I will try it and let you know once I hear back from Thai embassy here in Washington DC.

As a side note, the final certificate issued after payment includes a reference to "US Equivalent of $100,000", so feeling a bit more confident now.

I am sure it will still be accepted. The 3.3 million coverage will still be accepted since it is a baseline number for the coverage. If you exchanged $100k USD at 33 baht to the dollar it is 3.3 million.

I will try it and let you know once I hear back from Thai embassy here in Washington DC.

I have never recommended any insurance other than the insurance offered here from the TGIA.

    1. Where is the description of coverage you posted for download show it covers covid 19 treatment.

Did you what you provided on the COE application specifically state that it covered covid 19 from the day you enter the country. Does it cover care if you are asymptomatic when you get a positive infection result.

    2. The $700 is shown on this page for visa exempt on the consulate website.

    3. Use your girlfriends address. They want a address in Thailand after the ASQ hotel stay.

The TGIA "Official" insurance provides THB 3.2 Million coverage.  With the change in the exchange rate, this "official" coverage is below $100,000 (now about $95,000).  Will this be rejected by Thai Embassy or at arrival in Thailand for being less than the USD $100,000 amount?  Do you still recommend this insurance despite this factor?

  4. What the US is doing is double taxing. They charge the anti-dumping duties (which can be as high as 30%) against all imports of a particular product from Thailand (not just against the confirmed dumpers, but against all importers from Thailand of the same dumped product). Then they demand a second deposit of the tax against future imports. So in effect, they apply the taxes twice--once as an import duty, and the second as a deposit against future import duties.

Thailand may charge high duties--but they do not charge them twice!

Just another example of US protectionism that goes unreported in the public media.

  5. We drove as close as we could, but could not get to MBK from Rama 4. Payathai Road was sealed off to everyone by barbed wire. Based on this, I believe MBK remains closed as of May 21.
