  1. Frankly, all I can say is BOOO---F*king hoo. If in fact you were in Thailand before the years of Thaksin, you would know that drugs were as easy to by as candy at a 7/11. At least there was a period of crackdown to enlighten Thailand of the deepening "hole" of yabaa use. 2500 to help 70 million realise there was a serious problem. Give me a F*king break. This argument is so NGO it make me sick.

Yabaa is bad, indeed, but the people taken out was the lowest ones on the rung, not anyone of importance. They even fail to capture one of the drug lords that has been on the 'run' [to his mansion] for some 15 years?

And FYI, the availability of cocaine at inner clubs or private parties is still high as ever and wasn't affected by the campaign. Lucky for my friends, I presume. But also highlights that Thaksins campaign infact targeted the poor end-sellers more so than hiso- or larger dealers. Food for thought.

Added: And my apologies for being off-topic.

I disagree with your statement"lowest ones on the rung, not anyone of importance" afterall the lowest of the rung' have significant importnace as they dealt to many many people who previous Thai governments have often regarded as the 'the lowest of the rung' . 2500 innocent people did not die, get over it.

  2. It's a shame that the OP has confused the issue with his inconsistency of detail because there is no doubt many cases of thai wives being mis-treated by their husbands in the Uk just as there are many cases of english wives being mistreated and visa versa and this thread doesn't do any favours for a serious subject.

I suspect the vast majority of thais landing in the Uk have no idea of the massive life change they are about to encounter nor do they give any thought to their legal rights when in the UK.

Perhaps OP could continue his fine work and produce an idiots guide to settling in the UK (making sure he gets it proof read prior to printing)

  3. I knew we were going to win the ashes, I said 100 or so days ago that we have already won it.

I was so confident (in the first few pages) I said if we lose I wont ever come back to Thaivisa.

    Its all over already

Well done, what a wonderful post.No doubt Ponting found inspiration in your previous post to stir his team on to what was without doubt a sensational victory."C'mon boys this one's for Donz"

    PS

Can you tell me who will win the FA Cup this year please?

  4. England are quoted at 6/1 to win the second test. I believe that is excellent value.

With the second test beginning on the 1st December in Adelaide, I think England can scrape a win to equal the series.

    7/1 at premierbet.com

I have just stuck on 20 quid...

I'd go for a draw, when we learn to pick our shots better and pick a team a team who can bowl their top order out then thats the time to be thinking of victory.

    Where's siam?

  5. On the subject of cricket coverage, I've asked UBC to consider making the ESPN/STAR India feed available to subscribers as an alternative to ESPN/STAR SE Asia. I doubt if anything will come of it, but there's no harm in asking.

We watched the Ashes last year in the boozer, and it was an ESPN India production, even though it was pay-for-view.

    Who won?

  6. Australia is the best, tahts all there is to it.

    You cant change facts

I like this post . especially if you pronounce "You cant" in some sort of wide boy cockney accent and then picture yourself talking to Siam.

Yep you can't change facts. :o

  7. So those that claim Daryl Hair is the bastian of fair play and has the moral high ground - as all those that responded to the previous thread on this topic -

please explain how this sits with your previous comments!

In his letter, which was released to the media, Hair said: " I am prepared to retire/stand down/reqlinquish my position on the elite panel to take effect from August 31 2006. This payment is to be the sum of $500,000 details of which must be kept confidential by both parties. This sum to be paid directly into my account by August 31, 2006. ICC may announce the retirement in anyway they wish but I would prefer a simple "lifestyle choice" as this was the very reason I moved from Australia to settle in the UK three years ago."

    :D

Perhaps old Daryl was a bit pissed off with the circus of the last week, and just decided to milk it for what he thought he could get ?

Who knows what has been going on behind the scenes? I wouldn't look at this in isolation - you need to keep your eye on the bigger picture.

I'm sticking to my original comments and would add that I think good old Daryl is worth every penny in fact can we organise a TV whip round?

I'm sure you'd be the first to contribute Mittheip :o

  8. I dont actually think the Pakistan team has said anything to imply that Hair is a racist, maybe some people at one time connected to the team have - but that is entirely different!

and they didn't refuse to come out to play because they 'disagreed with the umpire' - they refused to play because they were branded of cheating! surely you can see the difference?

Having said that i think they handled the situation badly - but should the umpires decision be final even if the umpire himself is going against the spirit of the game - an umpire is not god and to parrot that line out as a defence doesn't take into account exceptional circumstances!

    Hi Mittheimp

I'd love to get in to a debate about the rights and wrongs of what has happened but I'm far too Lazy. However I think too much is being played on this 'we're not cheats/honour card' that the pakistanis are playing and until they change the rules to accommodate the 'exceptional circumstances 'then isn't the umpires decision final?

The real question is - will the ODIs going ahead?

  9. where is the Pie Boy.......must be still picking himself up off the floor after England losing in the football World Cup...... :D:D:D

R u still around Siam? Someone told me you were a figament of Lampards imagination.

I've spent the last few months trying to flog those remaining "Whitewash - Aussies to win ASHES 2005" T-shirts that you sent over.I'm glad you didn't get those 'SIAM got laid!' T-shirts printed --Trading Standards would have been on to us in a flash!

I await your comment dear fellow. :o

  10. It would seem that regardless of the manner of their call, the umpires acted within the laws and spirit of the game.

Refusing to come out to play because they disagreed with the umpires was a very poor decision by the Pakistani team and management.

Why didn't thay simply carry on playing, beat England and then lodge a formal protest? I also don't like the idea that teams can request that certain umpires do not umpire their games. To top it off the Pakistani team have implied that umpire Hair is a racist!

  11. 5. best england formation , robinson , g. neville , JT , ferdinand , A.cole , Scott Parker , Joe Cole, Michael Carrick , Steven Gerrard , Aaron Lenon , Rooney

Looks pretty, but what formation would they play? It would never work- good players don't always make a good team and you'll need to place a centre forward in there to play off Shrek. Its a shame Ashton is injured because he could have given us a new dimension.

Drop carrick & parker from your team & start again. :o

  12. Cheers guys,

Can anyone else confirm or not, as to wether the sole custody document can be done at the local ampur? :o

Mr BoJ; me and wifey sorted the sole custody docs out at the local ampur so it certainly can be done.

I think we have been blessed with a great deal of luck as both of our kids have settled really well,I would take your time over choice of school and look at what support they can offer to your daughter in terms of additional english classes 1:1 teaching etc.I would ask about what funding is avaiable for them to provide this support and what experiance they have had.

There are also a number of excellent programmes for teenagers new to the country that are run in a sunny metropolis not too far from Dale - I can give you details of if your interested.

    Best of Luck

  13. The Fly is holding the Flag...bring on the Japanese.....

Croatia/Brasil are who you should be worrying about!!! :D

    [/quote

Brasil :o ......but we shall make the final 16....and hopefully play England...

Looking at the draw I think the only way England can play your lot is in the semis or the final, lets be honest the Aussies have got a half decent team but they won't be joining England in the semis.

Enjoy your 3 games then put the flag away.

  14. I think it's really cool that you old guys have learnt to use computers, can you tell us what it was like growing up during the great war?

Also at what age do you start to smell of pee?

    :o

Seriously though I think old people are great.

  15. Jesse:

You are a big bore!   Should have stayed home  playing your Nintendo Gamecube!  At least thats something you and I could discuss.  This discussion of yours is a waste of bandwidth and I am so surprised at the amount of people who give you the time of day.  Your story is stale.

    Turok

tell us your story Turok ??

I think he's jealous of all the attention TV's adopted son is gettin' :o

I'm lookin' forward to the "I've fallen in love with a mamasan" thread.
