  1. Hi, I am an Indian who has been residing in Thailand for about 16 years now and simply love it. Most of my best friends here are Thai. Coming to the issue as to whether Thais are racialistic......well they are basically racialistic to everyone including their own kind ie Isaan versus The Northerners versus the Southerners etc....let along the different ethnic foreigners. They are racialistic towards their own neighbours ie The Burmese, Cambodians, Laos, Vietnamese, etc. It all originates from their own insecurity and ignorance. Once you understand that, simply play it cool and do not take things to hard. Racialism exists everywhere....The US, in Singapore, In UK, everywhere.

I have never had any problems in my 16 years in this country and sometimes it boils down to the individual.....how you conduct and potray yourself.

Having said that, you can also rest assured.....one of the reasons that I love this country is that everything has a price and the locals here.....even if u are black, indian or an old, ugly looking and dirty farang, will lick your private parts without any hesitation, if you pay the right price!

Some of those who claim to be educated and speak English are also the same. Some of those ladies who are married to farangs and pretend to be hi-sos and make also say things like their kind hates blacks and farangs.....are most of the time also discriminated by their own fellow thais who normally label them as .......you know what.

About the issues of hating Indians.....ya .....me myself sometimes hate some of the Indians u see here..........they are such miserly and crude business people....worst than the Thai Chinese......but unlike the Thai Chinese......they keep a low profile......most of the hotels, service apt businesses, diamond trading, colourstone trading, garment manufacturing, land businesses, plastic and chemical businesses are all controlled by Indians here. who never give anything back to society.

Any yes, on the lower end ...u have those pathetic Indian Money Lenders, Peanut Sellers who really need a wash!

Again, Thais cannot differentiate between Indiand and Pakistanis. (The latter known for various criminal activities here in Thailand and often creating a bad name for the Indians who assume they are Indians. According to the Indian Embassy......there are only about less than 5 Indians languishing in the various in Thailand. Now compare that to the number of British Citizens, Taiwanese, Chinese, Malaysian, etc.......

About the Lord Buddha....whether he is Indian or a Nepalese (Thais still hate Nepales and still lump them up as Kek.)why the Thais are praying to a "smelly kek" , i will never know. In fact they also pray to a lot of other "smelly" Indian Gods ie Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Lakshmi, etc.......Guess it tell a lot about them.

But then again....as I said ealier on.....just relax and chill out......its a great place if you know how to play it....when people are stupid and ignorant......use it to ur advantage and always pretend to be nice to them......there is a thousand and one things to get revenge in a sweet way.And remember, always be financially above them....as money is actually their God here and you can do anything with money here....its fun!

Anyway.....coming back to the main thing.....I do not thing that the crime was perprated towards the OP,just because he was an Indian......I think that those lower life forms would have targetted anyone that they could take advantage of.

What I am curious is to wait and see waht else the OP has done about the legal issues ie police reports etc. And perharps he should also use his capability in the papers to have releases sent to other foreign papers so that people would be more careful about coming to Thailand.

  2. Was hoping that one of the newspapers there like the phuket gazette, can get hold of the names of the mafia and their pictures and post it up. Good to see waht the local cowards are like.....beating up a woman and maybe even pictures of families of these men ie their wives and mothers, kids, etc.

  3. Cannot comment on the exact amts but one thing is for sure, the amt is dwindling fast as more Professional expats are relocating to certain events like ttries like Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. Also seeing atnew trend of expats moving to Indonesia, India and also China. If you were to observe memberships of actual expats at the various Chambers Of Commerce, you can see that those figures are declining and also if you were to observe certain recent events like Amcham's Independence Day Celebrations, Ploenchit Fair, The Bumrungrad Abbual Healthy Living Fair, The International Women's Club Bazaar, YWCA's Bazaar.......the number of expats certainly dropped. Just look at the ads in Thaivisa and you can see how many are selling their homes due to relocations.

There is however a slight increase of younger British Blokes coming in to find work and live in Thailand but not belonging to the Professional work brackets, most have lower eductaion brackets. There is also a huge amount of Chinese Malaysians and Singaporeans (who are usually labelled as Ah Bengs) coming into Thailand and settling here and indulging in nefarious activities. Most have little education.

  4. What a waste of medical resources......helping overweight kathoeys.......there are poor poeple with more depressing and serious ailments that need help. I know of a poor 32 year old Thai guy over at Udomsul area who is in the latent stages of AIDs who cannot even get any acess to medical help as he has no money and the Govt's 30bt medical schme does not cover a lot of the treatments.

  5. Thanks guys...but already checked.....they do not have internet connections in their unit let alone have a laptop or computer........did this before posting the problem on the Thaivisa. I doubt he has any friends.

The thai things, I doubt are computer literate. Currently its about 9.40pm, they are having the usual loud quarrels in the unit, complete with screams, yellings and things crashing. The next time I ever buy a unit......it will not be a condo or a townhouse or a semi detached but rather a single home on a landed property with neighbours as far away as possible. (Doubt I can afford that in Bangkok though at the rate of land prices.!)

  6. Thanks for all ur suggestions and even some strange ones that were PM to me. Just to clear the air.......I ain't no snob and I have nothing about individuals from Isaan, etc or even about Brit Pensioners, etc. I do not care if a person is poor or rich , educated or not-educated but I do care for a certain degree of civility and general cleanliness and manners.

I just came back to my unit after work to see the same mess outside. Sights! I am planning something drastic but its not what some of u are thinking.......Yes I do wish they die! but I am not the one who will ever want to dirty my hands.

One of my Thai neighbours who also hate this family checked and found out that the Brit's chap details are not with the Juristic Office. By law, the juristic office is suppose to be having it and sending a copy to Immigration. They have asked him many times but he has never responded. The lease was taken under the name of the female thing! On the top of that, he never goes out and has a man of African origin visiting him sometimes and also my neighbour said the guards suspect that he has been taking certain narcotics by the poolside. What I am planning to to inform the authorities. But we want to do it the right way so that the whole family gets into a real serious mess not just say possession but more that that. I am willing to pay the authorities whatever. Trust me just give me a couple of days more to get rid of this trash. Thanks for all the suggestions but I do not think it will work on this lower life forms and that this might be the best action.

  7. Hi Astral, I my thai bf sometimes comes over and stays. He is a Bangkokian Thai Chinese and yes he is well connected and that why we are contemplating something drastic which I cannot mention . The juristic body has already contacted the thai owner of the unit that these trash have rented and he will only be back in bkk at the end of January 2011. There was many unoccupied units in the building which is new(ie 10 months old) and I think that he owner must have rented it out cheaply. On thing that I have not mentioned is that sometimes me and the rest of the neighbours have to also put up with the noise of them quarelling at the most unholy hours of the night! And sometimes they also fight at the corridor area, etc. Once, I think the Thai neighbours called the police.....who came but could not do anything!!!!!!! (I GIVE UP!).

Quite honestly...their fights and the noise does not bother me as coming back each day and seeing the trash outside the door......as if I bought my home in a slum! I actually came very close to hitting the "bitc...." once when I saw her throwing the trash outside. Having stayed in Thailand for a while now.......I have never had any problems but these days I am beginning to see thais in a different light especially the country bumkin types.(In the past I believed that everyone was equal and actually hated the ways the richer types looked down on the poorer ones......but this is changing my views. I am ever so so mad everyday. Imagine, working and saving your monies to buy a home and then having something like this.

  8. To Move out is going to be out....I paid Bt 8.4 for the unit and its not easy to sell plus I actually like the building and the location. I have tried being nice to them....even getting food hamper for the ladies and telling to help not put the trash there. The Brit does not seen to care and seems filthy himself and is always seemingly drunk. The juristic office does not know what to do and they have contacted the Thai owner of the unit who is currently overseas. I am actually planning to do something drastic and have been talking to thai friends about this. I am now beginning to understand why the thai chinese and upper strata thais simply detest others. I always though that Thais were very clean people but I guess I now know.My other thai neighbours simply treated them with total disgusts and will not even acknowledge them anymore and even call them names. Found out that the Brit is a pensioner and that his wife and her family are from Udon Thani. There is at least a minimum of about 18 to 20 empty bottles of Singha beer outside the door everyday! along with their other stinking trash. Just yesterday all the thai neighbours were complaining as they were cooking something that really stank the whole corridor and other units.

Besides what drastic schemes I was having.....does anyone really have any other constructive manners to deal with these people. Please no jokes funny comments.....if you stayed opposite them, you will understand the frustration and agony and anger that I go through each day.

  9. Hi, in the in the slightly upmarket condo project that we purchased and moved in about 9 months ago, everything was pefaceul and great and all the neighbours on my floor and even in the rest of the building are polite and seem nice and decent. We have had two events at the poolside that were attended by all the tenants and everything was great. There are only three foreign tenants in the buiding including me and we all get along. The problem or rather the nightmare started two months ago, when a unit on my floor which is directly across mine, which was vacant (as the owner is a thai who bought it merely for investment purposes)for a while was rented out to British Chap who had an Isaan Wife and her mum and sister. I had been very polite to them and normally greeted them in the lifts etc but then his wife started throwing trash just outside the door when there is actually a trash disposal area on the floor. She also sweeps the floor and simply throws the dirt outside. I did very gently ask her and her husband if they could please throw the trash in the designated area but it was simply ignored. The other thai neighbours ahd also spoken to them nicely but to no avail and we had complained to the juristic office which have warned them a few times but again to no avail. The wife and the mother would also take their laundry and wash them in the swimming pool/gym toilets and they will everyday go down there to have their showers etc and even the rest of the neighbours have commented about seeing them brush their teeth there. (Though its not really my concern. )They will also keep the tables by the poolside dirty, etc. I have stopped smiling or even talking to them and so has the rest of the neighbours and am actually thinking so doing something drastic. Any ideas? The sight of the trash just outside my door simply drives me bonkers. And the new corridors and lifts are always littered by them.

  10. They will not directly ask for money but will find some fault with you first such.....why not carrying passport, or will "find" something on you, etc. Here over at Pattaya, its starting to happen now, this morning near the Central Pattaya, (at about 1130hrs), cops were having a checkpoint just outside on the road and were checking both Thais and Foreigners.

  11. Its a trend that normally in the month Of December and early January, the cops would be trying to raise as much money as they did to give their superiors New Year Gifts for their promotions, good reports , etc plus also momies for their own families for the New Year. What they normally do is to target foreigners and try any methods of extortion. It seems more worsts this year and they are targetting Foreigners not only at the Asoke Area but also at Thonglor Intersections, Wireless/Ploenchit Road Intersection, Sathorn Roads(various Points), Din Daeng, Ratchadaphisek, Lardphrao, etc and also the Toursist Police are so do at various BTS Stations. Most of the time however, only Western Looking Foreigners are being targetted.. Best to warn your friends about not to come to Thailand this year.

  12. Isn't everbody here missing the main point here: According to international human rights laws found in various treaties, etc.........no sick prisoner is supposed to be cuffed to a cell in such a manner. Why did not the Honorary Consul do something about it despite all his visits. By condoning such a move by the local police there, he is not fit to be the Honnorary Consul and should be stripped of his position. Actions should also be taken to have the police who cuffed him punished. Please everyone.....send out emails to all your friends locally and overseas to see this article and get them to do some lobbying or else this could happen to you, or a friend or someone else one day.Thailand should not be having a seat on the UN with the way that it treats people.....locals or foreigners alike.Send out emails with links to this site to whichever media that you know too.

  13. Hi, I have a situation whereby a thai lady married to westerner officially wants to buy a home in hua hin without her husband knowing or having to co-sign it at the land office. I have managed to secure financing for her at a bank without using her husband but her mother but as a guarantobut found out at the land office that as she is offically married to a westerner, she has waived off her rights to buy a landed property in thailand and that it can be checked as she is officially married. Is there any way around it? Thanks.

  14. Stop going to Bumrungrad, BNH, Samitivej, etc....actually the Dusit Medical Grp that owns BNH, Samtivej, Bangkok Gen, etc is much worst. According to a friend who works there, its now the grp's policy to make money and thats all. Doctors will get commisiions for prescribing tests, more medicine and also surgeries, etc. Also.....its a common procedure to charge froreigners more than locals. Go to Singapore, healthcare is excellent and cheap there. F......this country that is simply xenophobic.

  15. Having stayed in Thailand for the last 15 years and seeing doctors at BNH and Bumrungrad, Chula and Samitivej, my advice is not to trust Thai Doctors......you got to understand the local education is simply shits! So what do u expect from the doctors who come out of it. I always fly back to Singapore for whatever medical ailments I have......its cheaper these days and better.

    Regards

  16. Why doesn't that reporter from the Nation write about the rampant manufacturing, distribution and selling of pirated goods in Thailand that is causing millions of dollars in losses to foreign companies. The products range is so extensive these days, not only fashion, luxury goods but also cosmetics, skincare, perfums, foodstuffs and medical products. According to an online report, Thailand these days is a hub for fake medical and pharmaceutical products including things like hormones, glutathione, collagen, etc.

It seems that this government and the locals are getting more and more xenophobic and only blaming foreigners for everything. It time that the stupid foreigners stop coming to Thailand and also start boycotting everything Thai and if possible find ways to create more eceonomic hardships for these people. Lobby your governments to also stop all investments and aid to this xenophobic country.

  17. <deleted>! OH PLEEZE! Can these Thai academics and most straights out there first stop lumping gays and transgenders under the same categories!Almost 95% of gay men hate transgenders or being evenly identified with them in any way.

For most people: If you are a male and you like females, then you are heterosexual. If you are a male and you like males or a female who likes females, then you are gay. I cannot figure out why a normal guy would go for something like a trangender? Though it might come as a surprise to most people about my religious views though I am gay, I think that its against God's will to play around with your body and start changing the gender you are born with.

I used to feel pity for transgenders before and was doing some volunteer work for a few groups, both in the region and locally years ago, but I gave up after realising that almost 99% were misfits in almost everyway. In thailand, most of these transgenders like and enjoy their devious livehoods and are beyond salvation. I think that NGOs should be spending their efforts, resources and money helping the more deprived people like orphans, the physically sick, the aged, people with HIV, etc instead of these particular group. In terms of priority, should be wasting our time concentrating on people who have an issue wit the physical sexuality or a normal person who is going through sickness, poverty, issues of being abandoned, natural disasiers, etc?

I do apologise in advance if my personal comments do upset anyone.

  18. As a warning to all others! Stay away from any kind of drugs please! It damages among many other things.....your brain. As you can see here one of the results of drug abuse is the inability to communicate effectively....be it writing or speaking skills! Just refer to concerned postings! LOL!
