  1. The author is a Thai member of the parliament and deputy leader of the incumbent Democrat Party.

I loved this part of the article the most. :)

Did it also say he is an MP from Khorat?

Khorat? But the reds tell us that everyone in Isaan is Red! How could a dem possibly be elected in Khorat?

Well, the Democrats are in court right now for corruption, so I guess anything is possible if you pay enough money :D

  2. "30 baht cures all diseases". Nice one Thakky.

Who's Thakky? Doesn't this forum have a rule that you can't twist someone's real name? You don't see other people writing "Shitty" either, do you?

It was an accidental misspelling of Takki, as in Takki Shinegra - the name he elected for himself on his Monetenegran, Ugandan and Nicaraguan passports. Read all about it here:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Thaksin-s-Pa...hi-t317055.html

You seem to have a short memory of your hero's chameleon-like nature. :)

That's a false rumor spread by the Thai Foreign Ministry. His passport shows his real name, not Takki Shinegra.

  3. How do we trust the investigators not to be biased?

I really think abhisit should allow external investigators to investigate this as to minimize biaas

He might not want this because of the anti abhisit side that foreign news seems to be taking recently

Kind of like when the army towed the barges loaded with refuges out in to the middle of no where after they removed the engines. He had the army do the investigating. Any one heard anything yet? This won't be any different. As long as the army is running the country nothing positive will happen.

Usual red rubbish chucked out from an over-excited imagination.

Probe questions fate of refugees in Thailand

    - CNN finds evidence hundreds of Rohingya refugees abandoned at sea by Thai army

    - Photos show refugees on their rickety boats being towed out to sea, cut loose

    - The army denies setting refugees adrift; Thai government has launched an inquiry

    - Rohingya have been fleeing persecution of the hard-line military regime in Myanmar

  4. If he's the worst element, why isn't the government arresting him? If the government is capable of arresting him, why aren't they? And if they're not, why are they still playing government?

And then they ask Thaksin to stop phoning in ...and when he finally does stop, they're literally making him phone in again by saying he's dead.

It really seems that they don't want him to stop. As funny as it may seem.

  5. Because if he phones in, everyone will be saying "it's just all about Thaksin"?

That's far too weak. If you don't know, just say you don't know.

If he phones in, everyone is obsessed with him saying he's stirring up the protesters.

If he doesn't phone in, everyone is saying he's dead. Literally asking him to phone in to prove them wrong.

Watch him phone in sometime in the next days and then everyone will be accusing him of stirring up the protesters again.

    :)

  6. The Abhisit government has also tried to lower costs and the level of debt among the poor by providing 15 years of free education for all...

15 years free education. Surely that means free university for everyone? Or is it assuming that children start going to school aged 3 (+15 years) finishing high school at 18?

...and a 500 baht [$17] monthly allowance for elderly people.

How can you live from 500 Baht per month? That doesn't even pay for a crappy apartment. Is this a joke?

  7. ^this picture is genuine, not photoshopped IMHO, but the question is whether the DATE stamp is real? Ditto the "Ugandan" pics. Could have been taken anytime. Why try to photoshop a picture when all you have to do is type in a date stamp?

I'm assuming he's alive and well, what I want to know is: why is he being so coy? I seriously would NOT be surprised if he made a surprise appearance at Rajarprasong.

What would the gov't do then?? Wouldn't this be "game over" for Abhisit?

As soon as the shadow myth is busted, here comes the timestamp myth.

Maybe there's no conspiracy? It could be that he's simply alive and doing well. :)

Could be. I'm not of a mind to believe this 'thaksin is dead' rumour myself. The question is: if alive and doing well, why no phone-ins anymore? Just too busy?

Because if he phones in, everyone will be saying "it's just all about Thaksin"?

  9. Jerry the don't want to fold the government now,

because the WANT TO PASS THE BUDGET FIRST....

Seems you haven't grasped that nettle yet.

Because if PTP gets their mits on it, it's toast and all the good potential wasted.

They spent last year salvaging the economy, because PPP completely IGNORED

the coming world crisis focusing on Thaksin/TRT recovery efforts,

and the country was ill prepared when the hammer fell.

This year, finally back on track, the Dems HAVE started projects, but the budget must be passed.

PTP and Thaksin want first crack at that money to finance their election plans.

That and jigger the army and police lists back their way, making a full take over easier.

    Very simple really.

I don't care who runs the country as long as they are competent

and at least have some semblance of honesty towards helping ALL the people.

I know PTP will NOT meet that criteria, and worse will dismantle good things for their profit..

You realize that the "budget" they're trying to pass isn't a budget to help the poor people, but to give more funds to the army, right?

  10. first photo a fake?/!!

Look at the cars,no such thing in moskwa, look at thejacket of the man,the sleeves are way too long, and the shirt, must have found it in a skip.

Arches domes with crosses not in russia seen, come with onion shapes.crosses koptic, nuff said,eh?

might be wrong in all above?

The distance with arrows on the lamp-post shows 50m.no such sign with metres(m) in russia, the writing on the sign is certainly not cyrillic, connot make out much.

Please tell me you're joking. The writing on the sign is most definitely Russian. And I don't see any crosses. And there are indeed "nice cars" in Russia. Not everybody drives around in a Trabant anymore. Wake up, smell the coffee, get some new glasses. :)

  11. According to Thai news, Abhisit just allocated something over 200 million Baht to police to better deal with the protesters. Like they have done anything for their money so far? I wonder how many Benz's that will buy. Or BMW motorbikes.

If he could only allocate that much to the poor Thais, there wouldn't be so many red shirts on the streets, I'm sure.

  12. PM to talk to foreign press more on political problems

BANGKOK (NNT) -- The Thai government will explain the ongoing domestic political situation with the international community on a continuous basis to prevent problems from the government’s operations to deal with protests.

Speaking in his weekly television program “Confidence in Thailand with Prime Minister Abhisit,” the prime minister admitted that understanding needed to be created continuously since many sides were still confused over the situation in Thailand.

Prime Minister Abhisit noted that he had explained the country’s situation in his recent meeting with Timor's president upon his visit to Thailand. He said the latter now understood that law enforcement and operations of the Thai government against the protests were justified.

The prime minister added that he would give more interviews to the international media, apart from his previous interviews with CNN and BBC, in a bid to make the government’s security and political solutions acceptable among the international community.

    -- NNT 2010-05-02

I'm sure the people of Timor will be happy to get updated on how things are going with the red shirts.

    :)

  13. Today, he's supposedly off in Russia:

    r709523477.jpg

Former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra poses for a photograph in this picture taken in Moscow April 27, 2010 and obtained from his Facebook page

    Reuters (52 minutes ago)

    Very observant

Every thing has a 10 o'clock shadow except Taskin

    Ghost of fake

Thai wife says must be a Ghost

Going one step further I placed the photo on to the works computer that can find colour difference, and it shows a white outline .5 pixels wide all around Taskins body

There is a shadow below the lamp post, in its present position it should have continued across Taskins body at the point where the photo was taken

But the shadow goes behind Taskins body

Looks like the picture of Taskin was placed over the shadow

a well done fake, but definatly a fake

I'm amazed. You guys have absolutely no knowledge about photography or shadows. Let me try and explain it as easy as possible. Everything has a shadow, you're right. Now, Thaksin does indeed have a shadow, but it's not visible because his legs are cut off above his knees. The shadow is there, you just can't see it. A person the height of Thaksin doesn't throw a 20 meters shadow like the pole that is behind him. Use logic, people.

Here's another "photoshopped" image for you kids to play around with. And this time there's even a shadow under his arm!

  14. What I want to know is where they got that pingpong ball....

Who said anything about ping pong balls. I read it as ping pongs. Throwing food bombs in Thailand is a far more devastating crime and hugely insulting - almost up there with lese majeste.

    {Irony Alert}

...13 pages about McDonalds and the thing that people are most intrigued about are the ping pong balls.

Hey, why don't I ever get ping pong balls with my Happy Meal?
