  1. I find Chalerm the most shocking one. According to wikipedia they already seized 32 million baht in 1991. Now in 2014 he has 170 million baht. He had to have an average salary of about 7.7 million baht per year as a politician without spending a single dime.

How can this guy still walk freely in thailand without people calling him a crook in public. Even more shocking people keep on voting for him for more than two decades.

  2. When you watch it on video it takes almost for ever to let the slip go. Why didn't one of her staff stop her?

Because they are thai people and they are embarrassed to against the flow. Even if in this case it was the correct thing to do. They are not going to risk public embarrassment. Not even when they are 99% sure.

  3. I don't know if this has been mentioned already but doesn't anyone else think its a little be strange the the elections are so soon?

It has probably a little bit over a month since the elections were announced. I have not seen any campaigns at all or any debates on TV whatsoever. How can the people make an informed decision that they will have to live with for the next 4 years if parties haven't had time to explain their program to the people?

I don't understand why they rush it. They will win the elections anyway.

  4. It may be off the table for now but it hasn't been torn up yet.

It's just been hidden away to be produced at a later date.

She was asked that exact point - that it could be brought back after 180 days, or something like that. She said it wouldn't.

However, the main reason I came to this thread was to comment about how badly she conveyed her answers to the interviewer. A lot of the time the interviewer had a deep frown on her face as if she was trying to understand what YS was saying.

YS was just babbling, almost panicking, and saying the usual words without forming many coherent sentences. It really was a poor performance. Even worse than her brother.

I just found the video. Watch it if you have the mental fortitude. The amnesty bill is discussed is at about 11:30:

Wow this is just horrible. Out of all the decent and qualified people in this nation they picked Yingluck to represent and lead the country. Just unbelievable

  5. Don't really care about one persons opinion.

I am still being worshipped like a god by most thai people while I am essentially a glorified sex tourist. I am living a wealthy decadent lifestyle that is being financed by tax money and one opinion is not going to change that. Thank god for imperialism. Had it not been for imperialism I would be working in a noisy old factory for 15.000 baht per month. Now I am enjoying the life whilst posting endless rants on TV and most thai people still bow down for me. If only they knew.

  6. He is directly benefitting from the corruption of his family. Didn't this kid get a preferential treatment for the manchester united game? Aren't there smarter kids in this country that don't have to opportunity to go to an international school?

I think its fair game. Look at his decadent lifestyle and tell me he is innocent.

  7. spearheading the demonstration at the Democracy Monument

    Freedom of speech

    instigating people to stop working

I do that all the time

leading a massive intrusion into the Budget Bureau, Finance Ministry and Public Relations Department yesterday. The Public Relations Department is located adjacent to the Finance Ministry.

I did not know that entering a public building is forbidden by law.
