And what about mixed couples living abroad ?
my wife will book from France so we’ll pay thaï price but when they find out they will charge half of Thai price for her and half farang price for me ? They must have headaches for having such ideas.
god knows we love Thailand but if they do so, we will have holidays in Europe : Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy Croatia many great and affordable places to enjoy !cheers

Hi everybody,
Wifee and i are wondering about spending a week or so in Samed when we’ll be in Thailand in June and july.
What do you think about it and do you guys have some tips about a good resort close to a beach not too expensive but clean and nice, and about the area where to look for ? We are not too much on bars and nightlife but appreciate good restaurants and live music !
thank’s in advance for your answers !
cheers

I was 16 in 1976 ; was already playing the bass in a few bands and at that time the rock leitmotiv was « no future », so we didn’t think about future. The only thing important was the next girl to bang after the gig or rehersal.

I live in Paris but even here, I never buy cheap wine. I dont drink wine everyday so though i’m not a rich man i never buy a bottle less than 10€, because expérience taught me it’s not worth it.
I bought once a bottle at Moonsoon Valley near Hua Hin, and though it was tasty, you can’t call it wine (30€ or so if I remember well !).

I had a trip back to Scotland booked for last May, cancelled of course. Brother had already purchased 2 concert tickets for big acts and I had a list of things to do.
Miss my twin brother
Miss real beer
Miss Indian food
Miss rock/blues live music
Miss getting vaccinated (brother Pfizered ages ago).
Fortunately the list of things I don't miss is much longer, and the plus points of being here longer still.
Can't see me ever getting use out of my unredeemable, non refundable British Airways voucher.
If you miss blues live music, try the Saxophone in Bkk at Victory Monument
Always good rock, blues or jazz bands

I never cheated on my Thaï wife, we are married 10 years now....
the reason why ?
I dont say i am not tempted (mostly When i am in Thailand) but She just doesn’t deserve it, i merely cannot imagine myself in bed with an other woman.
the story was much different concerning My ex farang wife. She deserved to be cheated, and god knows She got what She deserved.... ????
cheers

Sorry for your plight... but thanks for posting. We all have some bad habits...
The reports I have seen are that those E-cigs are a fast train to disaster...
I did have a cancer scare when I was 48 - I used it as an opportunity to slow my life down and appreciate everything by proceeding mindfully...
You can still enjoy the days you have...
you are right about e-cig but it’s a good way to quit cigarettes provided you quit e-cig fast ????
cheers

Hello gentlemen
I would like to Share My experience with all smokers on Thaivisa.
I am 59 years old i have been smoking cigarettes since i’m 14 or 15; I started smoking ganja around 16 or 17 though not on a daily basis.
When i reached 30, as i was practisising sports (soccer tennis squash and running) i felt i needed to quit smoking to improve my breathe. I tried all the methods that were available at that time. Impossible to stop ! I dont blame nothing else than me, My lack of will may be the reason why i couldn’t succeed.
Anyway i was young fit and i could deal with it.
In 2011 i started e-cig and quit smoking cigarettes. But from wake up to sleep i had it on mouth. When My mum passed away i started cigarettes again.
Septembre last year i felt that i have a slighty lack of breathing when i walked fast.i wait until june to go and see doctor. She gave me prescription for a lung scanner.
Result : i have a cancer.
So here i am now with chimio and everything a man suffering from cancer has to deal with. I have to tell you guys it’s not fun at all. I know i may die soon or later and i accept it though later wd be better.Anyway, the consequences are not only concerning myself but My close family too : i have 2 daughters 19 and 22 years old and My beloved thai wife. They all three handle things with courage and faith in french health service and if they might feel sad or
depressed they dont show.
My wife came and live with us in 2009 and we planned to go and live in Thailand When i retire; forget it, no way now, even if i survive, i will never be able to afford medical care or even health insurance, anyway no insurance would accept to cover me. I dont even know if i will be able to go again on holidays there.
I realize that i probably will not see My daughters become adults and be able to help or support them if they are in trouble someday. I realize that i probably not know the children they will have.
And will not play music with my mates again and all the things I love to do and that make life sweet.(i realize I probably will not see PSG win the champions League ????)
All this story to tell that when you smoke all your life cancer is not ineluctable but very very probable. And if it happens, you have to say adios to everything you have been planning and you have been patiently set up for years and everything you love and love to do.
And that you have to deal with the feeling that you realize that you will leave all the persons you love and enlighten your days.
And this happen from one day - one minut - to another and become concrete, it’s in your life and mind and there’s nothing you can do to lower your pain except try to take it as a. man and not bother everyone too much.I am sorry for long story, I just wanted to share this with you and if after reading this, only one among you guys decide and succeeds to stop smoking, then I would not have write in vain.
Cheers,
Fred

You're all crazy.
All you have to do is speak the language, be a nice person, and join a football team.
I've got lots of local friends.
Really.
I agree 100% and in my case i wd only change football team with rockn’roll band (though i’m not too bad on the pitch)
