  1. I've been happily marrired to a beautiful Thai lady for 15+ years (dated for three). We travel to the States 2-3 times a year and more often than not one the stewardesses (can we use that term anymore?) will try and ebgage her in Tagalog which makes her mad. Their is an Asian hierarchy apparently and I will say no more.
  2. I would say their "tampo" periods of anger and silence to be abount the same, IMOO.
  3. I would say their "tampo" periods of anger and silence to be abount the same, IMOO.
  4. Never had them before but, do fancy the name and, the name, in and of itself, sounds like something that would be hot and spicy. Maybe not enough sugar in this batch? Whenever my wife makes some som tam (which seems like every day!) it's a coughing/choking/runny nose affair but, that's how she likes it (sometimes too hot for her reles). Seems like a good opportunity to use that Thai line; the doctor says she tasted her friends Dragon Balls (the food from the restaurant) the other day and they weren't as hot to which the waiter gets to reply "Same same but different". Trial should be a banger; Dr. Walia how often do eat Dragon's Balls? In your previous experience, what was your favorite part of the Dragon's Balls? Could you please describe for the court the size and shape of said Dragon's Balls? Have you ever have to treat a patient with Dragon's Balls?
  5. From the BJ component of the thread, obviously got misplaced. And no, not a lifesaver over 3 years ago after eating food, it's for the present before she has husband's manhood for dessert.
  6. I do appreciate the chosen name for the "scheme"; iCon, almost as if they were straight up up in the name, presentation etc.. iCon, weCon, we just take all your money ching ching.
  7. We spent an entire week in the lands department to get a title cleared EVEN with a connection and plenty of tea money. My arse was sore from sitting there all week. It was land the the king had ceded to the military and then the military sold it. Checking out the the old (maybe around 200 years?) land plot books was pretty cool though. My wife had three of her sisters, a connection and our tea money, would hate to think what it would have been like without it/them. As with this horrible bus tragedy, so many governmental functions run on tea money. But, when it gets into the realm of safety, the safety of children, hopefully this tragedy will get someone to act. And the fact that the bus driver took away all the window breakers because children played with them just galls me, tie a string on it!!
  8. I read somewhere that Nana and nearby have some outstanding beeches in Thailand.
  9. So, what you're saying is same same but different?
  10. Really shouldn't be much of an issue in Thailand as transmission only occurs via skin to skin contact i.e. an infected person must have physical contact with another person. A couple of years there was an outbreak in the States (I want to say less than a dozen or so) who all were on board the same gay cruise ship, go figure. Still think it's funny that they had to change the name from monkey pox to mpox so as not offend the monkeys. Well, how do you think the chickens feel after all these years, or cows for that matter?
  11. Well, I reckon the factories in Kunming will be disappointed to hear this news.
  12. Maybe she is an "influencer" and gets some mindless dolts to send her money for "likes". One hundred baht here and another one hundred baht there adds up (we were camping once and the lobotomy crew next to us were on "swithch" filming everything they did- every time I brought over my big AmStaff and they put him on camera they got like $2, $3, $5-$10 from people just laying on their couch watching other people live their lives- really freakin' weird)
  13. It's been a few years but, when the brother-in-law isn't available to pick us up from BKK we take the "express" bus (only like a dozen stops) from Mo Chit to Lopburi to see family. The buses are beaters but, I generally enjoy the ride (and a small bottle of SangSom helps out a bit). We've also taken the train from Ayutthaya (visiting family and I really enjoy the museums and archeological sites although my wife has had her fill on my history lessons about Thailand) to BKK and those train too are beaters, no A/C etc. but, I enjoys the ride and the scenery. There are parts of Thailand that haven't changed in the last 20-40 years which is probably why it's considered a developing nation I reckon. I haven't seen the Apple video yet, will need to check it out.
  14. "She urged everyone to avoid further drama and mentioned her willingness to take legal action if necessary." Legal action against who? Either you bought the ticket and should have known what you bought or someone else bought it for you and you just "assumed" it was a Qsuite. I highly doubt you spent $B400,000 and thought you were getting a Qsuite (I belive, although not mentioned, that Qatar is the only airline with the Qsuite) which is considerably more. Anyway, wishing you well in your legal battles as I guess you have to do something to stay relevant once you're past your prime. Good luck.
  15. I'm going to have to change my schedule then. Always took the red eye out of LAX at 1:30 am, 2 hour layover in Taipei and the brother-in-law picked us up at BKK at 10:30 am. Really helped with jet lag, leaving at night sleeping along the way and get there in the morning. But now, it seems like all these flights come in the morning so immigration is packed. I'm happy to come in at night and hire a private van to take us to our house but, it messes with my jet lag plan, oh well.
  16. I shop with my wife twice a month at a small Khmer market near our house in California. Everything has to be imported and is ridiculously expensive but, happy wife.... There are also heaps of Vietnamese markets nearby as well so she can get all her produce needs met there. It's just the the various sauces and what not that the Knmer market carries (and I love their mangoes!) that she just loves. Can't get out of there for unders $US100.
  17. Well, if the government denies that it's true you've gotta believe them. I reckon the government official responded to a question as he was texted as he was getting a soapy massage.
  18. And his visit will help increase tourism how? Sorry, still struggling with this one.
  19. We went to the bank and got 400K baht and piled all our gold on top. It was presented to the parents and shown around. It was given back to us after the wedding and for the last 20 years we have continued to take of her parents. My wife had some land her village, and we built "apartments" on them which give us an income stream for us and to help take of her parets who, being simple farmers, don't want for much. It worked out well for us.
  20. It seems highly unlike that a 15 second discrepancy per passport would result in those lines but, I wasn't there and could be wrong, "Normally, the processing time from presenting a passport to receiving a stamped clearance by immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi Airport takes no more than 45 seconds per individual. However, due to the system failure, the time required per passenger exceeded one minute"
  21. I'm thinking that the answer might lay within the jeans..............
  22. Seemed reasonable although they'd have to build several proper police stations to house the coppers. And then with their train coming through soon maybe a military base or two to protect the train say Lopburi and Bangkok. Kind of an insidious way way to get a foot hold IMO.
  23. I guess I got very lucky and married a smart lady. We had a wedding of about 350 people from the viallage and the nine monks in our house. I paid for everything, no problem. We talked about sin sod and she said it was more show as long as we would take of parents in the future. Went to the bank, got $4 million baht, put all of our gold on top on big plate in front of her parents. After the wedding we got our gold back and the money went back to the bank. And, for 20+ years we have helped take of her parents every month. Seemed reasonable to me.
  24. I'm guessing he's the pin and she's the cushion? Dating online? Ok, I guess it could work. But, kind of leaves you wanting more, no?
