Ain't going to happen...

What does anyone think about the digital D200 camera from Nikon? I have been looking for movie modes in the specs but have been unable to find anything. Is this possible?
Thanks...

I love TV and most things about Thailand. Are there any other forums about Thailand? What about any forums to avoid?

The facts:
I have lived in Thailand for about 8 years.
I am legally married to a Thai woman.
I have legally adopted my Thai wife's 6-year-old daughter according to Thailand laws. Everything is above board.
I am an American.
Questions:
Can my adopted daughter now acquire an American passport?
If so how?
Is this good or bad my daughter having an American passport instead of a Thai passport?
Problems:
The US Thailand embassy website is rather vague.
Searched TV, but found nothing specific to this problem.
Thanks for the response.

Can a Thai national, legally have more than one passport?
-
We are thinking about adopting a Thai child. I am a US citizen and my wife is Thai. If we go through all the legal hoops to adopt a Thai child, can I then get a US passport for that child?

Just go to Soi 33 where many Japanese people often try to improve their English skills.

I have voiced my opinion on this issue many times and have usually been met with utter...
My argument is simple, if any of us was living back in our respective countries would we not want qualified teachers in the schools teaching our children?
A native speaker of English does not necessarily mean a teacher of English or any other subject.
A teaching degree does make a difference (most of the time).

Must be a Brit thing? Thailand related?

Been legally (Thai) married for 6 years and have a young daughter.
Thanks for the imput! Will let you know.
However, it is ###### hard to show someone America in 3 weeks!

GuestHouse, I appreciate your response. Yes, I have downloaded all of the appropriate papers from the US embassy's website and much like my father have ticked off each box.
We own our own home plus several parcels of land upcountry in my wife's village. Can the embassy understand these Thai documents?
Thanks,

Even though I have lived for several years in BKK and often 'troll' TV, I now need to ask a question. Finally I have been persuaded by the wife to visit my home country in America.
What about the supporting documents that show she is not an intending immigrant? Would these include such papers as the various land and home papers, car titles, motorcycle papers, contracts, etc? Do these papers need to be officially translated in to English?
Thanks,

I have never felt the slightest inclination to visit Ajarn. I do recall us helping out when the site was down. The proprietor was comfortable here then. Times change I guess.
Excellent point! Some people have short memories.

Almost every place I have ever stayed in Thailand including my home has plate glass windows.
Are you sure about that?
There is a big difference in the manufacture of plate glass and ordinary float glass and also in the price.
You are probably correct. I do not know the specifics. However, I do know that the majority of what I see is not safety glass...
-
Many people refer to this problem as beer squirts...

Been here for a few years in BKK but still can not find American sausage. I would love to have some southern biscuits and gravy.
Any ideas? Anyone know a Thai sausage that can match the flavor and texture?

causing her to fall through the glass door.
In my opinion the owners of the hotel should be charged as well.
What sort of dump uses ordinary glass in doors etc. ?
If they had done what they should have the worst she would have is a bump on her head if they used laminated glass or if safety glass she would have been unable to stab anyone with a small piece of shattered glass.
^ Almost every place I have ever stayed in Thailand including my home has plate glass windows. Ever tried to buy safety glass here in the LOS?

^Let's say that you want to teach high school science in America. You have to get a BS degree in conjunction with a teaching certification. In other words you have to supplement your degree with additional educational courses. The UK has the same basic outline.
Thailand also has the same basic requirements. What the MOE is saying (IMHO) is that a teacher basically needs 15 university credit hours in addition to the original degree.
The international schools that I am familiar with are now requiring this for continued or possible employment.
I have NO idea how this ruling will effect government, bilingual or the ESL field; if in fact it even does.
-
While this educational requirement is confusing I do know this fact. Accrediated international schools will not accept any applications without a teaching certificate. I believe it is not so much the MOE but the schools themselves with this requirement.
-
^Rote memorization. Full of facts and can not think for themselves...
I also teach at a reputable international school and see the tough time incoming Thai Ss have transforming from robots into individuals.
-
Mijan 24,
Yes, I did attend this course awhile back and even managed to graduate. This course does satisfy any requirements that ANY international schools in Thailand or the MOE may require.
I attended various classes that had teachers from RIS, BIS, BPS, TIS, TCIS, Harrow and many more. Or at least this is where the teachers told me they were from. Most I know to be true!
Herein the problem lies. Many 'true' international schools are leary about hiring a local expat even with all of the necessary qualifications. Sexpats, drunks, druggies often come into play. Very difficult area.
While this grad dip is not for everyone it will allow an individual to work in the international circuit and remain in Thailand.
As far as I know it is the only course that is recognized by such schools.
Good luck! Feel free to PM.

Search for a detailed answer to your question on ajarn.com. Wait, that idea will not work anymore.
In response to your question, the Ozzies will accept the course as will various American states. Other countries, I do not know.
