British Tourist Found Dead in Phuket Drainage Ditch
sumongkhwai replied to Georgealbert's topic in Phuket News
Agreed. Maybe he dropped something in there? We will probably never know the reason (unless his phone drops off mid-text or something). Just a shame by any account and, why couldn't they have used a metal grate on top instead poles the way round? I guess it's just Thailand like many other underdeveloped countries. Hopefully he had a good night out. -

Filipina's Viral Video Criticising Thai Women Sparks Backlash
sumongkhwai replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I've been happily marrired to a beautiful Thai lady for 15+ years (dated for three). We travel to the States 2-3 times a year and more often than not one the stewardesses (can we use that term anymore?) will try and ebgage her in Tagalog which makes her mad. Their is an Asian hierarchy apparently and I will say no more. -

Never had them before but, do fancy the name and, the name, in and of itself, sounds like something that would be hot and spicy. Maybe not enough sugar in this batch? Whenever my wife makes some som tam (which seems like every day!) it's a coughing/choking/runny nose affair but, that's how she likes it (sometimes too hot for her reles). Seems like a good opportunity to use that Thai line; the doctor says she tasted her friends Dragon Balls (the food from the restaurant) the other day and they weren't as hot to which the waiter gets to reply "Same same but different". Trial should be a banger; Dr. Walia how often do eat Dragon's Balls? In your previous experience, what was your favorite part of the Dragon's Balls? Could you please describe for the court the size and shape of said Dragon's Balls? Have you ever have to treat a patient with Dragon's Balls?

Foreign 'Mafia' Harass Tourists in Pattaya, Taunt Local Police
sumongkhwai replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I reckon a nice hard wod walking stick would do the job. A tad more covert and with it's smaller diameter would wreak havoc on the extremeties, esescially the lower. And being a hardwood, I reckon a good blow to to noggin would get the message across as you "limp" away with your walking stick perfectly suited for walking street. Cheers. -

Pattaya Police Raid Poker Gambling Ring, Arrest 9 Foreign Players

Aren't they supposed to be referred to as "gambling dens"? And, thank goodness that no one in the villages does any kind of gambling where they go into debt and end up owing the loan sharks thousands. Fortunately for me, no one in my extended ever got caught up in the sin. -
Indian Woman Strips in Defence Against Theft Claim

Ah, the old prison wallet. That would be a tough check so to speak. -
We spent an entire week in the lands department to get a title cleared EVEN with a connection and plenty of tea money. My arse was sore from sitting there all week. It was land the the king had ceded to the military and then the military sold it. Checking out the the old (maybe around 200 years?) land plot books was pretty cool though. My wife had three of her sisters, a connection and our tea money, would hate to think what it would have been like without it/them. As with this horrible bus tragedy, so many governmental functions run on tea money. But, when it gets into the realm of safety, the safety of children, hopefully this tragedy will get someone to act. And the fact that the bus driver took away all the window breakers because children played with them just galls me, tie a string on it!!

"world-class tourism image." However, they failed to mention what world they are referring to. One in our solar system or, an drug induced world. Haven't been there in years and if the wife and I want a quick beach get away, we'll got to Hua Hin and stay at or near Takiap Thong village where the beach is nice and uncrowded and the wife can still get a 1.5 hour oil massage on the beach for around $300 baht.

Elderly Australian Caught Stealing Vitamin C in Chonburi
sumongkhwai replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
I dunno, when you've reached a point in your 82 year old life that you gotta steal a 360 baht box of vitamin C you have much bigger problems going on IMO. And, the idea that the pharmacy is now going to charge him almost 10K baht seems a bit over the top to me. I reckon there's more to this story. It wasn't like he was trying to steal Viagra, then they should throw the book at him (but be careful where it hits, don't want to muck up the book) -
Social Media Outrage as Tourists Blatantly Urinate on Pattaya Beach

The Thai Police reall, really need to have Tasers. I've seen them used on deserving souls and it was quite enjoyable. And, once the barbs are in, additonal voltage can be administered, as needed.- 210 replies
