inflated prices found in condos. Example bill: Take the total cost 2392.93 (base + FT +VAT) and divide by number of units used, 563 in this example.
  5. Might want to look at the photos again. The lorry was going through a green arrow, the MC was jumping a red light. Notice she is already out into the intersection but the MC drivers were still waiting for a green light for their side.
  6. Safety inspection is 7 years for a car, 5 years for a motorcycle. No idea about a lorry. 🙂
  7. "The police then asked the tourists to move their cars to another area to park" What? The tourist(s) had every right to park in a public space.
  8. You are probably already aware of the symbol in reference to Buddhism. However, just in case. "The word “swastika” has Sanskrit roots and means “the mark of well being.” It has been used in prayers of the Rig Veda, the oldest of Hindu scriptures. In Buddhism, the symbol is known as “manji” and signifies the Buddha's footsteps. It is used to mark the location of Buddhist temples."
  9. No. It's a document the university generates requesting to extend my permission of stay. Any changes to it has to be through the uni system. So far they said it can't be done as it is part of the new system that automatically produces the documents needed for immigration.
  10. May not be Chiang Mai specific so if need to be moved to general Visa not a problem. ???? Went to immigration to do my annual extension based on work at Chiang Mai University. It was refused as the university generated document for immigration shows Non-Immigration "B". I entered Thailand 30 years ago on a Non-ED and have extended every year based on that with never an issue or questioned it. CMU has fully automated the documents for immigration as they have an MOU with them. Appears there is no option to change that one item from NonB to ED. The forms are filled automatically and the only form for Non-ED is for students only. Appears last year it did show Non-B but was missed, not this time though. Since my extension expires at the end of this month it has put me in a bind. I have renewed my WP for 1 year with no problem. Appears I have to have a non-b. Converting from Non-Imm to another type is not allowed. After some research seems these are my options. Convert my reason for stay from work to retirement. Appears that conversion won't work with a Non-ED. Do a border bounce and get a visa exempt and convert to a Non-B or Non-O in country. The two available options on that is working for a company or limited partnership. Or for working as a teacher. Documentation required for either appears to be complicated. My university contract is Oct 1 to Sept 24 next year. Not sure if I leave the country prior to expiration Sept 30 this year if immigration needs to be notified. I may need an agent to guide me through this.
  11. This. Had a 9,000 Baht water bill where normally it is less than 100. Checked every point in the house for any water running and nothing. I could hear the meter spinning from outside the house and looked at the meter and spinning like crazy. Was a broken line underground to the house.
  12. The Move Forward Party, the MFP, won 36.23 percent of the vote and 151 seats. It is the biggest party in Parliament.
  13. Not for much longer ... "As the Move Forward Party prepares to fulfill its pledge to legalize same-sex marriage"
  14. Yes. The difference is that it is more likely someone will be at home and a confrontation and violence could occur.
  15. Actually most if not all government facilities have a dress code.
  16. Yep, happened a few time with tourists. One example. "A British journalist is facing up to five years in prison in Thailand after being found in possession of body armor and other protective gear. Tony Cheng, a freelance correspondent for Chinese state broadcaster CGTN, told CNN he was charged Monday night with possessing “war weapons” after being stopped with German colleague Florian Witulski at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport."
  17. His excuse in the video, he was playing music too loud to hear it. Plus, he thought something was broken on his car. There was talk of increasing the fine from 500 baht to 10-20k. If the patient dies due to interfering with the ambulance, a murder charge could be levied.
  18. Someone mentioned this: "petroleum tanker B-Rear trailer top"
  19. "A 16 year old child is suffering from chest pain" Seems the appropriate doctor to see for the first visit. ????
  20. "her toddler daughter, who was sitting in the back seat." "the daughter reached over to the driver’s side and grabbed the steering wheel," Pretty flexible kid. lol
  21. Chiang Mai moat yesterday. 20230803_142947.mp4
  22. Not for a work permit. Used to be pretty casual and could use the 40-100 Baht, he has a pulse certificate. But a few years ago they become stringent about seeing the blood test has actually been done. Certificate for driver's license though, has a pulse is all needed. lol
