1. Just checked my sympathy meter and its at zero.

My sympathy meter has hit its apex at 1.7. Largely due to the uneducated dimness of the highest order exhibited by this young lady.

Nothing any of us can do for her now.

Why would want to do anything for an accused drug smuggler, how do you know she was dim and hardly a lady

I don't care. How's that.

Wooloomooloo, you keyboard warrior, Get A LIFE, Grow UP, No one gives a rats arse about your inflamatory comments, !!!

2. Wow finally, justice is too slow in Thailand especially when rich people are involved. Its good that the guy finally has to go to jail. I always thought it was a farce when he did not have to go to jail. Finally some justice.

Next on the list red bull and the teenager that hit the minivan with people in it.

Vorayuth Yoovidhaya, the Red Bull Heir, will NEVER serve time for his crime.. And was it really a crime or an awful accident ? Shit happens in life and I think this spoilt young man hit the motorcyclist by accident and then panicked ..

when he realised the driver was a policeman. The policeman's family accepted ten million bahts in compensation. Will help to fill the space left by the dead policeman. This is Thailand and it's the way it works here. Let the young guy alone and let him live his life. He has to have that on his conscience forever. wai.gif

Hang on a minute, What are you saying here,? Are you suggesting that because compensation was paid, that should be the end of it,? We all know how it works here, But does that make it right, He should have got 10 to 15 years. Do you honestly, really think this HISO piece of shit has any conscience. Hit the motorcycle by accident, at 160 KM, Yeah right, !! Your way of thinking fits in very well here, Perhaps your related, !

3. Why is it reported the alleged attackers are Chinese American? Of what decent is the Australian? British Australian? Aboriginal Australian?

Does it really matter why it's reported that way,? Why is it so important to you, ? That's the way reporting is done here, The reporters here are not as politicly correct as you would like them to be. BTW, IT should should be reported this way, Because it gives greater exposure to the perpertrators, & how they have managed to escape justice, It also helps to expose the way things are run here. Good luck Jack, In the end it will all come down to who has the most clout, ( MONEY ). !

4. This is all insane.... People loosing sight of their humanity.

People discussing that a child should have a Christian upbringing to balance the woes of the opposing beliefs.

Children need and should be given a healthy and balanced upbringing - with good parenting that can exist whatever the religion and beliefs.

When this does not happen, as is the case here, the healthy balance needs to be readdressed, not by swinging the educational-religeous bias so far in the opposing direction in the manner one may use to balance weighing scales - that ideology is simply dumb.... but by simply brining back a healthy and stable balance by being there as a good caregiver.

This example is tragic, a parents belief pushed so far towards extremism any form of intelligent balance has been lost. This child needs rescuing from both parents and placed in a loving and healthy environment. The child is Muslim, I'm sure there are healthy and balanced parents in the Muslim community willing to take on this child... but thats less important than the primary aim of providing care, religion should take a back seat to the healthy development of this child for the sake of their future.

Problem here is," Islam will never take a back seat to the healthy development of a child, for the sake of their future," It's all about the programming, from birth, There is no reasoning with them. The religion is the first & foremost, thing, It will always be that way. The future of the child is Islam, No if's, No but's, Islam. The control the programmers have over their minds is unbelievable. The only thing that i can see that might change things in the future is education, The more that are educated, the more free thinkers it will produce, & when they can think for themselves, Then things might change.

5. Agree, Great Post, Well done as well, I hope your efforts are rewarded with many more years of good health, Myself, I was in a simular situation, Smoked about 10 to 15 a day for 50 odd years, Gave up completely 4 months ago, Now having problems, coughing up gunk in the mornings, and worrying about my longevity , I joined a gym a month ago, and are feeling so much better, i am returning to Australia in 6 weeks to have some skin cancers sorted, Will have a full medical whilst there, One thing i am absolutely certain about is that i will never, ever smoke again, Good Luck, !!!

Good to see that USA gives out long jail time............In Europe this creep would be back on the street again after 10 years.

In Australia, With the help of clever lawyers, A guilty plea on manslaughter, 2 to 3 years max Imprisonment, They would bring up allsorts, His father growled at him as a child, He didn't have enough sugar on his cornflakes, He had trouble fitting in to society, He had a little too much speed that day, The clever defense lawyers have the ability to make the jury feel sorry for the perpertrator , , And many times they fall for it . Sad but true. A lot of oxygen thieves walking the streets in Australia, That should never see the light of day, !

Wow - why am I not even slightly surprised by this ? I mean after all, this isn't the kind of action that peace-loving and tolerant people would do, is it ?

This sounds more like the actions of poorly educated, poorly trained, armed criminals that have no (effective) leadership and no fear of any consequences of any kind (because they all can claim their actions are justified by their interpretation of their religious edicts).

Kind of like the Christian Crusades all over again, just with deadlier weapons and mass media coverage.

I did give a condescending snort when I read about the various Gulf Coast Countries being in a bit of a quandary now, as the (Sunni) rebels they had been funding to overthrow Assad have branched out and are attacking Shias in Iraq. They are concerned about what all those now well-armed (and funded) rebels may do when they run out of targets and possibly set their sights on establishing fundamentalist theocracies back in their home countries (like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE).

Certain of those countries even had to pass laws recently forbidding their citizens from going off to fight with the rebels, after having earlier encouraged many to do so ! Some have had to have their "state clerics" stop their fund-raising drives as too much of that cash was going to the rebels that they couldn't control.

(Think about that for a minute. State affiliated religious leaders openly fund-raising to send money to rebel fighters trying to overthrow governments in foreign countries. Now think about charitable organizations that do not have to declare their income, pay no taxes (of any kind) and can use those undeclared, unknown sums of money to do whatever they want, with no scrutiny of any kind. Scary. Think about that the next time you go past a church, mosque or temple.)

The world would be a far better place, if religion, (all religions) were not taken seriously,! Any person who picks up a gun and wants to blow your head off because you don't think the way he or she does, Well, were are we at as a global community. ??

Franco governed for 36 years in Spain.
Ending when he died in 1975

Meanwhile the opposing team became educated.
It wont matter what this General does.
It doesn't matter how long it takes.
History shows us, that one day in the future the ''people '' always win!

'' Power concedes nothing without a demand.

It never did and it never will.''
''Nobody in the world, nobody in history, has ever gotten their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of the people who were oppressing them.''

Yeah, tell it to the Russians. !!!

Hmmm. Not many on here defending the coup now are there?

I don't understand why the general has taken over the senate but I trust he is doing what has to be done for the good of the country and the people.

I salute your faith, but I fear your trust is misplaced.

Maybe you should salute his trust, but you fear his faith is misplaced.

10. "We have the potential to become a gateway to hundreds of islands in southern Myanmar,"

Wot? No hub? Is gateway going to be the new 'in' word and hub relegated to the dictionary?

I'd like to see the Myanmar Government make the 'gateway' a revolving door and large No Entry signs erected - in Thai. Time for a bit of payback for the misery that Thailand has heaped on desperate Myanmar people for so long.

The Thai's / Siamese, have long memories, They don't forget the raping & pillaging & occupation of Autthaya hundreds of years ago.

11. We have seen killers in Thailand who have come from America, UK, Norway, Sweden, and Australia. Maybe we should get tough on visas with people from those countries, too.

My feelings about Russians is mixed but not at all prejudicial; it is based on personal interaction. I've met really great Russians I would happily invite home for dinner and real <deleted>. Same for Americans, Brits, Frenchmen, Aussies, Danes, and Swiss.

Hey, Are they really on the menu,????
