I suggest you read the following - http://www.newmandala.org/thailand%E2%80%99s-military-perpetually-political-forever-factionalized-again-ascendant/
Many thanks for the info - and do you (or anyone else) know what job the man does/did ?
The lady's extended-family are exceptionally well-connected (eg within the armed forces + current government, but let's not get into *that*), but I would like to know more information about her Father's career path.
Finally, Gen.Wit Thephasadin na Ayutthaya (Class 11) is to be promoted to be another assistant Army Chief. [21] The promotions further clinch the ascendancy of Pre-Cadet Class 10 and 12 as well as Army Cadet School Classes 21 and 23 over Thailand’s Armed Forces. At the same time, at least until 2010 the personal supremacy of Generals Anupong and Prayuth is assured.
- Are Khun Sanan and Khun Wit the *same* person ?
No they are not. Sunan died a long time ago and he was responsible, I think, for the building of the National Stadium.
Wit is a current Army General and also owns an oil company. His nickname is "Noi". He was an advisor to General Prayut also, so actually this family is very up there also with links to a certain extremely influential person.
If Khun Sanan/Sunan died a long time ago, then Johnnley would have been wrong when he said that Khun Sanan was the lady's Father (?) - If I understand you correctly, are you suggesting that it is Khun Wit who is the lady's Father ?
I was wrong. General Wit(Noi) is the lady's father.

He is obviously a good teacher if all are saying this. Let it go.

What is the (full) name of the lady's Father, and what his job is/was ? - I have spent some time searching Google for the answer, but I couldn't find it.
(Her Mother's name is Laddawan Thephasadin Na Ayudhya).
Perhaps someone in TV-land has better search-skills than me.
Sanan Thephasadin na Ayutthaya

Sanan Thephasadin na Ayutthaya
I remember a Thepsadin Na Ayudhaya being the chief advisor to the current Prime Minister.

We need a picture of her (no, not the one of 6 years ago, a new one!) so that we can expose her on social media a bit. She will definitely have to go overseas.
She's hardly a serial killer.
-
Really? If she were my daughter I would be keen for her to learn about responsibility and consequences. I would (of course) try to minimise her prison time and support her on exit, but I would not try to bribe anyone, nor cash in on my good name if I had one, nor make excuses for her. It seems to me that this is the proper way to bring up kids, though I suspect this one went bad a long time ago, and if someone wanted to push her off a bridge tomorrow, I would cry not a single tear.
You do the crime, you do the time. End of.
Winnie
Interesting question, having 4 kids myself.
One of my kids went off the rails a bit due to alcohol and I had to bail him out a few times. That is my job as a parent. Now he is sober 3 years through going to AA.
You say you would try to minimize prison time, so would I. That meant once paying a sum of money to minimize it to zero. Does that make me a terrible father?
Most foreigners don't understand the way the Thai society works. I have practiced, "Boon Koon" for many years and have a large network of 'friends'. It is a system that may foreigners deem unfair just because they either don't know the difference between it and the legal system in the West or they have no "power/influence". You can integrate into this society or not.
There are at least 200,000 people in this land that are untouchable. At least 50,000 in Bangkok. They are above the law and that is the way it is. Get over it and stop comparing Thailand to bloody Bolton or Boston. I've known a few Thais who buy expensive cars for their 14/15/16 y/o kids. I know two kids that killed someone while driving without a license and yes both were sent abroad to finish their studies and the families of the victims were paid off. Both parties were satisfied, seemingly. I know 3 foreigners who were involved in fatal car accidents while drunk. They all paid their way out too.
There are thousands of Na Ayutthas Thailand and they are not as influential as many here think. Add another word or two before and then they have faint touch of royalty but quite far.
This family are not super rich or what Thais call hi-so but just an average upper-middle class family who are doing what all other families would do in this situation. It's a tragic situation but to insist they got full punishment like one poster said is beyond my comprehension.

Sadly, I think they are wasting their time. Tragic but these things do happen when youngsters abuse alcohol.

Link doesn't work and can't register for the forum,is this the sexpat Masons or something?
Post of the day!

Nope. I'm not commenting on the story at all.
Just the pointlessness of rerunning the same story again.
And that's all this thread is doing.
You could read a book, watch the telly or heaven forbid go out for a beer with your real-life friends.
What?
Just saying, 7 posts every day for 4 years is a bit obsessive don't you think?

Yup there's another one for sure.... R.I.P where ever you are....11yrs here for me now and I hate this country, my plans to return home are coming soon....it's a bitter and brutal country once you look deeper into the people who live here.....bye bye Lieland
Staying away from expat forums would be a good start if you hate the country.
I've lived here 3 times as long as you and personally love the country and the people - good riddance.
I'm with Sawan on this one! One feels abitmiffed is stuck here for financial reasons or he would be gone years ago.
-
I'm sorry but...yawn.
We've been through this non story once already, do we really need to do so again?
Evidently you do. Otherwise you wouldn't be here commenting.

Rather a tacky headline. The poor man is sick and he's made a fool of on the internet just because his wife was in one famous short movie.

So Kamnan Poh,s son is out as mayor ! really ? Must be moving up to a higher position
Must be an oldtimer like myself bringing up Kamnan Po.
Most people you mention Kamnan Po don't have any idea what you are talking about.
Now we are on the subject wonder were he is hanging out in exile as a fugitive of the Law.
Wherever he is he surely stays quiet, not like his compatriot fugitive of the Law Thaksin flying around all over the world in his Bombardies Jet. But then again, Kamnan Po didn't steal as much money as Thaksin did and most likely is not allowed to keep operating his businesses in Thailand, like Thaksin is. Oh well such is life in LOS.
Do you have a link indicating the Godfather is not in jail? Was he not recaptured a few years ago coming back from BKK?
He is still in jail.
No he isn't.

Unfortunately....
Copied from a Pattaya forum...
"i've received confirmation sadly that Steve's body has been identified by his ex wife.
I know it's an open forum but can I request that everyone show a bit respect for his family and the board members that knew him.
A man who served his country with distinction all over the world."
RIP
Condolences to the wife, daughter and family. RIP

Good luck to him, his money and life ! Bitter farangs must be so jealous..
Especially the ones living on a rice farm.
Rather have a porn star than a bar prostitute.
-
Harold you lucky man! I have seen that infamous vdo that was circulating 10 years or so ago.
The big difference here is that Harold has a beautiful wife, many of the old codgers I see in places like Pattaya look like they found their tee rak at Buriram fish market.

If going the way of being married to a Thai, does the time you've had the yellow book count for anything? I've even heard I don't need one to apply. However, I would prefer to have one. I have had one in another province for many years. Rather than travel a long way, I could throw it in the bin and apply for another one in my new province, where I want to apply from. Does this sound like a wise idea?
A far as I know you must be on yellow book for 3 years when you apply.
You cannot jut throw away your current yellow book. You have to get a new one by formally moving out from the residence it was issued for and getting a new one for your new residence. The new one will have the same ID number as the old one.
You could then show both books when you apply.
When my wife and I moved house we changed both our tabian baan books at the same time - went to the district office for our new place, and they told us that we needed to 'move out' of our old place at the local district office for where it was, first. So we did that and then went back to the district office for our new place, where they gave us the new ones. Total cost was 40 THB.
When I applied for citizenship in December (still waiting), I showed them both my current and previous tabian baan books, and they counted up the cumulative time of both books for the points.
Thanks Ubonjoe and SWW, this is very helpful.
The list of documents I was told to have by Special Branch didn't actually have the Yellow Book but I will check again about that.

Arrest warrants issued
Come fly with me lets fly fly away.
Again authorities given wrong doers time to flee.
Why do Thai authorities give wrong doers warning???
I know you are unhappy living in this country and have a go at everything Thai when given the chance but please just stop and use your brain before posting rubbish like this.

The guy admitted it, let the lynch mob have at him. He needs removing from the gene pool of humanity anyway. Sooner this kind of poison is eradicated the better.
As for those that say its against human rights / he needs a fair trial. He's admitted raping a 9 year old child. That in my book negates any rights he might have had. Death sentence is appropriate.
Have you never heard of forced confessions?

So many single Thai mothers let these old reptilian westerners into their homes to be 'stepdad' to their young daughters, just on the promise of financial support. They should all be screened and checked, I'm pretty sure that this would be the normal procedure in the west.
This is a problem, single Mothers with young Sons and Daughters are targets for these men, of that I have no doubt.
Recall many years ago the Italian who was arrested in Soi 8 Pattaya, his girlfriend was 12, the Mother lived in the same property as a cover. Anyone remember the Englishman Morris from Pattaya ( Known as Elephant Man ) ? that guy was into the young girls, he was arrested more than once and paid the Police off, had girls and their Mothers living in his house in the 1990's. He was often seen hanging around The royal Garden Plaza with other like minded people hitting on the young girls, he must have been 70.
Some very dodgy Farangs in Thailand, past and present.
To be fair, these single mothers are abusing thousands of old men in Pattaya and around the country.

Only did it once,so that makes OK in his eyes, lynch mob, too bloody slow
regards worgeordie
Do you promote lynch mobs before a trial?
-
cops should have let him go, he did admit to it, scum bag
What a strange thing to say.
