  1. Answered in the other thread on the topic..

In summary: Facelft in 2-5 months, more substantial update in Nov-Dec 2011, and all-new platform not until 2014.

That's correct - the search option on this forum rarely works, unfortunately. As a consequence similar things are discussed perpetually. Where's Toyota manufacturing the new Fortuner? not Thailand, so the price may rise to reflect this. The newest Fortuner with 2.5litre engine looks like a bargain, but as a replacement for a Camry? the two vehicles are like polar opposites, why change from one to the other? there must be a reason, you need the space? you'll miss the Camry's suspension that's for sure.

It depends what attributes you are looking for - if you simply want a higher driving position then the HondaCRV, if you still want 7 seats then Captiva, Pajero Sport, or Mu-7. Personally, I'd keep the Camry, you could run it for another decade on the amount you'll loose when you sell and depreciate when you buy new, but each to their own.

All Fortuners sold in LOS are made in LOS. Previous rumours about importing Fortuner from Indonesia are not correct. Indonesia assemble Fortuners from mainly Thai parts, to be exported to Phillipines and Saudi Arabia. approx 2000 units a month. Both LOS Fortuner/Vigo plants are running at full capacity with an output of 350.000 units/year.

    thanks for the replies!

i was thinking to get something with more space and a higher driving position.....

honda crv is considered a ladies car; most of my mates felt this way....

captiva, there arent many chevy service centers around, i m really worried about after-sale service..... it has been in the market for quite some time, aint really a new model.

pajero sport is something i m really considering on..... but i m not sure about the after sale service for Mitsubishi, i used to have a lancer years back....... was really a problematic vehicle.

    any advice?

should i go for a fortuner or a pajero sport?

  2. if i m not wrong, u will have to pay income tax for both jobs on the separate work permit.

45k thb is the minimum pay for a class b work permit therefore u will have to submit a income tax from a income 90k thb monthly therefore, 1.08m thb yearly income. u will have to be taxable on your income which will be approx. 20% = 200k thb a year....

it is something u have to be careful about...... talk to a tax auditor or an accountant before making any decisions.....

  3. i own a toyota camry 2005 at the moment, it is kinda old and i m thinking to get a new car.

was thinking to change to a fortuner, but the current model of Toyota fortuner is already in the market since 2005, it is like a 5 year old model.

most Japanese car makers will facelift their cars in 2 years and minor change in 4 years and finally change the design in 5 years. it has already been 5 years +++, so anyone here heard of news of a model change?

is there any advise on what car should i look into instead of the toyota fortuner?
