I consider a degree from Bangkok University the same as no degree at all.
I would rate him lower than someone from Chulalongkorn or Thammasat or someone with more experience. He is telling me that his son was the only one that applied for the job?

I have moved several times already because of noise and anywhere I go there is always some guy that has to make my life miserable.
Now I am stuck with a guy that plays music several hours per day. Yesterday it went on until 2 am. I complained about it and then they all ganged up on me. I offered to buy him any headphones that he want. He refused. I offered to split to week 50/50. He doesn't want that. And the most shocking part was that some random guy said it was his home so he can do anything he wants and everyone agreed with him. That is just so WRONG. I bet the cops are going to agree with them too.
I just can't believe how ignorant everyone in this country is and you just cant reason with these people. They are selfish. My life is miserable but he doesn't care cause he wants to listen to his music.

I have ideal reply for this.
As a young guy (23) I moved to Thailand.
For young educated people the opportunities are endless.
Many older people especially whose who don't live in the uk/eu have not realised the jobs market for graduates has completely failed to epic proportions.
I was offered a job paying three times as much as back in the UK.
For young people unemployment is like 25% or something and graduates who do have jobs are in menial work.
I can't begin to explain how dire the situation is most of my friends after graduation (guys with masters degrees) earn less the a £1000 a month doing whatever they can. It's a complete waste of potential.
They will new be able to afford a house or a nice car.
If your educated in Thailand then it's like the job market in the Uk was 50 years ago (or so I have heard) because of the growth In Asia this will play out massively over the next few decades.
Sadly expect to see an influx of graduates coming to Asia.

I think its actually the exact opposite. Much harder to find decent jobs in Thailand because of the 51% has to be thai rule, complicated paperwork and the language. And if you happen to score a job then you'd have to accept a low salary. Even an engineer in Thailand only earns 25k per month.
The prospects are worse anywhere but they are a lot better in the west then in asia.

I certainly hope they wont give anyone a thai id. Can you imagine if they gave all the indians and brit expats a thai id card? I will immediately leave this country.

I recorded this audio file this morning. This is what I have been enduring for the last 2 months, almost every day, almost 2x per day, 5 days per week. Can anyone still say that this is normal?
And I am not going to be civil anymore. I tried that for 2 months and its getting me nowhere. I have to think about myself too. All because a someone wishes to have a child and that person know what kind of child it is yet she still moved in this condo knowing fully that it would disturb other people. That is selfish. What is even more selfish is the father. He wants nothing to do with that child and now I have to deal with that mess because he does not want to take responsibility.

Can I ask what makes thai food so great other than fried chicken with basil, tom yam and som tam? I mean I strictly eat foreign food nowadays since thai food is really boring and unhealthy.

Update
Noise from my neighbors woke me up for the umpteenth time. That kid was having a tantrum again just before going to school like every single day! I went to complain and this time the mother didn't even open the door. She immediately called the office and a guard came running to "arrest" me. I was just standing in front of her door.
Once again the foreigner is the bad guy. I have told the office that I have endured this noise for several months now and this is only the second time I complain and only after I woke up but they just didn't listen to me. I hate it that you are at a severe disadvantage in this country and you just have to bent over and take one. I seriously don't know what to do know other than make her life as uncomfortable as possible to force her to move out.

7.1 liters of alcohol per day is about half a drink of spirit per day. If you look at the male population they drink about 2 shots per day. That is classified as a moderate drinker.
Hardly anything to worry about. I drink that much.

I disagree. They are the one that wanted kids not me. I think its extremely selfish to think she wants me to carry the burden of her child too. She should have thought of that before moving in or better yet before having kids
And I have this theory about the father since I rarely see him. My guess is that he dumped this brat next door since he doesn't want deal with him either. He just pops by once in a while. This kid is such a difficult kid to raise. He starts crying at 6-7 in the morning every single day (except weekends) and in the most ridiculous way too. I am still sleeping at 6-7. Its not fair to let me deal with this kid while the father is comfortably somewhere else.

I have recently moved to a new apartment because my old apartment was also incredibly noisy.
Well it was all good for 2 months but then 1.5 month ago a family moved in next door and they have a kid that cries and screams every single day. I have complained to the owner and the mother and they just say sorry but nothing changes.
I just can't take it anymore. At this moment its extremely difficult to restrain myself. What is the proper way to deal with these sort of things? Can I call the police? Last time I just moved to a new place and I lost my deposit. This time I gave the owner a massive amount of cash for the deposit. I hate to lose it
-
So instead of arresting the residents that obstructed the police, they just decided to call it a day? You can literally do anything in this country with impunity

So he was trying to steal stuff naked?

Why is it that Thai people always have to seek approval from their American master. What has America got to do with the problems in Thailand?
-
Thailand is actually quite good if you are a retired foreigner and as long as you avoid the noise/air pollution in Bangkok and Northern Thailand. Cheap, good internet, good medical facilities, decent food and weather.
Although I wouldn't want to be a Thai worker here though. Low pay, long hours, unsafe and unhealthy working/living environments. Its just downright nasty .

Now that the elections are voided, will pheu thai be held responsible for creating this mess and wasting tax payers money despite being warned many times. This gross incompetence has to have legal consequences.

What makes these people so important that they can pick their own trustees to decide the future of Thailand? One is a caretaker PM and the other one is just a regular dude.

They should pass a law here that punishes gross incompetence. Any politician that is guilty of gross incompetence can not be re-elected.
Because now you have people like Chalerm that are just cancerous to this country. He is just there to leech taxpayers money to his own bank accounts and he has been doing this for decades. What has he achieved?

I am confused. I read that in 2008 Potjaman was convicted for corruption, she jumped bail and fled the country. And then she suddenly shows up at emporium in 2014.
Did she already served her time? Didn't they confiscate her assets? How does she have money to shop at emporium?

Oh god. Let me guess... American?

So they are selling it at B11.000 baht per ton now but YL said it would be cost neutral for the government. Another one of their prophecies that didn't happen.

Why do they still need the senate to impeach her if she is guilty?
And a 5 year ban is a pretty meager sentence for bankrupting the country, extreme negligence. There should at least be a prison sentence

I was slightly rooting for the PDRC but this makes me think twice. I consider it freedom of speech to discuss such a thing and if the majority of the thai people agrees with it then I don't see any harm.
Why do they always have to use strong words here like treason, rebellion or defamation.

Funny how he accuses Bangkok for wanting a dictatorship. Yet it is actually Thaksin that shows the most characteristics of a dictator. Lets see
1) Abuse of power for personal gain
2) Fleeing from justice
3) Trying to whitewash his crimes by implementing a new law
4) Tries to get an elected senate so that he can just buy his way in and replace all the members of the senate with friends/family
5) Having all political positions occupied by family members or friends.
A dictatorship is where you don't get to vote for the big boss.
Thaksin and Yingluck were both elected by the people, so not a dictatorship.
The yellow leaders were chosen by coup, so dictators.
Dictatorship isn't defined by corruption, it's defined by lack of votes.
1,2,3 Not connected to dictatorship.
4,5 is normal democracy in action, if you don't like it, don't vote for him.
I know what a dictatorship is. You don't have to lecture me.
I am just saying that he shows the characteristics of a dictator. And if he keeps on getting elected in the future he is going to slowly take away the power of the people and transform it from a faux dictatorship to a true one. Tweak a few laws here and there. Add a few that only benefits his family. They probably wouldn't notice it until its too late.

If he really was smart why didn't he attend a top tier university like Chulalongkorn. It does not make sense to pay more for an inferior name. Especially in Thailand where face and prestige means a million times more than in the West. Even in the West I wouldn't have the time and resources to interview 1000s candidates in search for hidden talent. Screening on education is quick, efficient and has a higher probability of success. That is how HR in every part of the world works, buddy. It has nothing to do with my abilities.
In Thailand it just does not make sense to get a degree from a worthless institution unless he just was not smart enough for top tier universities.
