I have a verified paypal account linked to my krungsri savings account.

I can:

- Receive payments

- Make payments

- Withdraw money from the paypal account to the krungsri account.

I could not manage to easily credit my paypal account from my krungsri account. I had to send myself a money request and use another credit card to do this.

I am French. When one is registered at the Embassy, everything is easier, faster and often cheaper (e.g. new passport, ID card). It takes only 15 minutes to register. Valid 5 years.

No reason not to do it, for the French.

I had a True Billion USB modem. I bought a D-Link DSL-2640T Wireless router two months ago. I am very satisfied. Very easy to set up.

My only complaint: There is no switch to turn it off.

I got the same problem and the only solution was:

1) Download the latest Ultimate Boot CD. It contains freeware utilities. It should include a software called Volkov Commander (usually freeware beta-version 4.99)

2) Burn a CD

3) Boot from the CD

4) Browse the menu and launch Volkov Commander

5) When asked, enable NTFS support (if your HD is NTFS formatted)

6) Browse to the folder or file you want to delete

7) Delete it

8) Reboot to Windows

I have been using True ADSL service for 3 years. The service is reasonnaby good is my area (Bangkok). My package is 512 Kb/s down and 256 up. I pay THB 750/month (THB 802.50 inc. VAT). I used to get about 850 Kb/s down until a few days ago but their promotion (+ 256 Kb/s free) is now finished.

I feel I could get better speeds from other ISPs. Has anybody changed of ISP recently and doesn't regret it?

Hey guys, I've recently been trying to get a torrent stream to work in Thailand but so far have been unsuccessful. I've downloaded both BitTornado and Burst and tried to download the latest season of Prison Break but can't seem to get any connections. At first I thought it was a setup issue with port forwarding etc. so I disconnected my router and hooked my PC straight to the DSL modem provided by True. Then I disabled all firewall programs. Still no connection with either client. At best I can see another peer, but there are 0kb uploaded and 0kb downloaded.

Has the goverment of Thailand blocked some sites? Am I using the wrong clients? What engines are you using to search for torrents?

I also have a TRUE 512/256 connection and everything is normal (about 85 KB/s) when I donwload torrents. I use utorrent.

The file you downloaded may not have enough peers or have a poor peer/seed ratio. Try downloading a Linux distro CD and check the results.

Hello.

Since end of last week i noticed a rather massive (>50%) decrease in speed when downloading torrents. My internet connection is a TRUE 512/256 and it has, months ago, been "upped" by them to 768/384. According to the speed test i am still getting that speed, but torrents have slowed to a crawl - i was able to get 85 KB/s down, 36 KB/s up.... now it's more like 35 KB/s down, 20 KB/s up.

I have asked in a forum on the torrent site i'm active and several Bangkok-based users seem to have the same issue with their TRUE connections, and not only on that particular site but on others as well.

Is anyone else (from here) affected as well? Any solution to this?

These are just the same. DVDrip means that the movie was compressed from the real DVD not from a camera in a theatre. It is the best quality.

DivX and Xvid are the same. An uncompressed DVD is about 4 GB. A ripped DVD (XVid or DivX, usually an AVI file) is typically about 700 MB depending on the length of the movie. Download and install K-Lite Codec pack (freeware) and you will be able to play every format on your computer.

If the movie is compressed and your DVD player is relatively old, you will need a special software to uncompress it before burning it.

Read carefully the comments from other users before downloading to ensure that it's not a fake.

Hi I just got my laptop repaired at a small shop in Panthip plaza and its working fine now. There are a number of small shops located on the second floor. They actually fixed it while i waited.

Pantip Plaza are good for batterys. I found one foe my old Sony, but I didn't think it was worth it due to the age of my laptop. It was around 3000 baht. My laptop is almost 7 years old.

I am French. My wife is Thai. We have an 8 year old daughter. She has both Thai and French passports. Just go to the consulate (Charoen Krung road) with birth documents to officially register the birth of your kid. Your wife and kid do not need to go.

If he used a thermal pad I didn't see it. Is the pad integrated with the fan?

Check your case temperature. The CPU temperature should be about 5-10 degrees higher than the case temperature. If it's lower, the CPU temperature sensor is the culprit.

Thermal paste or pad is definitely needed. If you don't use, your CPU will automatically run slower to pervent damage or your computer will unexpectedly shut down when too hot.

I bought a budget Biostar mobo and a Pentium D 820 chip in Malaysia. The setup worked fine for a few days, then I got tired of the fan spinning at 4000 rpm and making all that noise, so I went into the BIOS and changed a few things. Basically, I changed the fan control, from full on to "smart". This reduced the rpm's from around 4000 to around 2000. The CPU temp rose from around the mid to high 30's © to 40ish.

The problem is that now the computer won't restart without a little help. You have to turn the power supply off, wait a couple seconds, and then hold the power button in for a few seconds. It took me a day or so to figure this out. But, if I have a house fan blowing into the case with the side panel off, most of the time (<90%) it will restart with no problem. So I think there is a problem with the heat sensor.

Just thought I would let you know, I also dropped the cpu on the ground from a couple of feet up. I was opening the new box, checking out the fan, opened the plastic bubble to get at the fan, and didn't notice the cpu was in a little niche on the "outside" of the plastic bubble. So, when I opened the package, the cpu popped out and fell on the ground. oops.

My D820 runs at 50-60 degrees without any problem. I wonder whether you applied the thermal paste properly when you installed the heatsink on your CPU. If not done correctly, actual temperature would be much higher than measured by the sensor.

I was bored of the noise of Intel retail heatsink/fan and changed to a better quality product. My computer is now completely silent.

Speedfan is a good free software but it isn't easy to set for a beginner.

I have a computer with a X1600 Pro graphic card. I used to get the same type of problem. Cli.exe is the Catalyst Control Center (CCC) Client. It is very slow, buggy and is a resource hog. You don't need it. Only the display driver is required for your computer. Uninstall Catalyst.

If you use XP, download and install the display driver only. Use ATI Tray Tool instead (small freeware) if you want to change your settings or to overclock your card.

If you use Vista, choose custom installation and install the display driver only without Catalyst.

I've been getting this error message on my new 64-bit computer that's running an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 video card with 256 mb memory. This message commonly pops up and freezes the screen when I am playing a game that requires just a bit of graphics acceleration - NBA Live 07.

Here it is...

I have already reinstalled the driver but the message is still popping up. My computer is using AMD Turion 64 mobile Technology and it has 512 Mb of RAM.

Any idea what's going on here?

For about one week, I noticed an improvement in download speeds. I use a 512/256 package.

I used to get:

D/L 480 Kbs (local) - 350 Kbs (international)

Now I get:

D/L 870 kbs (local) - 670 kbs (international)

There is a little improvement in upload speeds too.

Has anybody else noticed the difference too?

I sell an Intel Pentium D820 CPU (2.8 GHz).

Suvarnabhum is not perfect but none is. Changing lights and adding toilets and so on would be much cheaper than opening Don Muang back. Opening it would require to hire thousands of employees. How about electricity, air conditioning and other overhead costs?

The govenrment should fix and extend Suvarnabhum. Don Muang should be destroyed and replaced by a nice public park.
