  1. I do wonder if Starbucks is doing the same in other countries. There are coffee shops in China (I suspect a chain) that totally cope the Starbucks logo and colour scheme. I do hope they are being consistent in their "legal" pursuits. Or is it easier to take on the pup and let the dog roam free?

They can only push a small thai vendor...they do not have the balls to do this in China...nobody would even care about them!

People should understand the word copy!

Copy is when you do something identical! The thai vendors label was different and seems the coffee even tasted better.... :)

  2. This is totally exaggerated, there is no source for their claims. This reporting is criminal behavior, we have to start punishing liars for trying to infuriate people against sex and against asia. They are scared to death people will find out how cheap it is here and how friendly the people are. Asia is getting better and U.S. is going down and they don't want you to notice. They want to direct the anger away from wall street and the terrible gov onto imaginary people. They should be made to pay with jail time. Up to 2000 children roaming the streets in pattaya? a complete lie. I'll bet not even in the last 40 years total.

You better open your eyes and finger away from Thai wiskey!

There are places in Asia developing...but sure not Thailand!

  3. Again an Englishman and Pattaya in the news. Just another reason for me never to step foot in the ***t hole of a city! Honestly when will people learn, especially the Brits about falling in love with these bar girls. Balcony falls, drugs overdoses, missing and dead girlfriends. Moral of the story? Don't fall in love with a bar girl! Especially from Pattaya, and with the track records of the Brits. Stay home in England a d when you get the urge go to Amsterdam Lol!

Must be very bad in England if the many british prefer to go to warm and sunny Pattaya enjoying the beauties there and taking into account that they might die earlier and not of natural reason!

Yeah England must be a very nice place to stay?!

  4. Stop bringing your western values to Thailand... they don't work here.

Hitler is just a historical figure, no worse than Chairman Mao.. so get over it.

Oh really? Then why not just throw in Stalin and Pol Pot in to round off the picture... "just a historical figure" REALLY?!

And the Romans, Napoleon, ...who was the US president throwing 2 atomic bombs on Japan...!!!

  5. All to complicated...

Only money every month for 6 months means nothing without the proof of employment.

But you should know that banks check the employer...and if aunty has only a nudle shop and you want to fool them with 15-30K salaries....???....good luck.

If aunty is realy good enough to qualify as employer, so why not simply guaranty for the loan.

  6. hahahahha thai style ! , you see they dont like the russians you will hear soon, some russian die , but he lucky and alive !

Or you will suddenly miss some more Thais!

Opposite to Thais the Russians have balls and when you piss off the wrong ones...it was the last time ;)

Russians just invest now too much in Thailand to let it go. Many years back I was wondering where they were...now they are obvious here.

  7. I have two sons, Thai American. Their English is very good, but I only speak to them in English. They both go to Thai schools, not international schools. One son is in regular class and the other is in HM the Kings class at the same school. The quality of teaching is different. in the Kings class the English teacher is from the USA. In the regular class they are Philippine or Indian.

When I came here in 1966, I was in the US Army and worked with Thais. Some of them were very fluent in English, but they were trained by the Army.

The problem with the English language usage in Thailand is oral communication and comprehension. The majority listen to the English and than translate it to Thai in their head. Professor Brown at AUA taught the total immersion program, learn by listening.

What you want to say with the teacher thing....USA or Philipine/India...?

Many Philipine and India people speak a better english than US citizens!

Myself coming from Germany where english is a required subject in school got many times positive comments from US people about the clear, nice and correct english I speak...

You can say about India what you want but their education system is top notch!

  8. This would, undoubtedly, be the most scenic route of all

F1 courses and would showcase Bangkok's most attractive assets to a World-wide

television audience. Formula One has a total global television audience of 527

million people. Most Americans don't know Thailand from Taiwan. This race has

the potential to be one of the biggest advertisements for Thailand ever.

At the end of the day, there would be some newly paved

streets and many, many people around the World with a new-found desire to see

the mystical city that Bangkok is. These cars, rumbling around the course for a

couple of hours, do not equal just one full day of normal traffic as far as

vibrations are concerned. F1 cars are

relatively lightweight and will not damage the road surfaces so only a few

sections of street need to be resurfaced. The noise factor is measured in

seconds in any one place as the cars are moving quite fast.

The race course, as advertised, is in one the least

commercial parts of the city and would impose on the fewest people than any

other 'scenic' area of the city. No one is interested in seeing an F1 race in a

    non-descript part of Thailand.

It the race is held during Songkran, the weather will be

clear and many Thais will be out of town. This is also low season so this will

help the tourism business during a normally slow time of the year. All he high

end hotels would be full for the event. Local traffic would only be stopped for

less than three days and then, only in limited areas at any one time.

Barriers are set along the entire length of the

racecourse for driver safety and spectators are limited to select viewing areas, No soi dogs will

be able to get on the track nor vendors or any thing else unauthorized. F1 has

been running races safely since 1906 and If an F1 race takes place in Bangkok,

rest assured, it will not be run by Thai people.

p.s. Sebastion Vettel ran his Red Bull F1 car up and down

Ratchadamnoern Klang and around Democracy Monument a couple of years ago and it

    drew lots of excitement. http://wn.com/formula_1_f1_@_ถนนราชดำเนิน_drift

Now I know who came up with such stupid idea...

During Sonkran...Hotels and Bangkok full...are you dreaming! You need people to work and the workers will be drunk at home in the country side. No No ...because F1 they will stay...?!

Yes the freelancers would maybe be happy and we would have the new fastest brothel in the world what was Hungary before. This crown Bangkok would earn smile.png

...but we do not need to discuss as there are so many new possible races proposed where Bangkok is sure at the bottom of the list! Other cities are booming and well organized where Bangkok is only sinking wink.png

  9. First "Quai Lo" is not a foreign devil! Means Ghost Man...and ghost because of the white color as a ghost!

The female will be Quai Mui!

Hong Kong Disney - Nice with younger kids ...getting better but still not for the older kids (adults)! Not compareable to US or Paris!

The Peak - My opinion overrated! Yes a nice view but that's all.

    Sky 100 - for a nice view!

Ocean Park - Fun for adults and kids! Nice old cable car with the cute colorfull cabins!

Ngong Ping 360 cable car - Attracting more guests as the Buddha due to the nice view (on good weather days!) Some days you can see till Macau. Depending on tide the shell pickers in Tung Chung Bay...great through the glass bottom cabin! Now perfect views over the huge Hong Kong- Zuhai- Macau project!

Big Buddha - Nice religious site! Due to the many guest delivered by the cable car, the monastry is growing. New temple with 10000Buddhas.... Again on nice days you have a perfect view over Chinese sea!

Lantau island - due to being a nature park (limited access by taxi or bus) it has sure one of the best beaches in HK!

Note: Take the cable car up to the Big Buddha and go down by bus. Sure a pleasant day! After that if you still can walk some outlet shopping at City Gate Tung Chung.

Tai O - Smal fishing village on Lantau. Nice for a walk!

Sai Kung - Nice fish market directly from the boats but getting more a tourist thing... Sunday it is great due to all the locals coming there with their dogs...funny dog show!

Kowloon: From Sham Sui Po (Computer) over Mong Kok(clothes and more) till down to Tsim Sha Tsui(designer shops) a place for shopping maniacs.

Note: Short but nice to take the ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to step over to Central or Wan Chai!

Light show at 8pm at Tsim Sha Tsui pier! Not a huge thing but if it fitts in the plan...

Bus tours - There are serveral bus tours through HK showing the street live. So many street, shops, markets that you can spend a lot of time and never will explore all!

Stanley Market - Overrated and more the place where the bored local Quai lo & Mui go the weekend due to western restaurants!

HK Heli service - Heli flight to see HK from above!

Food - You can get all! This page is a good help: www.openrice.com

Macau - hmmm, yes for gambler but else only a recommendation with a luxury hotel stay 1 or 2 nights!

Shen Zen (China) - forget it! Nothing you will buy there will last and is only crap. Was more popular for cheap night life between the males.
