  1. Yeah but I don't buy complete PC's... Complete PC's are crap no matter what expensive brand you think you buy because the parts inside aren't A quality. If you want a good PC you build it yourself or let them do it with the best A quality parts you selected.

So if you want your warranty on Koh Samui you need a shop that sells good parts, not whole pc's. So that is my question, do any of these shops sell quality parts? As in Mainboards, CPU's, RAM , harddrives etc etc or do they only have complete PC's, printers and LCD screens in store?

See nobody fixes computers... Either you reinstall windows and all is fine again or a part is broken and you can't fix a part, it needs to be replaced, if these shops don't sell parts I have to go to Bangkok anyway.

  2. Here in Pattaya all the pet shops basically sell the same "crap" if I might call it like that. I got one of those roller leashes but it was broke after 2 weeks, still using it though but they have nothing else. Also nothing decent for the dog to lay in locally.

So does anyone know a good pet shop in Bangkok that sells some quality goods? What I need the most is a good short leash preferably leather. I can't find a short non roller leashes here at all and the rollers are worthless.

  3. So if I want to have a walk and have that real tropical beach experience with nothing but palms and trees on the back of the beach instead of a boulevard/hotels/bars/restaurants, which part of which beach preferably near Bo Phut/Chaweng would have the longest strip of sand where you won't have to see human structures when you take your eyes of the water?

I presume there are cheap songthaews driving around the entire island like here so beaches further away would be interesting as well.

  4. Great Mole, I have bad timing! Need to get there with 3 days to see what a regular 1.3m low tide does to the beach since it won't get low anymore the rest of the month like here and my current lease is ending. Over here that's enough to turn 10m wide into 200m wide, I hope the regular low tides have a nice effect on Koh Samui beaches as well.

  5. Yes offcourse my enquiries are serious. I'm going there in a couple of days but I'm paying rent, have to pay for a hotel there and an expensive pet hotel for my cats and dog here so my time is limited being on a budget.

I need to know where to go and what to expect since I might like it so much I'll try to rent a place once I'm there.

  6. http://www.thailandmarineguide.com/tidetable_samui_october_2009.php

That a tide table for Koh Samui. As you can see the level of the water for this month varies between 1.3m above lowest water level and 2.7m above lowest low tide water level. The picture might be an extreme example but doesn't it make a big difference in how wide the beach get every day? Could someone describe how broad some of the beaches are at low and high tide?

I love walking and jogging on the flat wet sand, something that is rather unpleasant if the water doesn't drop back far enough.

  7. Yes I think it's gonna be Nathon since I need a good supermarket within 5km range. Would installation of 3BB be available for any home/condo in Nathon?

Here in Pattaya it's kind of a mess... I have True now which is perfect but the building next door only has the option of Satelite for example and I waited 4 months without result on Max here before I got True.

  8. I found this picture below from Koh Samui with Full Moon Monsoon it said. On pattaya beach this happens about 200 days each year, when the low tide drops to 1m that lousy strip of 10m broad beach all of a sudden becomes 200m wide filled with kneedeep shallow pools.

Does what I see on this picture happen regularly on Koh Samui beaches or was this a rare occasion?

  9. Thanx, also the local dog rescue offered to do it for 30thb/day which is pretty tempting. My biggest issue now is finding a propper accomodation for myself. I only have 8000thb/month to spend on the room itself excl water/electricity and need a stable internetconnection. I'm afraid my cats and dog wouldn't be allowed even if I found a place like this.

  10. I stay in Thailand on a tourist visa so after 60 days I need an extension of 30 days followed by a border run to activate the second visa and idem 90 days later I need to visit a thai embassy outiside thailand to apply for another double entry tourist visa. So far I've been heading to Laos but this is too far away from Koh Samui.

Have people been heading to Malaysia? Is it easy and free of hastle? What are the costs? I presume a visa run from Koh Samui heads for Malaysia right? How are experiences with the Kuala Lumpur embassy?
