  1. Thankyou both for your informative and fast replies, i was considering using the postal method at pattaya for my proof of pension but that sounds like a bit of a lottery now....

Do they do a postal service in the BKK embassy ?

  2. Like handcuff for the helmet.

However more spendy than most Thai helmets

Wonder if they will be showing up in shops around Thailand ?

umm it is sold here already click the link.. also the point is you should still have the helmet...Dont tell me your still using a cheap Thai helmet..grief.

Looks a bit low down for my taste..........just be aware that Soi Dogs dont just piss on tyres...lol

  3. Yup those inconsiderate consuls who volunteer there time to help out hapless Brits...a most thankless job if ever there was one.

I need my pension letter notarized (uk) this month, is the consulate in pattaya (jt) the only place...or would it be better to go the UK embassy in BKK ? is the charge the same, and do you have to wait overnight there also...thanks for any info and times etc...

  4. If you search enough on th web you will find conflicting info. Thus, I'm not sure what water temp will be sufficient. Nor the amount of time required in a tumble dryer.

Front loaders I've seen here are 2.2.kw and around, so wiring is OK.

I'm used to hot and cold water input w/ms for houses with central water heating, thus my question. We won't be using a shower type heater if manual intervention is required.

Gas heater with hot water input w/m sounds good. Tumble dryer - expensive tho - is s second option. Re the gas w/h, did you retrofit or plan?

Thanks for all the excellent info.

Retrofit, into your cold water normal house supply...i mounted my gas heater outside the house on the wall away from wind and rain , i didn`t want any waste gas fumes in the house for obvious reasons ..

Basically you just cut into your house supply be it mains, well or tank fed.

The gas heater has a non mains powered ignition via a flow switch and a pizzo ignition (one battery) so if your house is fed from a raised tank you can still have hot water with a power outage easily..

You need to just plumb it in series in your house feed, and you need a bypass line on it with a ball valve which you can adjust the flow better to give you a mix of hot and cold water on the same line to the house...dead easy to set up and install...

  5. I just fitted a gas water heater (mazuma) 6000 bhat + bottle...great..hot water for washing clothes, hot showers and a hot BATH....well worth the money...

oh and hot water for washing the car , great for removing the flys

  6. Ahh forgot to mention, the fuel filter, fitted at the fuel pump tends to disintegrate. Take out the fuel pump and check it.

Already checked that, and tried the bike with it off...same result..so not the filter...we shall see , could be next tuesday/wednesday before i get the sensor...only problem , my g/f has the run of my car meantime...fingers crossed

  7. Ok, so which sensor is it exactly please...there seems to be two on the right side of the engine, i`ve pulled the one with the two pins but there is another one below it with a single line to it ?

The one i pulled goes into the water cooling circuit...thanks

Yepp, this is right one, the one with the single line is the air-sensor.

Thanks, not in stock but have ordered one...250 bhat....i`ll report back when fitted..

  8. Ok, at least, I located the problem...

    The temperature sensor was broken.

It should have a resistance of ~2000 Ohm when the engine is cold and going down to 200 ohm when hot.

But it had just ~10 ohm, cold or hot. Replaced it and now everything is ok.

I was not able to find a service manual for this bike, but I have a repair manual from a Wave 125i with a nice temperature diagram regarding this sensor.

This was the only thing I couldn't swap+test, because of different threads and connectors. (Click=water-cooled, Scoopy=air-cooled)

thanks to everybody for your help and suggestions

Hi i have the exact same issue on my g/f s 2009 fi click

    What i`ve done so far

    air filter checked/changed

    fuel 91 benzine

plug pulled, gap set to correct gap (feelers)

fuel filter cleaned and delivery through to injector checked, spraying fine

    all plugs wd40 `d

    battery fully charged, and tight

    etc etc...

Oh, and the cost of such sensor...thanks again

  10. You need to train your darling not to surprise you.

Arrange your calendar at least one week in advance.

Any item she doesn't inform you of, one week in advance, will then be discovered to clash with an important meeting of yours.

    (Immigration/bank manager/hospital/dentist/expats club meeting, etc)

You and your wallet can't go with her, bad luck darling, you should have told me earlier.

You should also teach her not to call you Papa, deeply disrespectful when used between sexual partners.

Papa is reserved for non-sexual relationships with men of an older generation.

Agree, l am in Isaan and the few times l have come across the Papa thing is when a guy looks old and his mrs doesn't sad.png . Seems to me that it's for the natives to think the old guy is a carer for the young native. If my mrs referred to me that way l would be a bit pissed off. I prefer darling, which is the norm (I think). biggrin.png

Correct answer Sir, that is exactly when it is used and should be used..

  11. I found a big gas water heater in Home Pro for about 5,600.

Anyone know if they are available cheaper. Don't need a big one.

    Thanks.

I know this is an old thread, BUT i`ve just phone Homepro and they don`t stock any Gas Water Heaters now......Can some please give me info on where to get one....thanks, ragards

  12. If you get the international one it's good everywhere not just Thailand , but a Thai licence is easy to get as well.

I also show them an expired ID only card if they ask for a licence and they never say anything about it. But like the other poster said the insurance would not pay out if they didnt want to.

It`s not an international driving licence, it`s an IDP international drivers permit...which should be held along with a current licence from your home country...and i THINK the IDP is only valid for either 3 or 6 months continuous use, (not sure ?) even although it is a 12 month permit from your issuing office....it wont matter much if you are on a non O as you will be doing a border run every 3 months but if you are on an extension for example, i would check that out as an extension you don`t leave thailand only report....

  13. The bank account has to be in your name only, that is standerd policy.

If you have an income, you can use the combined income method to get an extension of stay. When using the combined method, no need of seasoning the money.

Please advise the OP and others that when using the combo method, it states no seasoning ( but some offices/officers require it seasoned for three months every year) thanks..regards

  14. My cat is trained to bury crap in your garden, which is a great fertilizer. stop worrying unless you have hi-so visitors. whistling.gif

And my dog is trained to eat your cat and crap it back out on your doorsteplaugh.png

Some milk and add a twist of DOT 3 or DOT 4....no harm done....that stops them.

  15. You see you are wrong again, it does matter if the so called provincial offices are not following the rules (and they are part of the nation, after all they are in THAILAND) ..

Here is why it matters, since the change " apply for your extension ONLY AT YOUR REGISTERED province " came in to force...More and more people out side sin city etc are coming across this issue of seasoning...and before you suggest contacting HO , your complaint has to go thru your local head officer (not going to happen)..So how does this relate to your rant, well more and more of the sin city slickers are running for the hills and landing up north ...so therefore it does matter to your flock increasingly...

So after all your advice and words of wisdom, this year i`m going to bring in all 800k just to be on your team....and i know where to turn to for help...

  16. Since we are getting all gung ho crack down on ourselves/ Nanny state cheerleading, how about the people on MARRIAGE extensions? They've got wives and families to take care of. Maybe they should be required to post a 5 million baht bond because Thais are involved and if they die in Thailand, their family gets a guaranteed bounty.

Maybe a new thread is needed about all this -- how we can come up with harsh crackdown on the resident foreigners ideas for Thai immigration so they can squeeze most of us out of Thailand as soon as possible? Yeah, that's the ticket.

    Just saying ...coffee1.gif

Maybe we should have a whip round for all the retirees that can`t manage the 800k, i can manage 800k but prefer the part and part, but as i suggested to you on that other boring thread...just get immigration to follow the rules of no seasoning for that method...i cant really see your argument about the 800k....as it could be 8k or 8 bhat...if you need to bring money in every year the AMOUNT has no bearing on it.....so why harp harp harp on about the 800k boys....

Honestly, I don't even begin to understand your point here. Sorry.

The point is that you keep going on about a bit of slack for the guys that may have missed the cut off date re. the seasoning of their 800k, the same applies to any one using ANY amount of money shown in a thai account for the purpose of retirement extension, NOW I HOPE YOU GOT THAT..R.S.V.P (oh and that`s french, before you call it UK getto speak)...

  18. What would happen if you are a retired person here and have been for 2 years or so and you had to return home for medical reasons and then returned on a retirement visa ...would that cancel out your grandfathered status if changes were made to the current figures....???

I congratulate JT on thinking out of the box re. the thread starter BUT i would rather he used his "spunk" to ensure that the current rules are adhered to by the immigration officers, EXAMPLE it clearly states that there is no seasoning of money in a thai bank WHEN using the Part and Part method.....I have had to show my money part has been seasoned for ( 3 months) for my last 2 extensions based on retirement ....which is wrong....FIX that one why don`t you....

Starting over would indeed CANCEL any grandfathering features. Most definitely.

And what about the second part of my post ???

  20. i have a true box (not Hd) and dish but no subscription so I only get the free channels which now only include 1 English one 'fox'. I am in small village and normal free to air like channel 3 can not be received except by satelite. No tickers have been broadcasted except for channel 9 Being replaced with some kind of new learning channel. Can' afford the packages since I earn Thai money with my small farm. Will.my true box stop working. There are noboxes being replaced around here and about a third of our village has a true box and dish but no package subscriptions. Shops are still selling these old boxes, no hd. There are no telephone lines, cable or internet in the village except using your telephone/edge (3g stops about 1km from here).

Sent from my GT-S6102 using Thaivisa Connect App

I`m the same, i was on true non-hd for a year and i closed it down , paid the one off fee for my true FTA card..to allow the g/f to watch the state channels ...SO, what will happen to us as we`ve paid for the service correctly, and above board with true for FTA state channels....???

AND this thread should not be closed, as it is for legit true users info..
