Local Gov. has contigent fund for emergency to expedite. Central Gov. will be there for greater support. this is wide area natural disaster. Unlike Railroad stirke in the south, which is supposedly to be manageable. The gov. can act immediately. But it waited for many days to start clearing up, while people left stranded in the middle of nowhere. Let's see what they can cope with the flood situation a little while longer.

In the area of protecting the right over Pra Viharn area, and zoning in the Gulf of Siam, Thai gov. (Armed Forces included) is too soft, and too shy. Over appointment of TS advisory post, it over reacts. Thailand need not create an enmity out of Cambodia or other neighbours. Abhisit has many times shown his desire to be tough, all at the wrong times. Where he should be more open and direct, he dodges and goes around. Where he should be more diplomatic, he is childishly rude and stiff. If he cannot take he leader roles right, how we can trust him to lead. What is Thailand gain in going blatantly against Cambodia? A popular PM?

If his move can be easily predicted, why he's freely tweeting out of the cage.

Just before the ASEAN Sumit, Khmer PM said he would let TS stay in Cambodia, for extradiction treaty does not cover political conviction. He may even offer an adviser to PM position to TS. Abhisit then threated Khmer PM to concentrate only on the summit, or face the consequence of Thailand pull out its assistance to Cambodia if he would bring TS case up to the public again. Hun Sen did keep quiet, and Thai PM thinked he had won. Then early this week, the Khmer King Sihamuni endorsed the appointment of TS to PM advisory post. Abhisit is enraged. Firt he said it will not effect the two countries relation. Dr. Panithan saying the same, but added there would be some complication in the relation. A few hours later, Abhisit order teh Thai Ambasador pull out, and a review to all agreement/ treaties it has with Cambodia. My points is it is true to many that TS case is a political motivate, so my dear Abhisit had made a wrong move threatening Khmer PM. And it blown up out of proportion to pull back the ambassodor for TS appointment. Now for me, Abisit is as a child throwing tantrum, and TS would be viewed as a traitor by many Thai if he accept the post. Two Thais loss their status que, one Khmer PM is able to rid dependency to neighbour country, make himself a braveheart David who breaks the giant.

Ink's OP in B-Post forum is most read and responded topic. After some 700 replies, he quited It may have something to do with Post Forum editing policy.
Personally, I view the conviction is hard to believe, including the pursuant requests to strip TS of rank and royal decorations from this particular case. Something wrong with your car, it's gasohol.

I like sentimental Thai comments, and farang's expression of matter of fact view points. So, the Sultan wasn't at TS' house. He and some other leaders didn't attend the opening ceremony. Are these things affect ASEAN summit progress? Heard that many leaders were so bored by the host's bragging. Was it so?

Wait until they build an entire three day Parliament debate around this ring. The government is robbing the country blind, they'd scream. Abhisit accepted a gift worth four thousand baht, they'd scream. Thief!
How about 500 baht gas bill paid to the driver for driving Samak to a cooking show, toppling Samak from seat. Cause, that payment made him an employee of the TV show, by definition beyond any law.

Have the yellow shirts instigated any violence in Chiang Mai? Red shirt violence here is well-documented, but I've yet to hear of yellow shirts being involved in violent conflict, other than being on the receiving end. And yes, I'm specifically talking about Chiang Mai.
You didn't see TV report on PAD guys shooting at people freely on the way to lay siege at Suvannabhumi Airport? shooting into the Paliament? Skewered the police with flag pole? How they chased and hurted Bhumisrol locals twice on both occasions protesting at Pra Viharn shrine? dead body found at Don Muang airport, bodies dumped into Chao praya river? Come On! Red violence, yellow violence what the different. We just need them to stop it. Not for god or anyone up there, but for ourselves. The attempt is better than doing nothing.

The only sensible course of action is to start moving Bangkok to higher ground in stages. Universities to one area. Manufacturing to another. Government to another, and perhaps Royalty and Sangha focused on another area.
What a great idea. I suggest that the Government remove themselves to Timbuktu. No flooding there.
We need BMA action now. Not future plan.

I'm just curious what will he do attached to PM's office. Another inactive position created to wast taxpayers money ...
Pity on him. And why not award that to Anupong too! for incompetency and doing nothing last October. neglected Khao Praviharn border protection, and southern unrest.

We will have Lim Sondhi run for PM seat against Newin Chidchob, Aphisit Vejachiva in the next election, if he wouldn't be jailed by then. My, I'm curious who'd pay his bills.

It seems many members here are having a jovial time for sarcasm over TS visit to Cambodia. I'm having less good time trying to get on with my works, and to sort things out why our government is so jumpy in this matter.
My sincere congratulations !
