  1. I would like to suggest a new place for the music and beer lovers it is called the Lipstic Bar

which is not as it may sounds . Every Saturdays night they have a Jam session or Open mike event

with some pro musician .You can bring your instrument and join the fun they have a good system and full drum set .

The location of this place is next to Le Meridian hotel to the north on Chanklan Rd. second floor of the market building.

  2. Please tell the location of Mama Mai Pizza,Mae Jo road

    is quiet long, Thanks

    regards Worgeordie

On the Mae Jo road after the big junction on the outer ring road in Sansai go toward the Mae Jo Uni. It's on the left side

1-1.5 Km. look for a new 3 story townhouse and you will notice the small restaurant sign. Bon Apetite

  4. The more I read about Thailand the more it looks like a lawless cesspit.

When I went to Phuket over ten years ago for my honeymoon I thought it would be the perfect place to retire to, and we visited several times a year.

Three years ago when the tuk tuk mafia took control of the transport situation, and foreigners seemed to have no rights whatoever, we havnt been back, and and I doubt we ever will. There simply seems to be no place that could be considered safe anymore, Chaing Mai, Hua Hin, Phuket etc.

We live in Chiang Mai for 2 years and we still alive and very happy :-)
  5. Kindle is the best ( and other E-Readers ) it is so cofortable to read in bed and evrywhere maybe not recomended for the Bath though . You can enlarge the letter size for easy reading

and if you have a WiFi connection you can search purchase and get the book in the device in seconds.

  6. Are you all ( who post replies here ) live in Thailand ? I is amazing to see how much hatered most of you have to this place or yuo just like to troll . Don't you want this campain to be a success ?

It is not that we don't want it to be a success... We just want Thailand to be the Best it can be.

We are tired about the constant misuse of the English language, like it doesn't have an international impact on Thailand's reputation.

Outside Thailand, Thailand is laughed at because they use the language improperly... The government should hire the Best, not the cheapest, to check that they have made no errors. It shows a total lack of respect for the Foreigners that they are trying to attract, and leaves them with a very bad impression of uneducated Thais.

And if Thais have no respect for Foreigners, then Foreigners wonder why they should respect Thais & Thailand!

    CS

Frommy experience Thai have much respect for someone who respect them - I find manyof the comments in this thread and I many threads on Thavisa almost of a racistapproach . Thais have their own way of doing and thinking and western peoplethink that have better way ( some of them ) why ?

  7. Is it open ? we went there about half a year ago and it looked closed for long time like out of bussines .

One of my favourites is Pan Pan, behind Wat Suan Dok. It`s vegetarian but there`s enough variety on the menu to satisfy most tastes. It`s slightly more expensive than the traditional rice and noodle shops, but still excellent value. The location is beautiful, the tastes are fantastic and the presentation equals many nouveau cuisine places in Europe. They opened a 2nd restaurant a few months ago on Huay Kao rd, diametrically opposite Amari Rincome. I think the food is organically grown on their farm.

  8. Khun Churn on Nimmanhaemin, Soi 17. It's 99 baht for lunch. Be aware that it's strictly vegetarian. It's FANTASTIC, though.

Thanks - I was there today and enjoy the food and loaction so much thanks again .

  9. I agree Macs are great computers and you probably should get one .I use a Windows comp. running Windows 7 and it is stable easy to use and very responsive system so please Mac users you can l o v e your woderfull machines without bashing Windows .

  10. About a year ago we have made a kitchen at Homikitch and we had a very positive expiriance workin with them .They arrived to mount the kitchen on schedual in 1 day they have finshed the mounting and left a good quality clean kitchen.the price was resonable too .

  11. Foreigner can't own house in Thailand.

Thai wife own house, Thai wife divorce foreigner, keep house.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it a foreigner can certainly own a house in his or her name. The land on which it is built, however, must be in a Thai's name or the name of a corporation of some sort in which the foreigner cannot hold more than 49% interest.

Our house is on both my wife and my name but only the house itself not the land so to kick you out of your half house is impossible if you have a valid visa.

for the business I sugest you make somthing that attract Thais and Turists it is better for the low season.

  12. I am currently a Wallen student so I can tell you the young lovely teachers are amusing gentle and professional each in her own way the school facilities are very good and the Thai leguage is hard to learn.

  13. If you where a Thai with only a Thai passport you would know how hard it is to get a European UK or USA visa just to as a tourist so your lame idea of punishing the Thais for thier imigration lows will not really work since they already quite being punished.

Think it's time to move on. Got the house up for sale and two good offers to teach, where I don't have to give a pass marks to kids who fail. Sad as I do love this country, but having to report like a criminal to immigration every three months, and being charged 400% more than my Thai wife and kids when we visit a park, is starting to where thin. Eu should apply the same laws to visiting Thai's, then when Mr Abscise next visits, he can have a taste of the discrimination we expats endure every day.annoyed.gif

In the UK kids who fail exams, automatically go up to the next year. It's no different in Thailand.

Reporting to Immigration every 3 months is not really a big deal. 20 minutes and you in then out. I certainly don't feel like a criminal.

The last time I visited a national park that has 2-tier pricing was around 6 years ago. I showed my drivers licence and got in for the same price as my wife.

Abscise (Abhisit?) has a British passport, British birth certificate and is British.

If these are your reasons for leaving Thailand, good luck and good bye.

  14. I also have building a house and have not met one person who is a crook with all the construction work furnishing the house registartions

    ETC.

Pathetic. With all the "things" that go on in Thailand, the powers that be choose this to tackle? Surely they have more productive things to do.

    TheWalkingMan

you are absolutely right - I have just been building a house and have - except for one person - not come across anybody who was not a crook!! The scale of corruption, cheating and dishonesty in this country is beyond believe - and these sad excuses for law enforcement officers have nothing better to do then to arrest a few musicians who are performing for free??

And spare me with answers like "The law is the law" - nobody of the locals gives a dam_n about any law - and even if you try and fight them within the boundaries of the law - they get nasty and threaten you - or worse!

  15. The salad bar in Sizler is not the same as in the Salad Concept and can not be compared .For some gourmet high end foodies nothing around here is good enought or it is overpriced compare to thier home country . We all know we are living in a third primitive country where Sizler and ather American chains concider HiSo so why we have to read about it again and again just to make us loose our appetite ?.
