It seems that you’ve concluded that because Spain has cheaper supermarkets and toiletries, it’s cheaper overall, despite Thailand having cheaper rents, fuel, electricity and water. You must use an extraordinary amount of toiletries!
I don't know about you, but I spend 2-3 times more on food than on rent, fuel electricity and water - which by the way is not that much more expensive in Spain.
Also: top medical care, extremely affordable, unlike in Thailand when you're older.

There is no reason to bring racist innuendo into this.
What racist innuendo? Black boots refers to intolerance on the part of the couple. As in nazi-boots. If anything, the racist shoe is on the other foot.

My wife will accept it when I kiss her on the lips, but she will NEVER initiate it. At times, when I've been a really good boy, or when she is just plain horny, she will sniff my neck, but deeply. That is the time to move in, and play out your game. Only happens once in a blue moon, though.
Other than that, the sexual path between my wife and me is a stony one, sometimes no sex for over a year. Lots of intimacy, but no sex.
I have 2 explanations: 1: asian women don' t care for sex over a certain age (around 45). 2: since I got my wife from the bar, and she is now quite into Buddha, it has something to do with doing penance.
Unfortunately, in either case it leaves me high and stranded. So I got me a (few) mia-noi.
Best not to mention this to wifey, though.

No reason not to respect the flag. *** the afro-american couple involved. Getting too big for their black boots.

Learned a new word today -- cisgender.... I guess I've been leading a sheltered life:
I was scared there for a minute before finding the definition, thinking that Beals had declared herself some kind of new and different sexual orientation beyond those I was already aware of!
But at the end of the day, she's just a boring (not so old) straight woman!
Hah! The word "cisgender" is a recently invented term (1994 first usage) by "woke" people to create the myth that basically you were haphazardly assigned a gender at birth just by looking at your genitals without taking into account that later on in life some people might not feel fully at home in the gender they were assigned to. This seems to occur to about 1% of total population, and instead of just accepting it as a normal thing (hello kathoy thai ladies) they make a big fuss about it and insist on being seen and accepted as women. In the U.K. people even get sent to jail if they don't comply with this imbecilic notion.
Since then so-called "trans-women" have domineered at female sports (duh), there have been nasty incidents in women prisons and girl locker rooms, and what have you.
This madness should be put a halt to. Mental instability should not be catered to in this way.

From Trat they go every day, several times. there are 3 different companies, only 2 of them will drop you of at Subernabhumi, either at the bus station there or directly in front of the terminal.
Departures around 09.00 and 11.00, and sometimes in the afternoon. I would suggest arriving in Trat the day before, and get a ticket for the next day: sometimes they are sold out, this is a very popular line.

I concur. Took me a few years to beat the bar out of the girl, but through sheer perseverance on my part she has turned out to be a loving spouse and a doting mother to our child.
Keyword: purse strings. Keep 'em tight. Cater to her inner asian.

The OP said "serious head wound." I accept that any wound to the head could be serious, but the use of the words "head wound" and "head injury" have different meanings.
Head injury infers a brain injury.
You stand corrected, sir:
A head injury is any sort of injury to your brain, skull, or scalp. This can range from a mild bump or bruise to a traumatic brain injury. Common head injuries include concussions, skull fractures, and scalp wounds. ... A closed head injury is any injury that doesn't break your skull.

Luckily for the foreigner, there were witnesses, and he will be covering his own damage and medical bills, but what if he was to lose a leg, or sustain some other catastrophic injury, the Thai guy should bet charged with serious driving / riding offenses, not matter how much, or how little money he has.
Please allow me to laugh politely, and wish you happy further dreaming...

Going to the Netherlands can also be done on EU rules, since you are Dutch, and have lived abroad. Your wife does NOT have to go the MVV path, you can just come back home and bring your family. They (IND) will ask for proof of residence etc.etc. in the U.K., so do keep every snippet of paper you have testifying to that (from Tesco's to gasbills). So no inburgering, no hassle! Look into it!

Hi Bullie,
Thank you very much for your advise. Good to hear that someone in a similar situation never had problems. Rent money might be a good excuse if they ever asked. Besides that, we are also planning to move back to Europe wants the kids reach Uni age. Saving in Thailand and buying a house cash in The Netherlands would be nice. Housing cost in The Netherlands are thought the roof, and getting an MVV visa is rather difficult. Maybe I follow your path later in life. Thanks for the advice.
We went to Holland under the Chavez-rule. Check it out! Wife is now doing the inburgering voluntarily for free, (Amsterdam), is allowed to work, and after 3 years we will change the visa to MVV, no problem.

In the 11 years I lived in Thailand nobody ever asked me where our money came from. Best advice for Thailand: let sleeping dogs lie. Money was sent in installments, sometimes paid in large cash deposits into my wife's bank account, with never a question asked. When asked as to occupation: semi-retired, money coming in from rent overseas. Just put the 400,000 in an account, and leave it there if you want.
All problems solved.
For your information: My family and I moved to the Netherlands this spring because the cost of living in Thailand was getting very high, and paying for proper health insurance for the family on top of the cost of a university education in Thailand for my son was getting to be unaffordable on a 3000 Euro/month income.
After all is said and done the cost of living for my family is decidedly lower in the Netherlands than it is here. That on top of much healthier food, infinitely better schooling and child benefits made it a no brainer for us.

Tech industry in Thailand is being relocated elsewhere for lack of skilled technicians, and an appalling lack of English skills.
As to the number of graduates churned out by Thai Universities: me thinks it is the wrong question to ask. What is the QUALITY of graduates would be a more appropriate question. Here again, English-speaking and understanding skills (the lingua franca of the world) are sadly missing.
What with the dwindling number of tourists, and all the other navel staring qualities the Thai posses, I would say they are rapidly progressing towards the exit, instead of aspiring to even BE a middle income zone (top 5 percent of pop. excluded).

Of course it's possible. You can ride a bike all the way up to the U.K., if you want - provided you ship the bike from Thailand to India, thereby skipping Myanmar.
Read and or view (you tube): riding a Postie from Australia to the U.K.

The Brits are welcome to give up the pound in favour of the euro anytime. We Europeans will just wait until the currencies are on par before we will kindly suggest this - which should not take long.
Doomed ye are, doomed....

She is the daughter of a clergyman, and showing it. "It is all manmade" she states, while this is completely unproven, and lots of evidence points to the contrary.
She want to believe in the fact that in a way we brought the wrath of god upon us, like a plague.
The only thing she SHOULD be doing is learning to live with a deminishing German population, instead of inviting the breeding masses from Africa into Germany, and send profilactics and birth control pills to Africa by way of third world aid, in stead of food and antibiotics.
Having that continent swell from a population of 1 billion to 4 billion in the coming years: Now THAT's a manmade climate catastrophe.

It will end with Thailand sitting in the back of the bus, wondering where it all went wrong. They are killing the golden geese left, right and centre. Western tourists have been, and are stilling being maltreated on many levels until most people vote with their feet and don't return. Car- and other production platforms are being moved to surrounding countries. Lack of English skills are appalling, which makes Thailand an increasingly isolated island in a globalizing world.
In the end there will be nothing left to do but navel-gazing for most Thai, and that on an empty belly.

Or maybe your just a person whose paranoid of wherever you live.
Came to live in Thailand 13 years ago to enjoy freedom. Now have left this year because of all the restrictions. Interestingly I now find that individual freedom in Europe is much more guaranteed, especially in Portugal and Spain.

Well, the Thai are a navel-staring bunch to begin with, but of late this is getting to a preposterous level. Economics, tourism, rice, rubber, and now garlic - it's like watching a train wreck in slow-motion.

That's how it started in China. Now they know your exact location, can look into your cellphone, can punish you for jaywalking by denying you entry to transport, etc. etc.
Sure, just give what they want, do what they ask. Never mind individual freedom, it's overrated anyway.

Weird goings on at Chiang Mai police station: Naked woman who speaks only English!
in Chiang Mai News
Posted
Something highly unusual happens every day in the bigger cities of the world. Like here in Amsterdam, kalashnikov-shootouts between rival non-Dutch druggangs are interspersed with naked people on bicycles promoting nudity, and just the other day a cut- off head in front of a shopwindow as a warning to the owners. Last week some palistinian took it upon himself to wreck a long-established Jewish restaurant, throwing bricks through the window and setting fire.
Yep, makes me choke on my coffee allright. What joy.
