To be counted as a COVID death in those CDC statistics, the death has to have COVID as the underlying (main) cause or a contributing cause as coded on the death certificate.

"Provisional data are non-final counts of deaths based on the flow of mortality data in NVSS. Deaths include those with COVID-19, coded to ICD–10 code U07.1, as an underlying or contributing cause of death on the death certificate."

'nuff said - 'contributing cause'...some health wreck with 8 serious conditions dies and trace of covid in them = covid death stat.

Although U.S. COVID deaths and hospitalizations have been declining lately, and are much down from their peaks of early 2023 a year ago, COVID is still killing more than 200 Americans per day, each and every day, in the U.S., more than 1,500 per week right now.

"Data during recent periods are incomplete because of the lag in time between when a death occurs and when a death certificate is completed, submitted to NCHS, and processed for reporting. This delay can range from 1 week to 8 weeks or more, depending on the jurisdiction. The most recent 3 weeks of mortality counts are shaded grey and mortality rates shown as dotted lines because NVSS reporting is <95% during this period."

    Is that the old :-

    died with covid

    or died from covid

    chestnut ?

  3. I think depression anxiety doubled during lockdown in world anyway.

    Section below

The impact of COVID on mental health

Recent surveys released by the OECD found that mental health has deteriorated significantly since the start of the COVID‑19 pandemic.

From March 2020 onwards, the prevalence of anxiety and depression increased in 15 selected OECD countries, including several European ones.

    Probably why it's such a non-topic also.

  4. So from the article it states :-

<<This makes it permanent for transactions conducted through Thailand’s licensed digital asset exchange operators, including trades done by licensed brokers and dealers.>>

So just have to check an exchange is licensed operator within the border to qualify for zero tax.

I think the UK is 10% or 20% depending on your income tax bracket.

  5. It looks like no taxes for trading permanent if you trade on approved Thai platforms ?

Of course a member may jump in and say I'm wrong...am here to learn from the wise men on this thread....👍

    https://www.techopedia.com/thailand-offers-crypto-tax-breaks

Am not sure these approved platforms can be easily joined by foreigners ?

Just looking to follow the rules vs trying to game anything and it catching up with me in future if resident long-term back in Thailand (currently away overseas but looking to relocate back if this is the case)...zero tax for traders or long-term investors ?

  6. Maybe less fun back home also - as you will be same age back home as here.

You've just passes into a new phase of life which can evoke 'mourning'...more so in west I'd say. I'd love to have my clubbing days back here and date lower 20s chix.

Still a possibility in Thailand on both fronts...never see over 35s much even maybe in UK nightclubs..not sure...

    Grass is always greener syndrome.

I had to go back in west due to family reasons and see both pluses minuses here.

Fresh air, Autumn, less brutal summers etc etc....higher overheads ad just generally costly. Luckily no mortgage or rent overheads for me while here.

I dunno how you could pinpoint the age down to 2 year intervals.

I've seen 26 year olds that could pass for 16.

My EX looked 25 when she was 35.

I saw a picture of her at 15 on her first day of work and I thought she was 9, lol. Seriously.

But she didn't have her period til 18, apparently, so maybe she was an unusual case.

    Tell it to the judge.
