From what I've read, if you are lucky quite quickly you might be Ok, but if you hit a bump in the road, you'll be wiped out almost immediately.
My comment would be, plan more, try to get something lined up or viable before you arrive and have a bit more behind you.
Plan for 3 months with that money, take a little of the pressure off, enjoy it and maybe use this trip as a fact find and organise for the next.

Easy answer, thats what they were taught to do, dont think, improvise etc just do it .

Some Thais believe the more they go and more they give etc the better or more lucky life will be for them not just in this life but the next.
I would just point out "paying forward" is fine if thats her belief but tone it down, its easy to be free and give more when its someone elses money.
My wife goes around once a month, usually 50 baht, if its a special ceremony or calender event its 100.
I moan about giving them money anyway, but its her belief and as long as its within reason, then ok upto her.

This reads like a pre scripted promotional ! Perhaps that what this thread is about, drumming up business ?I think Thaifriendly is a great site, in fact I met my current GF on there last year when i was a member.
Their membership fee is lower than some of the other sites, and they let you try it as a free member before you pay, with restricted features. There might be a few professionals on there, but for the most part, the girls I met before I settled down with this one were sincere and serious about a relationship. But just be aware that if a 19 year old girl is interested in you, and you are pushing 60, its probably someone writing her letters for her, or she is a professional.
I had one girl who asked me to take her to an expensive restaurant for the first date to which I said no. We instead met at MK, which still wasnt cheap, but Im glad I didnt spend too much because it didnt work out after the first meeting.
Overall I had a very good experience with Thaifriendly and would recommend it above the other sites.

I have heard of a set up where they had 5 girls "employed" to talk to guys, each girl with many identities, and the whole thing was run by a Canadian guy ! Who also offerred from a different website "meet your bride" trips.
Its all a "business" its all about making money, one way ir another.
I am not saying this is what the company you mention does, its just what I have heard can happen.
IMHO.
There are also "independants" Where one older woman, good with English, acts as a kind of agent, she posts the girls details and runs "chats" where you see the actual girl on camera, but its not her thats doing the talking its the agent doing the typing. When things progress and if a relationship develops ths girl pays the agent.

After reading an earlier thread and the chaos with bodies everywhere waiting for visa application submission etc, and someone commenting about the 3000 baht premium service in and out in 15 minutes in there experience.
So, time to make application for the wife to travel to the Uk with me, wishing to avoid waiting ALL day as reported by some, we went for the 3000 baht premium lounge.
Our experience today ? So typically Thailand as nothing is ever consistent. We arrived at 10.00 am not quite sure where it was so went a little early, appointment booked for 10.40. Nice air -con cool building, plenty of facilities around if you need them for photocopying translation or whatever. Good Coffee lounge on the grounf floor if you want somewhere to wait.Up to the 28th floor, rugby scrum ! at the desk to enter, wife passes through, shown to premium lounge, NO seats available !
She had to stand and wait for available seat ! Great service huh, she stood for almost an hour before getting a seat. Someone later appeared and apologised for the delay due to new staff they were very slow.Meanwhile, the experienced staff in the main normal processing area, had cleared the room !It would have been quicker overall on this occasion to just go and use the standard submission process. The only thing the wife did eventually benefit from was getting some photocopying done and a little snacks to nibble. From start to finish was 2 hrs on the so called premium VIP service.
It seems its these "agents" that are clogging the system, instead of one application, one person as the masses are told, these a rolling up with 20 -30 applications in their hand and so slowing it all down, but thats just a guess on my part from what I observed.
Bottom line, its a lottery, you may be lucky on the day and be in and out in no time, you could pay for the premium and still get delayed, there is no guarantee on any of it! Luck of the draw, planning seems to make no difference, its all about whats happening there that day.
Best of luck to one and all who have to venture there.

I agree that some non-native speakers with very heavy accents shouldn´t be teaching, but there are a lot of foreigners (like myself) who have trained and achieved a near perfect accent and are therefore very much qualified to teach if we have the linguistic knowledge.
Aside from accents I believe that non-natives often have much greater knowledge of English than natives, since the natives simply have acquired the language, and not really learned it.
I agree, there is also a huge difference in conversational english and technical structure ie grammar, they are worlds apart, I knew a Chinese guy who technically was brilliant in structure and grammar, but to listen to him actually talk was, well lets say not good, but thats about pronounciation and conversation, not technical structure.
There are many dimensionx to it.

What qualifications do you have in order to judge ?
How would you know if a teacher is good or bad ?
Is it the teacher ability or the students ?
Too many variables not enough info for anyone to comment either way.

If as you say, you have history, yes of course you can support her, emotionally !
Help her get the right guidance, talks things out, be her sounding board help her decide whats best or whats right for her, accompany her to wherever, make doing whatever she has to do that little bit easier as any friend would do when providing emotional support.
Emotionally, NOT financially ! Be a friend not a mug !

Yes, you can track via usps website, there will be a delay between leaving the thai system and appearing on the usps system due to customs clearance (if apprpriate)

Stop penny pinching, remember you get what you pay for !
Most places will just revert you to manufacturer, good luck with that !
Buy something decent that will last, it will be cheaper and less hassle in the long run.

There are many retired men etc here and I just wanted to highlight something that overtime and with over indulgence etc can sometimes be forgotten, its always "later".
I had a vistor today, a second one actually, from a sweet Thai lady in her early 40's, she came to ask for my help sorting out her husbands affairs as he had recently passed on. I am not going into who or where for obvious privacy reasons. I just want to ask if some of you can just give a thought to how things might be dealt with if you happen to "check out" earlier than you anticipated.
Yes we are all invincible, all got the insurance , the will, etc and maybe none of you have, your dead its not your worry, ok if thats you outlook I am not about to judge anyone, its an individual thing.
But, if you do happen to care for that Thai lady you are with, made a home with, perhaps had children with, please take a moment to consider what she actually has to go through to get anything by way of pension, bereavement allowance, etc etc
I am a Brit and I find some of these forms and procedures daunting, for a young Thai woman with very limited English its pityful to see the distress and plea for help to sort it out.
This particular incident left the poor girl with nothing, the house was rented and has to ve handed back, she had to borrow big money as security against hospital treatment/ bills. She and her child have to move back with her family as she now has nothing, the family pulled together to pay for the funeral etc. He left nothing except major credit card balances in the Uk, which will wipe out any small money there was from other sources.
I said before, I am not judging, but this guy borrowed upto the hilt from anywhere, then checked out leaving her to sort it out. Thats the other side of the coin we dont often see or hear about.
Is that how you want to be remembered, and how you want the woman who cared for you and took care of you when the chips were down to face alone ?
Just saying guys, give it a little thought and planning if you really care about her, let your parting gift be a stress free one for her atleast.
Ok, lets have the onslaught, I know many cant control themselves.
