  1. We arrive in CM yesterday to settle down for at least few years and for now we have a small Condo room . I need to continue my work as a Designer and Plastic Engineer so I desperately need to rent a small office or even better to share an air conditioned office for a reasonable rent. any Ideas ?

  2. I have had my Mitsu Triton nearly 4 years now.

Only complaint I have is a few squeaks and rattles have started from the dash plastic when over really rough roads.

Comfort wise there has been no complaints from me, the wife or any other passengers.

Economy seems very good, averaging up to 15 km/l on a run, never less than 12 km/l even when in a hurry. Mine is fitted with a cover which seems to improve mileage.

Finish is holding up well even though I rarely clean it lazy bugger that I am. On the odd occasion I take it to the local car care it always polishes up like new.

As mentioned above the size of the rear bed is limited by it being a 4 door but no more than others and I have only wished for larger a couple of times but then again mine is not used as a workhorse.

Depreciation is a pain though. Recently offered 400k against a new Pajero Sport which was less than we hoped for.

I have never regretted buying and would get another if mine were wrecked.

If you are selling you may have a good customer we arrive in CM toward the end of July

  3. Not to keen on the design my self, but the two issues i would consider is the small bed size compared with other trucks and a low resale value compared to all the other trucks with exception to the GM truck i would imagine.

But as far as new trucks are concerned they all have a 3 year warranty, and i would imagine some very good deals with the Triton compared to most others.

Ride well if you want a comfortable ride then get a car, at the end of the day it is personal choice.

Just out of being nosey why or what made your wife choose the Triton?

My lovely wife likes the design and the fact that the front passengers space looks bigger then other trucks I am think buying and driving

a truck is safer for the little family but maybe I am wrong.Cheers

  4. Sawasdee Khrup, Khun Okertes,

We've sent you by "private TV e-mail" the phone number for the agent we mentioned (those numbers date back to 2005 : no idea if she's still alive or at those phone numbers).

Also, meant to mention we completely agree with the idea that the best idea is for you to find temproary dwelling in-townish for the first few months so you get a chance to know the city, and really "shop around."

Another thing we wanted to mention to you is the danger of fraud in rentals here in Chiang Mai.

You want to make sure you know who the "real owner" of the house, or whatever you rent, is. For one thing, you'll find yourself at some point needing a certificate of residency for (buying a car, etc.) : that's going to need to be signed by the official owner.

If dealing with an "agent" : you absolutely need to have a xerox copy of the agent's id card, and, in our opinion have somebody you trust research who the "real owner" is. We won't tell you the horror stories we've personally known about in this area : but one fine example is of two farangs who, between them, had more than thirty years experience, at least, in living in Chiang Mai, spoke Thai : they rented a building for their business, paid deposit, rent, got all the utilities connected : the "real owner" showed up a month later to kick them out : it was all a fraud.

If we knew a good lawyer in Chiang Mai who we thought could reliably do a "title search" and make sure any contracts you signed were binding and with the real person or entity that owned the house and land, we'd recommend : but we don't know such a person. Maybe someone else will give you information on how you solve the issue of "real owner" and "clear contractual title." As a "rule of thumb" : we don't trust Thai lawyers.

    best, ~o:37;
