It's been 10 years since I last visited Phuket.

Man am I glad that myself and none of my family or friends are ever, ever going to set foot on the sh!thole again.

The place is beautiful - the people, particularly the locals, are a totally different matter

The place WAS beautiful , been to Phuket 22 years ago when it already started to go down , real estate speculation , deadly road accidents , all different mafias controlling every part of the society , not talking about locals , not worth the typing effort .. Oh well the world is big enough will amazing and so much better places .

When you see the difference in service and offers on either emirates , Etihad, Cathay or Singapore airlines , specially in business class you don't want to fly TG anymore . That's what I did ... TG sucks , it's a shame as it was so good many years ago , you still can blame the competition but look in your own garden before putting the blame on others.

It's so much easier to arrest people for having a little bit pot in the pocket instead of doing something about jet ski scams ... I wonder how much the police get in every scam.

is it really because of the protest ? could it be also for the great welcoming and different scams that people come less to Thailand ? I could see dozen of other reasons ...see the Russian bashing here ? the Indian bashing ? etc ....

so where is our dear PM now ?

The Phuket News has learnt that in Russia and other Eastern European countries people often pose as deaf people

As well as many cities in western Europe , Paris , London , Madrid, Berlin etc ......

As Russian tourists hardly speak a word of English , are there any Thai guides who can speak Russian ? I dont think so ....... Another good move for Poutin to promote Thailand as holiday destination for his people .... what about all the illegal Burmese working in factories, fishing boats, as maids etc .... Thai could do also that job no ?

What bothers me are the Russian prostitutes and dancers. Get RID of them. I came to Thailand to see Thais not Russians. I can fly to Russia if I want to see them.

well in that case why dont you go back to your country ? When I go to London I dont complain about seeing Indian, Pakistan or any other nationalities.When I go to Sydney , its hard to see only Australian as the aborigines are the REAL Australian ....but I dont mind to see other people ... and it is the same in Thailand ...

Actually, a major contributing factor for the Russians and the Ukrainians is the fact that it is very difficult for them to get Visas to many countries of the World.

Thailand, for a modest Fee, offer this to them.

sorry but you are wrong , very easy for Russian to have Shengen visas for example , I have some friends they got one year multiple entry to France , for Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos they dont need Visa , as well for Turkey . Russian travel on low budget specially to Pattaya but mostly Russian from south and east of Russia.

Lack of care and respect for children lives. This is a total disgrace,... a mini van with 22 kids?!

it's also possible it must have been driving at high speed, as usual, when you drive slow, there are always a chance to avoid accidents.

Guys, the mini van, for once, is not at fault here, there was an earlier accident which left a stationery pick up on the road - not intentionally parked, a truck with a container onboard tried to take avoiding action and lost control losing it's container in the process, the container unfortunately hit the van which was already slowing down as the driver had seen the accident ahead.

22 in a 12 seater van is not clever, but it did not cause the accident.

yes you are right , it didnt cause the accident , but imagine if the accident would have killed those 22 students ?

Soon Thailand will be No 1 for the most dangerous roads in the world .... with the "we want to be No 1 somewhere" attitude they will succeed soon ... I would call it a National shame ...
