Man I don't know whether they are (or were) world famous, but I'm telling you they are garbage on Diavel. Can't really say the same about their products on other bikes but that is what I suspect. From the time when Diavel was 1st introduced back in 2011 and up to now 2nd Diavel generation, suspension didn't change and this is one big and often single complain from the Diavel owners.
Not the same parts (shocks and forks) obviously but from the same manufacturers and they're <deleted>!
Diavel and Benelli 600 use same components?Sachs shock and Marzocchi forks are <deleted> anyways (speaking from experience with the same components on my Diavel.
?
I can't say that having Sachs shock and Marzocchi forks is a bonus and that it increase the bike's value, quite the opposite. The cheap stock ninja 300 suspension performs way better and not even adjustable (other than shock preload).
Disagree.
# Never ridden a Diavel, not my cup of tea.
# Both Sachs and especially Marzocchi are world famous brands with a rich heritage and history. They do NOT make crap products. They make a product up to a design quality, or down to a price that the manufacturer (in this case Ducati) specifies.
# Funny, in road tests i've read of the above Diavel, by world class and famous knowledgable journalists, i never read "great bike, crap suspension". Strange that.
# Perhaps you need to read your owners manual, and set the bike up to your weight and how you like it, and if unable to, take it to a suspension specialist who can.
Don't trust what "journalists" and other reviewers say as often they get paid to write pretty reviews to promote the product and boost the sales. If you want a truthful reviews, go to diavel - forum dot com and read what other owners say about it as well as what professional suspension tuning shops tell about the internals of these parts.
No amount of reading manual and adjusting can make this junk perform above average. I've tuned it to a more or less satisfactory performance but I'm telling you the stock suspension on my Ninja 300 still performs a lot better.

150 for the Vespa??? OP check out the Yamaha Grand Filano, they maybe what you're looking for.

To begin with, what bike did you get?Hi guys sorry to hash up an old thread but I've just bought a new big bike. All the threads I read are full of peoples opinions on fuel so I want cold hard facts!
The guy in the showroom told me 95 fuel. I've recently filled up with Shell V Power 95, is safe to assume this is gasahol 95?
For a new 2015 bike what are the diffeences between 95 benzine (which I understand is slowly being fazed out in LOS) and 95 gasohol?
Seems that gasohol will run the engine cleaner, slightly better fuel efficiency?
Benzine 95 (pure gasoline) will dirty the engine if thewre are no additives however power will be marginally higher and fuel efficiency will be reduced?
Gasohol 91 is a lower grade fuel than 95? I'm a little confused about the percentage of ethanol/alcohol and whether the higher percentage is a good or bad thing?
Thanks for your help brothers.
I'd recommend sticking with what the bikes manual says and not worrying about what some salesman tell you. The easiest way to tell is just look at the sticker on the fuel tank.
Difference between benzene (gasoline) and gasohol is that the later is a blend of gasoline + alcohol (usually 10% alcohol). E20 and E85 are blends with 20% and 85% alcohol respectively.
Gasoline will give you the best power and fuel efficiency as it contains more energy per volume of fuel.
Neither gasoline nor gasohol would run your engine dirty, dirty fuel will run your engine dirty.
91 is not a low grade fuel. The numbers stand for the octane rating, which in essense is a burning retardant. 95 fuel burns slower which is necessary for the high performance (high CR) engines to prevent pre-ignition and engine knock.
The bottom line is, if your bike requires 91 octane fuel, 95 will not hurt it but will not make it run better or cleaner. On the other hand, if your bike requires 95, then using 91 will destroy your engine.
And from experience I'd say that Shell has some occasional quality issues. I stopped using shell in Canada a long time ago after numerous occasions with my car running like shit after fill ups. I also stopped using them in thailand after one bad fill when my bike started stalling and hard start issues. A few tank fills from PTT and Caltex fixed the problem. So never again, I stay away from Shell.

Well good if they can follow up on this, it may be useful to those who has had their mobiles stolen.
Please follow up on the topic as you get more details.

I don't know why this topic is still getting replies??
The issues were sorted out by me simply buying another Note 3 and wife keeping her original Note 3.
I found no ways to transfer sideloaded apps from one device into another if the phones aren't rooted, just not possible.
With rooted phones it's quite easy - use the Titanium Backup.
This topic can now be closed unless posters want to continue discussing this topic and posting the replies that do not provide any help to the original question.

I've applied for a new passport and will go back to my Can embassy to pick it up in a few days.
My Non-O based on marriage has expired already but my entry stamp is good until the end of October.
I'll make a trip to Vientiane in a month or so to get a new visa, but in the main time do I need to do anything with the entry stamp, which is in the old passport, which I requested to get back?
I've heard that it's even possible to use the still valid visas from the old passport, to enter/exit the country with a new passport, just need to present the old passport with visa at immigration. In my case however there will be no visa from the old passport as it has already expired. Can I just show them my old passport with the entry stamp together with my new passport when I do the border crossing, or do I have to go to immigration to transfer it into a new passport?

OP, If you want something wqith a little more than the Phantom, I have a nice Yamaha Dragstar 400 for sale. I'll give you a good deal on it.

A question for some full of **** members: would you still go there if the foreigners fee was increased to 1000 baht? To 5000 baht? Yes / no? So where is the limit?
I personally think they are already over the limit and it's not about the money.

They work fine with 3g since the Internet connection isn't required anyways (at least not for the models I'm familiar with). All tracking and reporting is done through sms messeges. For example I can send an sms command "google" and receive an sms with the link that starts google maps and shows the vehicle location.
The model that I use has quite a few options. In standby mode, when you connect only 2 wires it will still receive sms commands and send the replies, 3rd wire is additional power wire when the ignition is on, it does more frequent location updates then. It also has an option to shut off the engine through sms command with the addition of the relay.
-
I got mine from eBay too, but I got the model that needed to be hardwired, however all that was needed is hooking up 3 wires (can also work well with only 2 wires) so not a difficult job to do it yourself.

No need for a shipping container, it is 2-3 days ride from Thailand to Bangladesh.
Yes you can buy it here on tourist visa and as said you'd have to pay cash. And I don't see any issues with taking it out of Thailand, I don't know Burmese transit laws but should be no issue there either. Then you'd have to deal with Bangladeshi customs when you arrive there and I think that might be the biggest hussle.
However I'd have to ask: why buy here when they're available in Bangladesh? I've been working there for a year so I know that. Are they so much more expensive locally that you'd go into all the troubles importing one?
If I would import anything, it would be something larger than 150cc since that is all you can get in Bangladesh. Why not the R3 so you can stand out from the crowd?

I see the logic in your thinking and I agree, but during years that I have been riding/driving here, I have only only once had issues with my older bike stalling and hot start problems due to the bad fuel. I always fill up at PTT and that only time I had problem was the Shell fuel. Also I quite often had problems with Shell fuel in Canada so I don't use them anymore. The only time where you mught see benefits in using 95 is when the engine knock occurs and the ecu retards the timing (therefore reducing power output) to prevent the engine damage.
putting in higher octane kind of acts like a safety net.... in case you end up getting some watered down bad quality gas.... having higher octane left in the tank will help dilute the bad gas..... if youre running minimum octane already, putting in some bad gas will bring the average tank level down even further and you could suffer some issues.
the cost difference between 91 and 95 on a motorcycle fill up is incredibly negligible.... dont see any reason why you wouldnt put in higher octane when you have the choice.... unless youre really on a tight budget and need to pinch pennies (which i can understand)
My 2 newer bikes I always used the minimum required fuel for these bikes, one is 91 and another one is 95, no issues at all with over 20k km combined from both bikes.
Edit to add.
Also let's not forget about the CR vs fuel Octane rating. Regular fuel can be used with over 12:1 CR with retarded timing, OP's bike is only 11.2:1 and many other engines are way less than that so there really no benefits in using a high octane fuel other than questionable safety factor in case of a bad fill. Most if not all modern vehicles will retard the timing when knock is detected to prevent the engine damage.
My opinion which is based on scientific research and experience with variety of engines is that there's no need to use anything other than recommended by the manufacturer, but of course if it makes someone feel better they can fill their tank with gold for all I care.
-
Look at what the owners manual says and go with it. If it's not a high performance (high CR), engine, then there's no benefits using 95 over the 91. 95 isn't cleaner, it won't give you more power, it isn't better etc... it's just a higher octane number which isn't required to be used in your bike. The only time where you mught see benefits in using 95 is when the engine knock occurs and the ecu retards the timing (therefore reducing power output) to prevent the engine damage.
Now if you compare the benzene (which is only available now in 95) with gasohol, the benzene is clearly the better fuel.

The way homosexuals are treated in Russia, this tour guide would be sorry for making news.

Guys, I'm going to resurrect this topic as my Non-O based on marriage I got in Edmonton, would expire in one month.
Since I'm in Thailand now and have no plans going back to Edmonton any time soon, I'd need to apply from within Thailand, or one of the neighboring countries.
I guess I'd need financial proof now? Or is it still not needed when applying from outside of Thailand, say Laos?
If the proof is needed, now much is it?
How long money will need to be on the account or there is no time frame requirement?

I like women of my age, I'm not 50 yet so can't say I would rather have a 50 y.o. but the chances are I would when I get there. Franky I have nothing to talk about with 20 y.o. and being with a woman isn't all about sex.Why would any man want to settle for an aging 50 year old droopy European woman when they could have a nice, tight-bodied 20 year old?
Would you rather have a 50 year old?
If you said yes, then I'm just going to assume you're a liar and call BS on everything you've said so far.

An overstay is an overstay no matter by whom or what season (empty hotels are irrelevant in this case ). A slap on the wrist may work on some people but would definitely gets abused by many others.Illegal immigrants is what Europe is faced at the moment but the media so conveniently calls "asylum seekers".
In all fairness, these three kids might have not noticed the expiry stamp in their passports. This is wrong and, according to the local law, punishable with said fines. All OK so far. They outstayed their welcome and will never come back again - same for their friends and friends of friends - trust the vitality of the social networks on this one.
But what is it an airline's job on a domestic flight to scare them to death. It is the immigration (under the police and ultimately under the Ministry of Interior) to sort things out and not an airline (under the DCA and ultimately under the Ministry of Transportation).
The story will go viral and the TAT will have to use more flood pumps to blow up their fantastic figures of theirs.
Apply common sense - a commodity which is in complete absence in this country; regretfully!
A slap on the wrist with a smile would have done (thank- and grateful) wonders; now it seems that Thailand came in second - again, despite being on the(ir) correct side. How pathetic - considering the completely empty hotels and restaurants in Pattaya, Koh Chang and other Eastern seaboard tourism spots!
By the way, Koh Chang was never a very popular tourist destination, I came back from there about a week ago and it didn't look much emptier than during any other time I went there over the years. I certainly hope it would stay this way.
Also I'm in Pattaya at the moment and the place seems ok, can't say the hotels are completely empty since all these beer sucking dirty old men need to stay somewhere to be here. So get your facts straight.

Bikes are like girls, you look at one and feel indifferent, then you look at the other one and you really really want her. That's how I feel about my bike, plus it is the most comfortable riding position. Sound? Sure Ducati sounds nice even stock but it was not a deciding factor for me. Money? If I didn't want to spend as much as I spent, there are other Ducati bikes that I really like and a lot cheaper. If you already think about 400-500k thb bike then 10% extra for the right bike doesn't matter.I ride an even bigger Ducati
-Shurup-
You will know well =
If you had to think more from the money, would you still go for the DUCATI?
Is the Ducati factor, reputation style, sound then also (still) worth it?

P.s. I have changed the rear shock spring to a heavier one, more suitable for my weight, adjusted the sag properly as well as compression and rebound. The settings that work the best for me are nowhere near what manual says. Maybe when you ride this bike on a perfect road then it works as it should but in real life the roads aren't perfect and that includes the US, Canadian, Ausie, UK many Euro countries and of course Thailand. There are many Diavel owners all over the world and all say the same thing about the suspension.
