  1. Some posts have been deleted.

she wants kids but im not ready for them yet.

A year ago, in Visa for pregnant girlfriend, you said

I've recently found out my Thai GF is pregnant! YAY!! We've had the Thai marrige but I'm looking into getting married properly in England and have the baby born in England as well!

    Please be consistent.

If you genuinely want advise on obtaining a UK visa for your wife/girlfriend/whatever; ask. But don't play games.

Also, as I said to you in that other topic, be prepared for people to post answers you don't like and question what you say; that's what happens in a forum.

    things change!!!

  2. There is, at present, no actual figure; just 'enough.'

How much that is depends on a couples circumstances and, to some extent, where they live.

However, as a guide your minimum available income should be the income support level for a family of your size.

For a childless couple where both are over 18 that is, currently, £105.95 per week.

However, as said, this is a guide; your wife may still get her visa if your joint income is below this figure; for example if you are living with a family member who is supporting you.

Remember that income support levels will change and the government may decide to introduce a minimum income level for spouse/partner settlement. You should check everything when the time comes to apply and not rely on information which may be out of date by then.

I've amended your topic title from "Just Plain English, Please!" to something which better reflects the information you are seeking.

thanks for thew info! im a bit worried as im 29 and she is 30 so when it comes to do the big move if it doesn't work she wont have much time (body clock wise) to start a new family. i'm really trying to think what is best for her! she wants kids but im not ready for them yet. ive got a lot of plans to start a business when i get back to england so im trying to save money up whilst in thailand to fund it. im sure this will affect our application in a negitive way as i wont have a garunteed job when i move back to england i'll be setting up from scratch. so really im trying to figure out would it be best to break things off with her now so she still has time to have a family that she wants so bad! im just worried that if she stays with me i cant give her what she wants! also very worried about how she will settle in england! :(

  3. So I've been searching and searching and searching but I cant find anywhere an actual figure for this! In a few years I may want to have my Thai GF move to England with me when my work contract ends. I've looked on various sites (including UK immigration and UK border control) and I've read that I need to prove that I can afford to support my GF in England by providing bank statements as she will not be allowed to work. so what is the actual amount of hard cash I will need to prove I have in order for my GF to be allowed a visa? As I understand it I will have to pay for everything myself without resorting to public funds (Fair enough!! She's not put into public funds so why should she be allowed to draw from it) but I can't find find anywhere an actual amount I need in my bank as a minimum to forfill these requirements. I'm very dyslexic so understanding the legal gumpf on these websites is quite difficult for me. Can someone explain to me in plain English along with actual figures and amounts what requirements I need? Many thanks for any help anyone can provide!!

  4. um, I think the lady in question was enquiring as to the likelihood of 'brewers droop' ;)

and what you heard as 'han' was probably 'ham' ?

    'por yai'= enough big

'dai mai'= can (as a question)

and I don't need to know the answer, thank you very much :)

ah yes! i do know all those words only not in that order! when its spelt out for me it actually makes sense now! duh! what a dunce! lol!

  5. We've spoken to the following companies:

    Thai Cardboard

    Thai Carton

    Complete Packaging

    Ekarach Paper

    Bangkok Package Industry

    Intergreen Group

are any of these companies on the internet? it is my experiance that most companies in thailand dont have a website so its difficult to see what it is they actually produce. i am looking for cardboard box manufacturers in thailand to supply custom made boxes in bulk with our company logo printed on them. any further help to this thread is appriciated!

P.S. sorry for hi-jacking this thread! :whistling:

  6. They don't limit the number of entries, you can come and go as many times as you need, on each entry you would be stamped permitted to stay 90 days.

oh ok i see! only on my visa form it asks for 'number of entries requested'

so when i get a 1 year 'b' class visa i can come and go as i please as many times as i want? thats pretty cool!

  7. OK that brillient guys! thanks a lot! i was asking because im thinking of getting a tattoo and i wanted something that was pretty but didnt say 'dumb farang has face of chicken' or something else like that ha ha ha! phonetic spelling is great for my purposes so thanks a lot these are brillient!! :D

  8. Hello!! im looking for how my nick name is written in thai script! I've asked my girlfriend and she has given me three versions but I want to know which is the most accurate!

My nick name is LEFTY. (When giving a translation please make the script large as I cant read Thai and would like to print it out) Many thanks for your help. :)

  9. Like every other good size town or city I've been too. You can find entertainment if you look/ask around or do your research on the internet before your visit to Roi-Et. That applies to the cultural side and the night life.

done plenty of research on internet. just cant find anything!! asked around and i just get blank looks as if to say 'dont know of anything!!' but i still have hope!!

are there any night clubs in roi-et??

  10. Why is someone appointing a foreign child of 28 as manager?

    SC

because ive been working in the factory in england for many years and im here to show the workers how to use various machinery and tools and im the only one with the experience in the factory that he can trust! as for office stuff its all new to me!!

............I'm going to Greece for two months ...........

Clearly indispensable to the factory - how will they get by without you for two months?

You are obviously both only doing the jobs you are because of your parents. Accept that and you may have made the first step towards resolving the problem.

    streetcowboy

Since when was someone a 'child' at age 28? I suppose you'll be wanting to raise the age of consent to 30 will you, just to be on the safe side.

    John Leech

Sometimes if you have nothing good to say it's better off not saying anything. What has the OP done to you that gives you the right to attack his self esteem with comments like that? It's just nasty.

    Thank you Tigs!!

As some one has already stated there is a lot of 'holier than thou' attitude of TV, which I find counter productive! And you are clearly right, at 28 I'm hardly a child anymore!!! But of course what does 'a child of 28' know about anything?? Not wanting to blow my own trumpet and sound egotistical but I've been through a lot (3/4 years homless plus a whole rack of other stuff too numerous to mention) and probably have more life experiance than some people twice my age!! Thats not to say I know everything and dont need to ask for advice from time to time!!;)

  12. i guess non of u guys are good at watching soap operas in thailand?

whats life without a bit of drama?? as annoying as it is it certainly makes life intresting!!! ;)

    true, very true :)

you decided what you're gonna do about it yet?

As for having the baby in England:- Just cant do it!! Too much money and too much stress!!

As for the step sister:- I'm going to Greece for two months (business) and if she still has a problem when I get back I'm just going to tell her that this stupid childishness stop NOW!! If she has a problem or dosen't agree with me, talk to me about it . Dont just go off in a sulk about it! Its too damaging for the family and the business. If she doesnt like me thats fine but dont bring it to work! I'm not going to accept it in the work place!!! Its her bag not mine I've done all I can to resolve the situation and I havent got time to stroke her ego 24/7! I've got my family to think about and I've got a job to do. So if she wants to be awkward then do it in her own time not on company time!!! Can't do much more than that!!!

  13. Yeah I know 16 and office manager!! But sacking her just is not an option!

    1. I dont have the authority to do that

    2. Dads away most of the time and left the day to day running up to us!

    3. I've never been a manager before (and lets be honest how many 28 year old factory managers are there?) so I'm learning on the fly. I know about the production side of things and how the machines work e.t.c. but the nuances of being a manager are new to me!

    4. Social politics of Thailand and social politics of the family makes this a sensitive situation!

Thanks for the advice so far!!:jap:

I really feel its getting to the point of setting the ultamatum!!

But I'm now in the prediciment that I cant go back home because of the pregnant wife!!! So basicly I'm f**ked unless this can get sorted out!!

Would love to say to her to stop being such a petulant child but that will just make the situation worse!!

  14. For some reason my Thai stepsister has decided for whatever reason she doesnt like me!

I get on fine with step mum and step brother, and the rest of the family.

Me and step-sister work together, me factory manager her office manager. She is 16 and im 28 (I'm from england btw). We all live together in the factory (each with own rooms) with the office staff. I'm fine with everyone else in the company but step-sis has a real problem with me. Everyone says 'good morning' to me apart from her! Everyone always smiles at me apart from her! All i get from her is un-absolute straight face! No smile, no nothing! Just bearly disguised contempt! When I walk into a room and they are all sharing a joke I will ask 'whats the joke?' her face will instantly drop from smile to deadly serious when everyone around her is still smiling! I asked her what it was all about and she said its because I dont listen to her! This doesn't ring true because when we have to make a decision together I always ask her if she has any ideas and make sure she agrees with what we are about to do.

I also feel she only gives me half the informaton as quite often I will make a decision (on information given) and then act on said decision only to find out half way through the job that I cant do this or that because of something or other!! I've told her I can only make a decision with the information that I'm given but the problem still persists! I think she is doing it to make me look bad and 'lose face'. the company cannot survive if we dont get on and if that happens a lot of people will lose jobs!! All because of her being childish!! I'm nearly at the point where I just dont want to talk to her at all!!! But at the same time I dont want to upset my Dad and more importantly I dont want to upset the family!!!! What do i do????

    Any help??:(
