Kitipoj Clinic couldn't be cleaner, not to be confused with other, less than hygenic establishments on Pattaya Thai. I reiterrate, this place isn't just about being one ###### of a lot cheaper than the much lamented Bkk Pattaya, the entire operation is impressive, the work first class, the staff great. I'm no cheap charlie, but on the other hand I hate to be ripped off, Bkk Pattaya is a business, a BIG business, they pitch their prices just less than Westernised prices so that tourists come here and think they are getting a bargain, which they are in comparison to prices back home. Just check out their ads in the masses of Pattaya publications.

I rarely 'rave' about anything, however, this is one business that deserves to be successful here in Pattaya & the more of us that use it, the better it will fare.

Following a motorcyle accident earlier in the year I needed three new teeth. A bridge, covering six teeth was required.

I have used Bkk-Pattaya's dental department since it was opened. I enquired there & was told that the best price for such work was 72,000 baht. I thought this excessive & checked on prices elsewhere.

Eventually I checked out a new dental practice on Pattaya Thai, the price for the same work, using higher grade materials, I add was 24,000 baht!

After initial consultation I decided to 'take a chance' the results, first class! There is a lady-denture specialist who comes down to this practice from Bangkok every Monday & Tuesday. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Since having my new gnashers & having regained my Cheshire cat grin, I have had three fillings, the three costing 1400 baht! Thus far two friends have used this practice & are delighted with the work.

If you must move to Thailand, it would be much kinder to find your dog a good home back in the UK. Have seen loads of people bring their beloved pets from the UK & non of them ever thrive, in fact just the opposite plus as has been previously said, the packs of soi dogs would show your pet NO mercy; these boys play for keeps & you wouldn't be able to take your eyes off him!

Wouldn't it be nice to have mug shots of all these losers so they could be posted all over the web & all around town. Easy to stick a small poster up in most toilets, which, after all is where they belong! Clicker

As I was saying, until they change the way that final decisions are made i.e. The final decision to issue a visa being that of the interviewing officer, it will always remain an unfair system. These people are basically playing God & it is totally wrong in my book!

I totally agree with your sentiments Peripheral. Not wanting to sound pesimistic, but, I very much doubt that lobbying the embassy or immigration would have an iota of effect. Peripheral-If you are in Southern Ireland you won't be falling under UK regs. I have tried in the past to no avail. Unless you are loaded, theres virtually no chance of getting your boyfriend into the UK or the States. These must be the worst two countries in the world for Thais to get visas. Why I wonder do Germans, Dutch & Scandanavian guys have no problems getting their Thai friends visas? I will never forget, some years ago visiting the British embassy in Bkk with a wealthy, professional Thai LADY friend who was being interviewed in order to get a tourist visa; this lady owned assets at that time in excess of 30 million baht plus was running a very healthy business empire & went in for interview armed to the teeth with bank books, accounts, chanods etc. She was refused!!! She only wanted to visit friends in the UK for two weeks! If refused, they can appeal, however at £500 sterling this is a lot of money to chance. At the same time as I was waiting for my friend there was an English guy in there with his heavily pregnant Thai wife. This guy had details of his property, work & income in the UK & like my friend, his wife was refused a visa! Much depends on who you see in the Embassy so I'm told. The decision is completely at the discretion of the individual who interviews, which can never be right in my opinion & the whole process should be looked at!

I agree, the ladyboy has NO right to rob, just as the farang has NO right to slag HER off, which, by his own admission Khun Bartender did. I'm sure if I were the ladyboy standing on the street & some farang walks toward me hurling abuse I'd feel like retaliating & theres no better way than hurting someone than through their pocket.

I am currently in the UK & need to buy a condo when I return in a few weeks. I have done this before but can't remember the ins & outs. Basically, if I were to make a wire transfer from my Barclays account here to my savings account with the Siam Commercial Bank would this meet the legal requirements of bringing in the money from overseas for the purpose of buying a condo?

I would have to do this transfer before leaving here as it is the only service Barclays' internet banking will not carry out (ie Foreign wire transfers)

Any info appreciated.

I posted regarding this lying, thieving old con merchant in the hope that it saves someone from falling into her trap & consequently losing money, not to mention totally wasting their time. Good advice from Mike, open another UK account where you can transfer monies with your internet banking should you have a problem. I use Barclays & had big problems a couple of years ago when my debit card developed a small crack rendering it unusable-wish I'd thought of it then:) Regarding using your UK debit card, I have done this for years & always get the going rate, good or bad, however, what I didn't know as it is not shown on my internet banking statement is that each time I make a withdrawal I am charged. This only came to light when I actually saw my bank statement-proper when back in the UK-Expensive too, around two pounds odd charge on ten thousand, double this at twenty thousand etc. Does anyone have a UK bank that doesn't charge?

Naklua PO is better in my experience. Things rarely going adrift when sent from here, unlike soi PO where I have sent things , even registered that haven't gotten back to Blighty. Anything of value I send via DHL -worth the extra! I did have a PO Box at one stage, however, the amount of mail I received didn't justify the expense. Like Mike I have instructed people in the UK not to bother with the likes of Xmas or Birthday cards. Anything of importance I have them send DHL.

Slightly off topic here, however, I guess this is the best place to ask? Do any of you CM guys have any info on land / property prices in Chaingrai? Similarly, does anyone know of any real estate agents with web sites in CR? Have looked but been unable to come up with any.

Also does anyone have any experiences of buying repossed property from banks?

It all boils down to personal preference Thomasma. I love the really effem types, in fact I love ladyboys / kathoeys! Each to his own.....Boring old world if we were all the same The darker the skin the better as far as I am concerned, to ###### with the Thai class structure, which is of no importance to me & I guess 99.9% of all farang. What I do find frustrating is how they all hide from the sun forever striving to maintain their pale complexions. A really dark one is such a rarity in my experience, but O'h how I love them...lol...

Totally agreed; Bangkok Pattaya dental dept; simply the best, super efficient & compared to western prices very cheap. As previously said, avoid the scores of one man practices scattered across town. Have heard many horror stories! Same goes for doctors clinics, much better to go to Bkk Pattaya. I've been using it since it was built & have nothing but praise for the service I have received.
