  1. So I went today at around 14:30. My number was 585. They were on 580 when I got there. Great I thought..., outta here in 10 minutes max... Don't know what was going on but there was nobody working the 90-day counter. Only a kid - student or intern or whatever inputting data int the computer next to the window, occasionally. He looked to be about 15-16 years old. He was mostly playing games on his tablet. There were a number of people waiting and getting agitated. Occasionally a heavy set woman with thinning hair, always talking on a mobile, would come and advance the number by one queue card and process one 90-day report before taking off again and going in the back. 582 and 583 took off, they couldn't handle it. It took 45 minutes to process 581 and 584. I was losing control and my palms were getting sweaty. I stood there for another 10 minutes before the lady walked over, again talking on her mobile the entire time. She took my papers, never looked at any of them including the date, filled out the new appointment slip and tossed my passport next to the computer. At that point the kid went on a break with tablet, soft drink, and snacks in hand and left me standing there waiting for my passport. After another 10 minutes passed, I snapped, reached over the counter (something I would normally never do) and grabbed my passport and took off. It was the longest hour I have ever spent at Immigration. The only good thing out of the incompetence was that she never looked at the date to see I was 2 days late. So I saved 1,000 Baht.

It is far better to go down the visa company road, just think you arrived thought you would be out in 10 minutes and then end up getting stressed and doing something you would never normally do. Far less stress the other way .

  2. Thank goodness the season is over ,we just could not beat Arsenal on Saturday I think overall a fair result I know the spurs fans will not agree with me on the result, but we have been poor all season and it did not help losing Ba to Chelsea . Lets look on the bright side it will be a lot better next season ,no Europa cup to deal with , we did not have enough quality players to be able to perform in all the competitions we were in.

  3. If you've ever been to St. James the old fallacy about them being the most fervent supporters in the land is horse poo.

If a game isn't going their way they are the first to boo their own.

Don't be like that , if we were playing bad which is most weeks this year ,the Toon boo and the away support cheer us.

  4. I see today on ESPN that Newcastle owner as vowed to give the club's non playing staff a 1 million pound bonus if NUFC beat Arsenal today.

He says it is a gesture to the clubs unsung hero's who work behind the scenes at the club. I find it a very strange offer to make he never fails to amaze.

  5. You have no pressure on yourselves next sunday. They have huge pressure. You have decent players at home infront of 50000 cheering home fans. I know the atmospheres great, i've been there. Is there any acceptable reason why you shouldn't beat Arsenal next weekend?

No reason, if the players put in 100% and want to win the game . I am not convinced that they will be up for it but I hope so for the 50,000 + that will be willing us to win. I feel that things are not right at the club and it seems a lot of fans feel the same way.

  6. Its starting to look like Mr Pardew is not wanted anymore by some of the fans ,a lot of them are saying they would like Benitez to take over if AP is given the sack . I don't see much chance of that but who knows how Mr Ashley,s mind works .

  7. Pathetic display/jammy win fcrg, but you are safe now (I do not think Arsenal will lose on Tuesday - hope you will repay the favour next Sunday but realise you have to try to get above Sunderlando!).

How are you gonna survive next year? Pardew goes or half the team goes?

Woops. You are safe anyway, so no favours to trade, unless you are less generous to the Mackams than Worgeordie and want us to lose so that Wigan get the lifeline to relegate themsmile.png

A poor display the first 15 minutes were terrible I feared the worst, after we scored the penalty we played well against a poor side for the next 30 minutes. When we came out after half time nobody wanted to play or wanted the ball . at least we are safe . You will beat Wigan that is a sure bet.

  8. "If you do not have a UK driving license you will also have to have a IDP as well has your 5 year Thai driving license You will then be able to drive in the Uk for 12 months without a Uk license".

The answer above is not correct. Best to go straight to the UK government website to get the real info. You do NOT need an IDP. The government website states clearly that you can drive for 12 months with your license from your country of residence.

If you have not got a UK license you will not be able to hire a car in the UK ,also if you are stopped by the police and have not got a UK driving license they will ask to see your IDP as happened to me in York 2011. It does quote that on their website but I am only reporting on what happened to me.

I'm afraid this is simply not correct. I hired a car from a major company in the UK just two weeks ago using a Thai drivers license. There was no question of an IDP or any other requirement. And the OFFICIAL UK govenrment website says you can drive on your home country license, as I have done in the UK many times.

Again I can only give you my experience ,I am not disputing what you are saying but that happened to me in York 2 years ago.

  10. I'll probably live to regret it, but I have to say I'd rather play at your place for the last game than play at Stoke for the penultimate gamesmile.png

You just carry on annoying the Toon Army Santi. biggrin.png

personally i'd love too see us put the last nail in the coffin of that <deleted> Pardew on the last game of the season. just for the simple fact he is a <deleted> hypocrite.

oh and also for the fact of pushing the Spuds into their accustomed nearly ran 5th place finish again. w00t.gif

A nice friendly post to help us on our way thanks.

  11. But why get an IDP? I've driven in countries all over the world and never yet found one where an IDP is of any value. I'm currently in England, driving on a 5 year Thai license.

    Does the old bill know?

If you are from the UK and have a driving licence and a Thai licence you do not need a IDP to drive in the UK.If you are not resident in the uk and live in Thailand you are required to use the Thai licence if you visit for a Holiday.

I'm from England and heading back there soon and have a 5 year Thai license (and no British license). Will I be able to drive back in England? And for how long until I need to get my UK License?

If you do not have a UK driving license you will also have to have a IDP as well has your 5 year Thai driving license You will then be able to drive in the Uk for 12 months without a Uk license.

  12. I'm rooting for you to win!

    against QPR of course

I think that is the only one of the two games we have any chance of winning but thanks for that.

If thats the attitude your players take onto the pitch then you are going down.

Arsenal are very beatable. Norwich would have beaten them bar dodgy officials, an offside goal awarded a week later! Ofcourse you can beat them. They are doing nothing more than riding their luck

It may look like I have given up but the players for me anyway do not seem to be wanting to play for AP now ,our last two premier home fixtures against Arsenal have been a 4-4 and a 0-0 . back then we were playing a lot better than we are at the moment but I hope I am wrong .

  13. Fellow managers

Sir Alex Ferguson: "David is a man of great integrity with a strong work ethic. I've admired his work for a long time. He was a young man then at the start of his career and has since gone on to do a magnificent job at Everton. There is no question he has all the qualities we expect of a manager at this club.”

Howard Kendall, former Everton boss: “David Moyes is such an inspirational manager. He and Sir Alex have always had a close relationship and they are similar as men. They are both ultra-professional and the way they go about their jobs is similar. The Old Trafford hierarchy will want stability and for some things to remain the same. With Moyes and Ferguson in the background helping him from time to time, they can have that."

Harry Redknapp, QPR manager: "David Moyes could manage any club. He's proved what he could do at Everton without spending fortunes. What could he do at a club with resources? He could do a fantastic job there. They say: 'He's never won a major trophy', but you can't win a major trophy unless you manage one of the big four.”

Graham Taylor, former England manager: "Everton broke into the top four and challenged. To be able to still be doing that, bearing in mind the amount of money David has available to him to spend in comparison to the big four, is an absolutely first-class achievement by him."

Kenny Dalglish, former Liverpool manager: "Moyes has done a fantastic job at Everton. I've got a great deal of respect for David Moyes."

Steve Bruce, Hull City manager: "He's cut from the same cloth [as Sir Alex]. It wouldn't surprise me if he got the job and I'm sure he would be very successful. He's not had huge finances but he has still managed to put an Everton team together that comfortably finishes in the top 10."

    Everton colleagues

Tim Howard: "David Moyes has a real good recipe for success. He doesn't just bring in every good player available. He brings in guys who can play two positions who will also buy into [the club's ethos]. And then he guides them along. He's an incredible motivator. And he gets better at it every year."

Phil Neville: “His method is to push you to your limits in training and then the match is easy. He has developed as a manager too because he has looked at things differently. He’s gone from a British-based, solid team to a more foreign-based one with more flair. The DNA of a David Moyes team is clear: hard work, spirit, togetherness

Carry on trying to convince yourself that you have got yourself a top drawer managercheesy.gif

Moyes is a decent manager, nothing more nothing less. He has won squat all the years he has been managing, and is now in charge of one of the biggest teams in the world.

It is a recipe for disaster.

The fact that they are a club used to success year in year out, AND have recently become a publicly traded company, means that there is almost zero chance of Moyes completing his 6 yr stint. I n fact I would be amazed if he lasts more than 18 months.

    Happy Daysclap2.gifclap2.gif

He as a decent record at Everton ,how could he win anything when Sir Alex his mentor was winning it all.

  15. I will be cancelling True Gold after the final game of the season, then wait and see if they have enough games next season then I will re subscribe to True Gold again.

I believe you can put your subscription 'on hold' for a certain length of time, not sure if it's one or two months and they just charge 100 baht or so......or they used to. Antone able to clarify or update this further?

It might be worth doing this rather than let them take the whole lot away and then possibly re-sign. Once the EPL situation or any other football screening becomes clearer, either keep it or cancel.

Yes I have looked at there website and I am now going to downgrade to what they call super entertainment channel you still get true sports 2,5,6,7. for 790 a month

  16. Earlier in the year the Toon came to the Liberty Stadium and made themselves rather unpopular in SW Wales by trying to kick the Swans up in the air (still the dirtiest team to visit in my opinion). In one of life's little ironies they will now hope that the said Swans can do them a big favour tonight at Wigan. Although our form is **** at the moment and our leading scorer is sidelined I think we we will do our best, but it is going to be tight.

I agree with you ,we did not come out of that game looking good. We need to send Swansea a big thank you for last nights 3-2 win at Wigan
