Today i got a letter from Truevisions and inside were two credit notices for 2000 baht and 404 baht

I'm guessing that the 2000 baht is the returnable deposit? But the 404 baht has confused me.

Anyone get this in the mail as well? Can anyone make some sense of this for me?

If you want Setanta it is on the cheaper Entertainments package with True. A downgrade on True plus the full CTH package is probably going to be not a lot more than the True Gold package is now and should get you a lot more channels to potentially watch. Whether having loads of channels is a good thing - we'll wait and see.

I checked the Truevision's website they dont have Setanta on the cheaper packages anymore only on Gold upwards,Please correct me if I'm wrong

As an employee you must be registered in the tax-system and will receive a tax-id card. Every year, at the end of March you must file tax at the local Revenue Office. Whether you have to pay tax or not will depend on the salary and allowances. A copy of the tax clearance receipt and the PND91 tax form might be a requirement from the Labour Office and Immigration Office when applying for a renewal or extension of stay.

carrick is an interesting shout nev but a bit too considered for this sort of headliney nonsense.

three most impactful players have been bale, suarez and van persie by a mile. van persie will probably get it simply for helping united win the title. gerrard's had an amazing season by the way but won't get much credit for it. arguably my favourite player to watch has been cazorla.

Nah - vanP has not dominated the scorers list nor scored a hatful of stunning goals this year. Last year he seemed to be untouchable whereas this year he has had games where he has been nondescript. It'll be Bale or Suarez with the latter being the popular choice on terraces and Bale the popular choice with the upstanding football administration types. I reckon the working football journos would go for Suarez. Who chooses?

there are two awards, the PFA award (voted for by the players) and the football writers' award, which is voted for by journalists at the end of the season.

the flaw in the system is that the PFA one gathers its votes in about february or even late january or something daft. so the player of the season isn't based on a season. for that reason alone i think that van persie will get the PFA one because he was on fire up until about february or so. the writers' one will probably be between bale and suarez.

good nods to vertonghen, baines, michu, carrick etc. number of players have had really good seasons but aren't particularly celebrated or headline-grabbers.

also telling that there isn't one single man city player getting a mention in this discussion.

In my opinion if Suarez gets it, that will do me I give up trying to understand the process. Don't you want the Player of the Year to be someone you can be proud of, an example of the beautiful game????

So far this player has omitted to Cheating on the field by falling down then cheated again with the hand ball in the FA cup has been done for Racism,Punched a player in the face and shows terrible sportmanship on the field every game. Here's a new twist I cancelled my work permit with the labour office half way through this month (march) and my visa finishes on the 31st march , I've just gone to a new province to get another 12 month Teaching visa today (28th) and they have told me to return back to the the other province (10 hour away) to cancel the the old visa before the 31st (sunday) it's the 28th today!!!!!!!!. They told me that i will be fined because i didn't cancel the visa the same time as the w/p <deleted>. And i can't get a new visa/w/p until this is done TIT. I'll let you know the out come once i get there.

Well after a 24 hour round trip and only 5 minutes in the my old local office , it turns out there is nothing wrong from my end my visa was cancelled as by request 2 days before the end of the month so i could travel and set up in another area my w/p was cancelled earlier but the two officies dont comunicate and the question of when the w/p was cancelled was never asked by the office. I was on the same visa( 12 months) for the last 4 years and it seems if the two officies dont talk nothing gets cancelled until you ask because i just had 6 weeks difference between end of work and end of visa. But if i didn't cancel the visa before the end of it's life ,next time would of been painful.

Mr xxxxxxxxxx picking up one of his(underage) students in uniform from the middle of the school and taking her home and returning her back to school the next day , Unlucky for him his house is surrounded with parents of students from his school who saw him with this girl , He claimed he was helping her with english all night.

Mr xxxxxxxx was a no show from school for 3 days, The manager from school went to his house to find him in his room with about 20 empty whiskey bottles on the floor , he was in his soiled underpants with a badly broken hand passed out on the floor.

To many Mr xxxxxxxxxx to mention with a slight problem of how young is too young when it comes to their choice of female company , There is a time and place boys !!! and it isn't in your own backyard.

I'm looking for one room in a guesthouse for myself on the 28th December to the 1st January , I know i have lefted it late but could only confirm my holiday at last minute from my work here in Thailand. We are not in a big town... Small place about 45km out of Surat.

My wife teaches every evening for 1 1/2 hrs except Fri.

2 sessions for adults on Tues and Fri daytime (again 1 1/2 hr sessions)

Then she does 4 sessions on both Sat and Sun.

So all up about 21 hrs a week.

It seems to be going well and everyday we are getting more enquiries.

Think most of the parents would send their children to Surat and pay a lot more for the privilege if we hadn't started this little venture !

Don't make enemies there. It might look alright, but some greedy guys might not like that you're taking their customers away. Even if it's not true.

Best of luck mate i've been doing the same thing for awhile now and enjoy it also. Good advice about the greedy guys i upset some by doing my own thing (always a fellow ex pat too) keep it low key is my advice

We recently discussed some of these issues at a seminar. many agreed that it would be better to put masses of native speakers into government schools to teach conversation classes and relax licensing requirements for them - they are teaching only conversation after all, but there could be a TEFL requirement for such positions. Accordingly, the salaries would be lower than English Program teachers - for those that qualify for the teaching licence. 20K is still way too low for any degree holding teacher. Despite having a huge budge, the MoE still shows they are not so serious about allocating funds for english language training. It's still really only students from English Programs and International Schools that speak a reasonable amount of english.

Sounds like a common sense idea to me , This seminar did it have any Thai teachers or government officials involved, that might have a say in this countries education
