  1. Of course, in addition to properly aged funds, you must be over age 50 to apply for the retirement extension. Also, they may ask for "proof" of residency and I always bring a letter from the manager of our condo building, but I've never been asked for it in Chiang Mai.

    interested in your reply as you live in chiang mai im in phuket can you tell me what the immigration are like there as im thinking of moving , are they very strict as in phuket

  5. are the bars in phuket run by some sort of mafia cartel, all the prices for short time entertainment with a bar girl seem to be fixed and not negotiable no matter what the girl is like or how old

  6. Its a family visit visa you require if she had a British passport then you would not require a visa.

    UK/BA

    VAT2.4 What is a family visitor?

    The same as for a visitor. Under the Immigration Appeals (Family Visitor) Regulations 2003, a family visitor is defined as someone who intends to visit someone who is related to them in the following way:

    1. the applicant's spouse, father, mother, son, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece or first cousin (note: "first cousin" means, in relation to a person, the son or daughter of his uncle or aunt);
    2. the father, mother, brother or sister of the applicant's spouse;
    3. the spouse of the applicant's son or daughter;
    4. the applicant's stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother or stepsister; or
    5. a person with whom the applicant has lived as a member of an unmarried couple for at least two of the three years before the day on which his application for entry clearance was made.

  7. Hi i would like to take my 8 year old daughter to the uk for a visit she only has a thai passport , does anyone know what sort of visa i should get, and if it would have to be a dependant visa has anyone had any experience of how long this would take . (i am a non resident british citizen)

    Thanks

  8. hi all

    I have an 8 year old daughter i would like to register as a british citizen

    The material facts are as follows:

    I am a non resident british citizen by birth,

    the child was born in thailand and has a thai mother,

    i am not married therefore the child remains illigitimate,

    i am able to show a D.N.A. proving i am the biological father,

    i have a court order in thailand making me the legal father in thailand,

    i unfortantly failed to register the childs birth with the uk embassy before she was i year old,

    because she was born before 2006 (before the law was changed) and illigitimate i am not considered the leagal father in the uk,

    i have been told the only way i can get her a uk passport in to get her a dependant visa and take her to live in the uk for 3 years,

    i can also apply using a form MN1 but this is discretionary.

    I just wondered if anyone has been in the same situation as me and been successful in registering there child as a british citizen despite the uk's draconian laws on family and immigration
