To start with I visited Kaeng Kachan on Tuesday the new prices took effect Sunday it was 300 baht for me And 100 baht for my Thai brother in law ......indeed for all Thais
This x10 rubbish is just that .......rubbish.....the fee for Thais has increased from 40 and farangs from 200
The National parks are not meant to be just tourist attractions.......they are protected areas ......accepted this protection is variable.
KK is an amazing place.....the pied Hornbills I saw were worth ever baht of the admission fee.
Some of the parks like SRY can disappoint but it's great for White tailed fish Eagles had 3 in the air together.
Let's encorage the Thais to CONSERVE the best bits of TH they started protection late but they are trying.

That's the last comment last paragraph of course not the article above

Read through about half the posts.
I'm guessing for all of those who said they won't go visit the National Parks after hearing of this rule, probably haven't gone anyway.
I do go to them.
I have now been to 70 of the 76 provinces, and we like to camp out every other night when traveling.
My wife likes cmping in the National Parks best, so, that's normally where we go.
I've found that the farang getting in with the Thai drivers licence works in about 70% of them.
It seems to be up to the head guy. But if you laugh and joke with the money guy, it usually works.
If you get mad, it doesn't.
By the way, there are wild animals in some of the parks.
We got false-charged by an elephant up in Nam Now in Issan a few years ago.
I've seen wild elephants at Pook-a-ding also.
Boars, monkeys, deer, elephants,......yes they are out there.
But, you guys will only see them in a book I imagine.
Many of the parks are well taken care of.
A lot of money is spent sweeping leaves, and dirt off of walkways, keeping restaurants and bungalows for rent open and clean.
But hardly any people using them.
I'm sure they don't make any profit.
But provide a lot of jobs.
Stay home folks. Please.
We will continue to enjoy the quiet and beautiful parks.
great go ahead and pay the xenophobic prices fool... good I hate Pseudo Thais the most
Comments like this are so sad and unfortunately make me angry......ow how the forums have depreciated during the 11 years since I joined

By the way... It doesn't seem that national parks are the attracting facilities in thailand... Less than a hundred... Makes u think what most people do come for...
This is rubbish My friends and I visit more than 100 times per year birdwatching just locally[/quote
Good for ur friends, but if u would read the article that we are are referring to.. Than u will see they state its for that particular park less than a hundred a year... So, if u mean that they lie on their figure, than lets stop discussing meaningless topics
I have already posted about this inconsistency no one has reacted do the increased costs relate to all national parks or just the one mentioned

Sorry grammar errors in previous post
-
On my birdwatching trips I probably pay three or four times a week do not believe some earlier postscommenting that the national parks are call this is absolutely not the case some parks pair with any other in Asia
-
There are thousands of Farang visitors to national parks over all of Thailand be sure of that
-
Previous message dictated please excuse Dictation faults

It's some time since I posted on this forum and it seems everybody nowadays ignores the facts of the situation and wants just score points or be sarcastic or generally have a moan.
I posted earlier and know one is interested in trying to resolve the actual situation
I hope this is not typical of forum contributors

I don't understand this. Do the increased fees apply to all national parks? I am a birdwatcher and on a regular basis pay 200 bahtfor entrance to many superb national parks.I do not resent paying more than local Thais.
However it would be a blow if I've now got to pay 400 Baht In the original article there is a referenceto only 100 visitors in one particular park but then it goes on to say that this will be applied throughout . Does anybody know what's going on?

The info is there but not highlighted , read the updated VISA APPLICATION PACK see bottom left of page ie updated Apa 28.10.13 the application format has changed.Even the 65 or over with nothing but a pension to get a multiple entry non-o is apparently no longer available since the embassy now has to approve the application. The Hull consulate had that info on their website in the past but it is no longer there.
see also GENERAL VISA RULES & REGULATIONS 3/3. amended Aa 01.09.13. bold paragraph.its all there.
I phoned the Hull consulate today. They confirmed over 65 O is available with evidence of state pension only
Now needs approval from London though

If it ticks all the boxes for You ,so be it. .For Me its O.K, exept the Looks. Its dated and rather bland side on imo. As OMG noted the Gray and the Blue does nothing to help, i recon Brill White would give it more presence..... Just i was stunned by the price, hence my posting..
I think I agree about the looks as at now.......but in 10 years time....??
I have faith
-
No im not wasting your time, you have wasted your money imo.I was shocked at the price, plus its rated below a Suzuki at 500 K less by Auto Bild a respected Mag. Ive looked over one, OK nice, but the price is toooo hi for most folk
Price is objective it's only a touch more than the Honda CVR petrol.
I could have had a Honda in days any spec.......the fact that I may have to wait at least 3 months for delivery and the interest on this site points to a fair pricing
I plan to keep the car for maybe 10 years ......I can afford it and it is my choice.....I think Mazda would be silly commercially to sell any cheaper and the price is in fact a touch less than the UK list price although the detailed specs are different
If the price was out of step there would be no demand.....non of the reviews I have read and that's many say its expensive though the X3 is always referred to as expensive
I generally research my cars well ......I try to get the best financial deal then stick for years
Hope this helps you understand

You can buy a nearperfect pre owned X3, in England for 20K GBP.
Not the current model which is massively better than the previous model also I do not want someone else's specs
I paid about £40k in March 2013 net of a discount about £3500
The Mazda has most extras already included.......except GPS which was the purpose of my post
PS ACE......sorry to be a bit short with you on earlier posts I now understand your motives

Read the top gear review...it's describes the diesel as a "peach"
The diesel has had rave reviews in the UK.......if you have high mileage or will keep the car for a few years go for the diesel
See my other post......I have just ordered one
When will you get your? First i was promised delivery in April but today they said May Not happy
I ordered just before Christmas and was quoted 3 months but reading the other posts I am starting to have doubts I have emailed the dealership but he has dodged the question.
As to price I have a BMW X3 in the Uk....I have just returned. To Leicester.....you have to pay for what you get
My BMW was expensive and I actually think the Mazda is better value
Keep in touch

Thers no way that KK maintenance etc could be financed from admissions fees so the Thai people pay the shortfall from taxes.......hence the subsidy they get
lol
