Indeedy he is. As the posts with a grip on self gratification, he won't wanna try it again. Stick to the Holesalers. Mind you the nick tells all. ' first hole from the back of the neck '
Thanks for flaming and the intent of insulting me, Doc...
Anyway, thanks for all the serious replys!! I'm not a troll. And I will not bother anyone on this board with my posts any more.

P.S. More importantly..... 99% of respondants (sp) suggested that you dump the girl.
Did you or not?
Well, some people never learn!!
Let's say, I am about to, still sorting and finding out details about what went wrong...
-
So, you are thinking about a buffalo then!
Good idea..... it won't cheat on you
I guess so. And it won't have internet either...

Same. Why does a GTG ask for money? Maybe some do but many others dont. So i'd rather go for a GTG but who doesnt ask for money. So null vote from me.
In her case:
1. greedy parents, who have lots of dosh, but want the money back 'right away', which they paid for daughter's college education (even though she's still studying)...
2. She wants to 'have a business' (not having any business plan, nor finances for it). Main reason: see #1. Prospective source of finance for business: (any) 'farang'.

Well guys, you can surely guess the reason for my poll!
I had both, hookers and "GTG's" (two in 7 years), the last "GTG" actually wanting
the same money from me as a bargirl, because of 'us having sex'...
I can remember, having had bargirls who did really like me, staying for the same or even less money, actually taking much better care of me 24/7 than my last "GTG", who only kept complaining, living in another place, sometimes not even calling me for one full week, while asking for P4P!!
Who do you prefer, "supporting" a "GTG", or having a 100% good time with a bargirl??
-
The OP seems to have vanished.
I hope he is OK.
He has dumped the cheating chick and taken up with the buffalo.
No, not yet...
Well, the story gets even weirder!! With internet chat rooms and my ex-girlfriends pic and her gay friends (fellow students) fooling 50 or 60 'falang' in a 'game' called
"play the monkey"...
More about that when I have more time...
Anyway, guys be careful with such internet contacts!

My GTG girlfriend, with whom I have a serious relationship since 17 months is cheating on me (since 6 months)!! It started back then when my girlfriend's mother insisted that she moves out of my flat into another (friend's) flat, 'as we are not married'... She's a student, 20, who has changed over the last six months a lot. I just started to understand why... After moving into her friend's flat we saw each other only every couple of days or even weeks, she claimed that she travelled together with dad to Bangkok... I've found out that she placed profiles on several internet dating sites (had too much time away from me?), and also joined chat rooms. We had some arguments why we saw each other less and less often. After all, I have never even looked at any other girls since I know her!! I supported her every month financially, her college fees, motorbike etc, etc...
She keeps lieing to me!! Hey, she might actually have met and have sex with other guys in Bangkok, contracting HIV!! I'm really scared as for Aids. I don't understand her. But I still LOVE her!!
I guess, that she's afraid to die, as she has a serious medical heart condition. She thinks, that neither me, nor her parents can pay for the surgery.
What should I do?? Should I dump her? After all, she's not a bargirl, not 'butterflying' for the money. Should I just try how it works out over time?

The Thai consulate in Penang is the best location. Go down first with just a company employment letter - that gets you a single-entry 90 day visa. Use that visa to enter Thailand and get a non-immigrant entry permit. With that, get a work permit. Then - when your 90 days are almost up, return to Penang with work permit, and another company employment letter, and they will give you a one-year, multiple-entry visa.
So I really can get a one-year multiple-entry Non "B" in Penang if I meet the following criteria:
1. Having had a single Non "B" before.
2. Having my work permit (good for 90 days) with me on travel.
3. Having a Letter of Recommendation from my employer??
-
If you did have the "extension of stay" you could have the new employer issue the work permit: so your work permit would be valid for both companies. Then quit one job and have that permit removed. So they basically need to overlap for the extension to be seamless.
You mean, I can just add a new employer once I have a new employment contract
on the old 1-year work permit extension,
e.g. work permit extension ends on June 30, so I hurry to have the new employer in my work permit booklet on June 29... (??)
BTW, how does it work if I move on to an employer in another province, say from Ratchaburi to Mukdahan?? :huh

Sore throat silences PM
At last!!

I'm about to change jobs. I don't have a job offer yet.
Which visa, after my current employment contract expires, can I use to apply for a new job in Thailand - a Tourist visa or Visa on Arrival (I live near the border.)?

Way too much. I believe the maximum sentence is 2000 Baht or 1 month in prison.
Would be very unusual to get a prison sentence.
You have now made it harder for the rest of us, the police now think all farang will pay out 60,000 baht for a very minor crime.
Just deny it!!!!!! Then say, OK, It wasn't me but here is 5,000 baht for your trouble. Stand up for yourself, call their bluff.
You have been conned. Why the ###### are you giving her 5000 baht a month?
BTW, I understand why you handed out leaflets.
BTW, there is a 30 baht medical scheme for Thais.
Thanks guys for the good advice!!
And yes, I was fooled by the girl and conned by the police!
As for the 30 baht scheme, no, obviously heart surgery isn't included. (But then again, it was the girl who told me that.)
-
Sounds to me like you picked the wrong girlfriend... but the leaflets were a pretty dumb idea, even if there weren't a chance of a libel case. Grow up!
"Steven"
1. "...Grow up" Right.
2. "wrong girlfriend" Yes, she's 'Problem Girl'. She has a serious heart condition, so I may (voluntarily) end up with much more than 60,000, paying for heart surgery, if we get together again...

For section 326 the comment, "Likely to injure the reputation of the person, or expose the person to public hatred, or contempt", must have been made to a Third Party.
Max penalty 1 year in Prison, or 2000 baht, or both.
This may help?
Are you sure it's only a max. 2,000 baht fine?? Well, I made a bad mistake by printing and distributing leaflets calling my ex-girlfriend a #@$*e, because she was attempting to butterfly...
I was really upset and angry on that day. No surprise, that she came with the police who told me that it would be 200,000 baht (!!) once it came to court.
We settled on 60,000 plus, 'signing' a contract in English, which requires me to pay her 5,000 plus baht every month... (This contract, in which I agreed to "voluntarily ... pay" is mentioned in a police report, which I signed "Don't understand...". So what is it worth??

What are the (maximum) penalties for defamation of a natural person by a foreigner according to Thailand's Penal code?
Where can I find the Thailand Penal Code (especially code 326) in English?

For those of us that live and work in Thailand, who have savings here - what is the consensus on what we should be doing?... Gold which as we now is a readily changeable commodity here.
Living in LOS, I usually invest all my cash in Thailand's most precious commodity: women...
And yes, they really love gold!
-
I've read that Southern Thais tend to speak quickly and seem to be hot tempered compared to the other regions...
Both's true! Generally they can be friendly too, but are very moody.
-
Baaksida...It's interesting that the Muslims in that area are nice to you considering some of the Muslim views towards Westerners...
It must be tough for you to live around people like those neighbors of yours...Hat Yai is very mixed with a lot of Chinese and Thais not to mention Westerners. I hope you can find a way to deal with those nasty neighbors without getting in trouble.
Yes, it's tough. You get insulted all the time down here. Mostly by Chinese Thai, 'businesspeople', food vendors, taxi drivers and old people. But never by Muslims...
-
I was wondering what other people's experiences have been.
For me, the unfriendliest place I have been is without doubt Nakhon Si Thammarat. The locals there seem to take a perverse pleasure in pissing off outsiders and I mean Thais as well as farangs.
Anyone care to comment?
Unfortunately, it's exactly the same down here in Hat Yai.
I live in a mansion in a 'baan', all alone among Thai people. (My girlfriend moved to another place, but that's another story...)
The same people who give alms to monks in the morning are bitching all day "Falang baah, falang ngo..." about me.
The only people in this part of Thailand who respect me are...
- the (fellow) Thai teachers
- my students
- people who know me
- rich people
- people who have been abroad
- very simple people (basic education and don't sell anything)
- government employees
- Muslims (That's ironic, as I'm a Buddhist myself!).
All people who sell food (or other stuff) or services are downright hostile towards me. Also old women and motorbike-taxi drivers.

Heavy drinking leads to dementia in old age[/quote
Solution: drink like a hole as long as you're young. Once in dementia you'll hardly find your way to 7-Eleven...

Until he show them 300K thai baht in cash they suddenly changes their mind and set up and account for him..And the bank officer also offer that guy cofee ...
If this is no reason to park that much dosh for 0.75% a year!!
As a coff-a-holic I'd go for it, getting a free cuppa...

Even returning on a re-entry permit means the count for 90 days starts
every time they do come back, so no need to report as long as they stay incountry
for less than these 90 days.
BTW, can I expect a phone call from my local immigration checkpoint, if I leave the country with a re-entry permit, not reporting my address this time, even though I'm due to, having reported my address every 90 days for the previous five years or so... (Will they think I forgot it??)

maybe this is an old subject, but how much are you officially allowed to carry into thailand
As much as you want to bring. To be allowed to take out $US 10,000 or equivalent again you need to declare it on arrival.
If you bring more than 10,000 (?) USD (or equivalent in other currencies) in cash into the country, you'll have to fill out a form and declare it.

There's already a Formosa Airlines.
And there's already an Air China , flying from and to the PRC.
