My experience from the threads that's it's almost a standard requirement since covid.

Partly due to document check chicks.

I suggest print it out if you have one.

There is print shop next door to immigration.

I just returned from immigration at Laksi. As always in my case, no TM30 needed. In and out in under 1h.

Just for info my printed TM30 screenshot was not accepted at CM today, not sure why. I had to queue to get the correct TM30 and then queue again to get my stamp. No big deal but another 30 mins. This was for a visa exempt extension.

I thought visa exempt extension can only be made at Laksi. Based on your feedback at CW, I'd recommend Laksi. Staff was friendly this time, including the document check 'chicks'.

It's probably better to not show any TM30 and try without it first. Once they saw your screenshot, they insisted on a correct one.

    Yes. Done at Laksi.

Those with tourist visa attend CW.

You will need to provide TM30.

    You can make appointment.

    Thanks!

I need to go this week. Earliest appointment available is mid May.

I will just show up there and update here if a TM30 was really needed. I did it in the app but it's not a printout. I have never been asked for a TM30 ever (in 15 years).

You could book a refundable flight. To apply for an April 28 or 29 arrival date, and then still use your Thailand Pass for May 2, with the new +7 or -7 days change.

With the +7 or -7 change, it's expected people will have different flights than the initial one.

I doubt you will get it in 35 hours. People exactly like you will be waiting on April 29 for the new system. Plus, you have to factor in the time staff of the Thailand Pass are sleeping/not working (different time zone). So it's more like a 10 hour window.

Although, losing 10K baht might be better than being stuck at a Bangkok airport without a Thailand Pass. Anyway, good luck.

I guess this cold even work. However, I called the hotline today and they recommended the following scenario (also the only solution they could think of):

Wait till new TP system is online, apply for it without hotel booking (obviously), complete the application, call the support hotline to expetide the process and receive the tP qr code quickly before departure.

Still some luck needed, but I give this one a try. Thanks for the suggestions!

    Hey hav,

Thailand Pass is valid +7 or -7 days of the date on the Thailand Pass (see news section, this was from a change a week ago).
If you don't mind applying with the old system, and with the old requirements, your April 29 Thailand Pass, according to the new change, would be valid for your May 1st arrival.

Thanks for the suggestion, but i doubt that works because my booking which I need to upload to TP system indicates arrival date in May. Don't think applying for TP with arrival date in April would be successful.

I will risk it with the new system going live April 29th and hopefully receive a TP within 35hours. If not, I will rebook the flight a few hours before scheduled departure...and pay the 10k thb.

  5. Same problem here. I booked my return flight to Thailand a month ago. It is on 30.4. and i will arrive in Thailand on 01..05.

I was about to apply for Thailand Pass with the old conditions including a hotel booking with PCR test, but i can't even choose any date other than in April.

This means there is only 1 way for me: apply for Thailand Pass with new regulations (no hotel and PCR) on 29.04. - if it really goes live then - and hope for approval of Thailand Pass within a few hours since my flight is at noon local time here on 30.04.

What a nonsense! They should at least allow me to apply under the old regulations. Cheaper than rebooking my flight (10k thb fee).

  6. So every office (officer?) has different rules?!

Situation at MTT in BKK seems to be different: it used to be 60 days from the day your visa/exempt expired, but you would receive an under consideration stamp and would have to come back after ~14 days (my experience mid last year),

Then they changed to giving the full 60 days straight away again starting from the expiry date of your visa (my experience this month).

now however there are no appointments available until the 30th april.

Damn, you just gave me a shock. I need to go to counter K before end of April to extend my stay (first corona extension).

You made me take a look now and book an appointment. First slot I picked was available.

    @ubonjoe:

Additionally to TM7, i need this Covid19-Extension-Affidavit. Do they provide this like they provide the TM7 at immigration? No need for me to find a printer in BKK?!

In the e-mail confirmation, they post a link listing TM7 and STM2. Can I get this STM2 at immigration as well? Nothing mentioned there about the affidavit.

These are my friend's fears... Hope it's not true... Are there any reports of people arrived visa exempt or SETV who got 60d Covid extension after 1st 30d extension?

Please let us know next month when you apply for it, thanks... Now you have 'under consideration' stamp, or 30d ext. stamp?

I extended my visa exempt by 30 days. the standard procedure that was available before covid as well.

I haven't read about someone who entered on a visa exempt recently and was able to extend it by 60 days based on covid extension.

There are some reports where tourist visas could be extended by 60 days based on covid extension (after the standard 30 days extension) at Chonburi/Jomtien immigration here:

  9. I hope that's true.

When I entered the room, she was already looking and waving towards me, like she was ready for some fresh meat. Have to avoid that lady next time - if i decide to try the covid extension in Bangkok.

Maybe it has to do with my arrival in February though. I can fly here during the pandemic, so I can also leave during the pandemic :P

  10. Ok, it was pretty straightfoward. In and out in under 30minutes.

I tried to apply for covid extension but was told I needed to extend my visa exempt by 30 days first. Reason: travel. I also didnt receive any other document to sign. TM7 only. No affidavit.

    Nothing mentioned about TM30 either.

I was told to come back before end of March and to prove my return flight is cancelled plus something about a letter from embassy. Then i would receive the covid extension on top. But there are return flights every 2-3 days so this won't work for me.

    Immigration was MTT in BKK.

  11. They didn't tell you about possible flights going back like the other immigration?

I am asking because I went to immigration in Bangkok today. I tried to get the covid extension first, but they insisted to give me the 30 days standard extension first (my first one based on visa exempt. I arrived in February this year). On TM7, they changed 60 days into 30 days and the reason for extension was changed from 'covid situation' to 'travel'.

They told me to come back before end of March to get the covid extension but they need to see that my return flight is cancelled. And she mentioned something about a letter from the embassy. Otherwise I won't receive the covid extension and have fly back home. So I might try the Jomtien immigration as well.

Btw, no place issued a TM30 for me and it was not an issue at all at immigration. Nothing mentioned about it.

That is out of date info. You will not need a letter from your embassy.

The TM30 report the hotel you stayed in might work if you used that address on your application form.

Thanks for the hint. I called the hotel. They said they didnt file a tm30 because the system was down. They e-mailed me a screenshot showing 1 row: my name, entry nationality, entry stamp date, entry stamp expiry date, and so on. I will just go with the current address and see how it goes - although the new place confirmed they didn't file a tm30 either.

It's an extension of 30 days for visa exempt. standard procedure. not even related to covid extensions. the covid one i will try in another 30 days - if renewed, but most likely so. Is that another counter then? This time i booked appointment for counter K.

    Will report back.

  13. Sorry for creating this thread but the more I read and talk to people, the more confused I get.

The search function also doesn’t work for me. I looked at the last 5 pages and uses the 'find in page' function in Chrome to look a for thread that might help me.

My situation is quite easy - so I thought:

I entered on a visa exempt in February. I received 45 days at the airport which will expire next week.

Extending my stay in Bangkok sounds like the following:

    -Prepare a copy of passport/entry stamp/tm6 and a photo (4x6cm).

-Necessary to make an online appointment for counter K at Muang Thong Thani at http://203.151.166.132/immigrant_queue/booking/

(TR-60 and STV are allowed to walk-in)

    image.png.6f0cb3aa3d0e3089abf9b2590799c443.png

-Go to the 4th floor, counter K at Muang Thong Thani, fill out TM7, pay 1900thb, done.

    Is that correct?

    But what about this TM30?

I lived here 3 years ago. Stayed at a friend’s condo from day 1 for a year. He never filed a TM30 for me. I was able to extend my stay based on visa exempt and tourist visa every time without an issue. But maybe times have changed...

I asked the place where I am staying right now (mix of aparthotel/condo). They say they never file a TM30 for anyone who lives here (and there are many foreigners living here). They only gave me a photocopy of this house registration book after I had mentioned the TM30 (and they told me to extend my stay at Chaeng Watthana which is obviously wrong).

I stayed in quarantine and afterwards I stayed at a hotel for 3 nights. Hopefully, these places filed a TM30 for me.

I will report back what happens at immigration next week.

One last question: Is there a different process/counter/form for the standard 30 days extension and the 60 days covid extension? They will probably issue the 30 days first but if it's the same process, I can give it a try to go for the 60 days.

Thanks, and I will let you know how it went.

Btw, I hope the following won't apply when I go for the extension:

    image.png.2aabd2de4d03d5caa234b36744b916a0.png

  14. That's weird.

I think the lab result has to be in English. That's why test centers at the airports here always offer an English lab result free of charge. I opted for a confirmation of my passport ID though, 10 Euro extra. Just to be sure.

Maybe I just misunderstand what they wrote. Maybe they mean medical certificate (lab test) showing a lab test result 'negative'. But i am not taking this risk and will let a doctor sign a  document saying I am corona negative.

Hav, I also booked through Agoda and the Agoda receipt does clearly state ASQ. If so then it should be Ok.  My entire COE Process was a mess.  My COE application was rejected 3 times because the Consulate claimed the Airline Reservation and ASQ confirmation were not “reviewable”??? Unfortunately I uploaded 3 documents 3 times in a matter of 3 days.  I uploaded both the Agoda confirmation and the specific hotel confirmation letter into the COE web portal.

A few days ago I finally got my COE via email link.

Once you get the link to download your COE an additional document must also be downloaded(Form T-8-Health Declaration).  This form is the part of documented needed to board your flight.  Of course the most important forms that have to be completed now are the RT-PCR Covid 19 Test and Fit 2 Fly.

I gave myself 30 days to complete the entire process(Visa and COE) and the entire process took 23 days.  I never believed the entire process could be completed in 15 days claim.

    Good luck your journey.

They approved it! it always took around 1-2 days for each COE step to be approved. That was quick.

Since i didnt apply for a visa, I did everything within a week.

Next week off to PCR test, visiting doctor for fit to fly certificate, and then 2 days later my plane will take off.

Problem in Germany is the requirement to have a PCR test AND a medical certificate saying I am corona negative!

    Embassy's website:

"Medical certificate in English certifying that you are free from Coronavirus COVID-19, together with a laboratory test using RT-PCR, issued no older than 72 hours before departure".

They also mentioned this T8 form and the app.

  16. same. step 2: hotel and flight.

Unfortunately, i uploaded the booking confirmation from Agoda. One day later I received the booking confirmation letter from the hotel which the embassy probably wants to see to grant the COE. I didnt know the hotel would send me this.

I am a bit in a hurry. I hope they accept the Agoda one or at least reject it quickly so I can upload the hotel letter.

A fit to fly certificate - nothing to do with the covid test result - is a simple declaration by a medical doctor that you are fit to fly. There are no criteria, there is no model certificate. The words ‘fit to fly’ are crucial and must appear in the text. I used this simple, straightforward text and had it signed by my GP:

Thanks, but i was refering to a certificate in addition to the covid PCR test result.

I know about fit to fly certificate, but i didn't mean this.

To translate from Thai embassy in Berlin:

"Medical certificate in English certifying that you are free from Coronavirus COVID-19, together with a laboratory test using RT-PCR, issued no older than 72 hours before departure"

So they seem to request the PCR test result from the lab AND a document from a doctor confirming this test result. I will set this up and get it signed by the doctor once I have received the test result...just to be sure.
