The LLC is a 50/50 split partnership. My tax forms unfortunately categorized my income as non-passive on Form E.

Due to that, I was denied. It is all rather annoying as it seems an LLC is really an enigma.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately, my application was denied due to the LLC "distributions" being considered by the BOI as being non-passive.

I guess from now on, I get the privilege of dealing with accountants & hoping the DTA will cover me.

Except for one issue:

I am a LLC member, income is considered "distributions" not "dividends."

Is this grounds for disqualification?

I have a BMW e36 that has all the parts of an M3 on it, including the engine, I also have a Mercedes CLK 55 conversion as well. There are shops in Thailand that their core business is converting BMW in M or Mercedes into AMG.

I have:

25 year old BMW  E36 (M3 Conversion)

13 year old Mercedes CLK 55 (conversion)

10+ year old Toyota 4x4 (4 door)

New Toyota Fortuner

The BMW is cheaper to maintain over the Mercedes, Mercedes parts are far more expensive than the BMW. Further more, Thais do not give a flying fig about parking etiquette.   I park far away from the shopping center entrance to avoid door dings, but it does not make a difference, I still get door dings.

Of all the cars the Toyota 4x4 has been the cheapest car to own.  I have had it for around 6 years, and all I have ever done, is buy a new battery and change the oil.   It isn't a garage queen, more built for the mountains, lifted a little, with protective bars. and over sized bumpers .

I love to drive, and love "drivers" cars.....   but due to constant battle I have in trying to keep the BMW and Mercedes in good condition....   

my advice, get a Toyota as any "nice" car you buy will be a chore to maintain.

I've had to show my air line ticket stub to prove I had been in Thailand for less than 24 hrs. According to the ticket stub, I had been in Thailand for about 22 hrs, the IO said I was "lucky.“

I had this happen to me, except it was my wife (now my ex) that thought it was time for an upgrade, all while our youngest was still in diapers. 

I pretty much lost everything, my dignity and my two sons.

Barrier of entry is rather low, which is why this area is saturated. 

Understand that as a "boyfriend" anything she makes through this endeavor you have no legal access to the money.  (which statistically, the rate of which start ups fail, this would not be a problem)

I have donated to such an endeavor,  and with my experience 100K BHT will not go far, as MOQ demands from manufactures will be high. Further more, there will be other costs such as getting Thai FDA approval, packaging design fees, packaging fees if outsourced.   Also, cosmetics do have a shelf life (creams and such)  What I have seen is that they have a color change over time.  My wife has been lucky as her suppliers have allowed her to return the older inventory and have it replaced free of charge (minus shipping fees etc).

Your girlfriend will also need to register the company, and there are fees for that as well.
