He looks rather jovial for someone that's just lost a million baht ????

Add Ban Phe / Koh Samet to the list, there's coach loads of Chinese tourists coming everyday for day trips to Samet. The 7/11 near the pier is like a minefield every morning with Chinese tourists shouting every where you turn ????

Hi InTransit,
I would have no problem saying the item is worth 99 dollars even though it is likely more, plus I am a bit concerned now as I have shipped to Canada so hopefully these buyers wont do the whole item not received, fedex sounds like a good option as thaipost is 1200 bhat so taking the cost of shipping and time taken to arrive/poor tracking for Canada its not worth the risk. I think I would loose a lot of sales if I was to exclude Canada, but it makes me wonder if ebay users in Canada are buying off ebayers in Thailand in the knowledge it wont be tracked so they will refund. I have decided for now to halt selling on ebay and sell 50 cent tiny Thai items purely to gain a good sellers feedback, this means paypal will not hold onto funds on sales etc, so out of interest how much does it cost to send a tiny 5 gram item? looking forward to the day Thailand has a cheaper postal service. 1200 bhat for fedex isn't bad though even more so if they collect from your door, cheers
Hi Ryan
i don't like to be too cynical but i'm sure there are buyers on eBay from certain countries exploiting the loophole knowing parcels can't be tracked in their country. For lower value items i simply use Thailand post registered airmail, the weight i send is minimal and cost is about 140 baht to the U.S. The parcel can be tracked throughout it's journey, both on the Thailandpost website and USPS website.
Good luck!!!

FedEx are good, if the value of your parcel is under $100 you can ship via FedEx Pack, shipping to the U.S. is about 1200 baht, Australia is about 900-1000 baht. Your parcel can be tracked throughout it's journey and will arrive within 3-4 days depending on delivery location. If the declared value of the parcel is over $100 then you have to use a FedEx box which is more expensive, not sure of the exact price for a FedEx box. I have used Thailand Post registered airmail regularly for the last 14 or so years and they are fantastic, never lost a parcel. If i have ever had a problem it has been with the postal service in the destination country. Canada post is absolutely useless, i refuse to ship there via registered airmail as it can't be tracked once the parcel leaves Thailand and takes forever to arrive. I will only ship there via FedEx.

Be a man, take the ban. Why not try Laos, Cambodia etc? They appeal to the same sort of people who like Thailand.
He might have children in Thailand? The OP mentioned he overstayed due to " a number of personal reasons", could be a messy break up involving family.

he steals a 6 Baht candy in a store (which...let's face it: we all have done!)
no DM, not all of us have not stolen.
thank you for an indication of your morals.
altho'some of your posts do indicate just "where you are coming from"

Get off your moral high ground, you know what DM was trying to say. Just out of interest do you agree with the punishment handed out to the little boy?

Wow, what vile human beings you all are, a person died and all you can do is spew crap out about Darwinism, I am sure all you angels have never been in a fight with a sibling or never been the cause of an accident, a person died here and there family member must be feeling terrible and blaming themselves.
"a person died here and there family member must be feeling terrible and blaming themselves"
are you referring to his compassoinate brother that done a runner?

I can't understand why people would use an agency for so valuable and important a matter.....
Because it sucks waiting in an over crowded immigration room, surrounded by whining old guy's .
You think you are some young and special person that should have a different set of rules to everybody else.I am am sure you have plenty of time on your hands to go to immigration with the old guys you complain about.
You seem to be supporting fake immigration stamps so maybe hopefully some one from the government will pick up your OP and have you deported otherwise if its too much of a bother then suggest you get the hell out of here and park your pathetic young body in another country.
Steady on Howzat, you'll give your self a heart attack old chap. Is it medication time???

Been here 16 years and have been scammed is so many ways. Many friends lost everything due to the cunning Thai's, and have retuned to their home country broke.
One thing they are good at is getting the money out of you, and then when you are broke they say, adios amigos.
If I had to do it over again I would chose Malaysia. My days here are numbered.
What about the friends stupidity, does that not come into it? How many of the friends you are talking about, are overweight, tattooed, facial haired, have, or should I say had, plenty of money and actually believed it when they were called "hansome man"?
I have tattoos and facial hair, i don't sit in bars all day waiting for some old brass to call me "hansome man" so whats your point? Your post is stupid and makes you sound like a complete bigot. Contrary to your beliefs not every one with tattoos are alcoholics loitering around bars waiting to get ripped off mate, yawn!!!!
My post is not stupid, I have friends with tattoos and facial hair, and I respect their right to have that, but that does not mean they are not ugly and revolting looking, just as you may think my long hair is ugly and revolting looking, and I certainly would not fall out with you if you told me that.
Money apart, what attractive Thai girl would prefer a facial haired, tattooed guy to a fully shaven, non tattooed guy?
Another stupid post, some attractive Thai girls might prefer a tattooed guy to a non tattooed guy, every ones prefrences are different, your comment is a sweeping generalization. You seem to think you know what all Thai ladies look for in a man!!! Incredible, i wish i had your knowledge BEFORE i got any tattoos lol.......(although my long time Thai partner is very attractive and has no problems with my tattoos and facial hair). She is very respectable, and i did not find her in a bar either, imagine that!!!

I have just gone through the whole process to become the legal parent by Thai law to my 2 children. I am not married and have been with my long term Thai partner for about 9 years.
I contacted an International law firm in Bangkok to ask how much the process would cost me going through the court system, I was quoted around 85,000 baht for each child (not including additional fees for correspondence ect...) absolutely outrageous amount. So I decided to visit a few local law firms in my town, the first one had never done the process before so I moved onto the second law firm. They spoke limited English but that was not a problem as my Thai girlfriend translated anything myself or the lawyer could not understand. He quoted 20,000 baht for both children (10,000 baht per child). That was the price for everything from start to finish, no hidden charges.
The first step was for the lawyer to contact the local juvinille/family court where we had a meeting arranged to meet with the equivilant of a welfare/social worker. Myself, my girlfriend and my children had to attend along with my girlfriends mother. First my girlfriend and I were interviewed, they asked what employment I did in my home country, yearly income, how long I had been with my girlfriend ect ect.....they asked my children informally if I was their dad and a few other questions. After that my girlfriends mother who had been waiting outside was interviewed alone and was asked similar questions to what my girlfriend and I was asked. Everything matched up so that was fine. All in all we were there for about 2 hours in total.
Next we were given a court date which was about a month away. My girlfriend, children and I along with a close friend of my girlfriend who could vouch for us that we were telling the truth to the court attended court with my lawyer. The judge asked me around 20 questions relating to my income in my home country, where my children were born, dates of birth ect ect....no akward questions, asked my girlfriend the same questions and then her friend and that was it. About 3 weeks later the clerk of the court phoned my girlfriend to say the judged had approved and signed the relevant paper work and we collected it.
Last thing, with paper work signed by the judge in hand we went to our local amphur office, presented it to the lady at the desk, in less than 2 hours they had changed my son and daughters names by law to my surname on their birth certificates and various other bits of paper and I am now the recognized legal father of my 2 children by Thai law.
(P.S. my son who had just turned 7 years old AFTER the court case even got his first Thai I.D. card with my surname all in the same afternoon). The local amphur were very efficient and friendly. The whole process was painless and took about 2 months from start to finish.

Where in the original story does it say he was drinking? You only assume he was drinking, Assumptions are the mother of all (insert word here).
Don't waste your breath mate, the TV detectives have already convicted him in kangaroo court, its pathetic !!!

This is the third time I'm asking the OP where's he's from? Muslims like him but Thais don't. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I have more Thai friends than falung friends. We play golf together do business together and socialize in general. Sometimes they prefer to speak English sometimes Thai but I know they would never talk to me if I smelled like an Arab's jockstrap.
What about if you just smelled like a jockstrap?

It does not worry me as I only watch TV on ThaiExpat tv so can watch all matches on BBC or ITV. Then I can watch live or with the great facilities this web site has can either watch later at a more convenient time or even record and save to my hard drive. With my computer wired up to my TV I get all I need.
The best thing I ever did was get rid of True as now with 13 channels to choose from I can watch many of the sports I enjoy including cricket, rugby. tennis and occasionally darts at a fraction of the cost and watch many other good drama series or quiz shows that i like.

"I have a non-O visa"
If this is your latest extension of stay experience, you have/had an extension of stay, not a visa. A non-O visa dies after it is used.
"Officer was very friendly (not sure if this last throughout the day)"
Nice that everything went smoothly and quickly. Too bad you couldn't just say the officer was very friendly. Was the add-on speculative comment really needed? I'm always impressed at how patient and friendly the officers are all day long even when they have to deal with people who are never satisfied.
The threadstarter clearly states that he has a VISA Non immigrant O (spouse/family)!!!!!!!!!!! He is clearly stating that his VISA is expiring 10th june,,, and because of that he goes to the Immigration and apply for an extension of stay based on marriage....
Why all this negative writing, and than you accuse the OP for being negative..... I dont understand some people really!!
Glegolo
You'll get used to it Glegolo, that's all Suradit69 does, they think they are a spokesperson/defender of everything Thai

You ask, what appears as a simple question.
This being Thailand the answer might be along the lines of ...
If you poor and unconnected, a custodial sentence roughly in line with the crime.
If, however, you have influence, connections or a deep wallet, that may influence the above statement.
A statement stronger then the above maybe inappropiate.
Let's just hope that none of us discover, first hand, the appalling conditions of either a Bail Cell or worse a Prison.
Yes but he's asking what are those sentances that are roughly in line with the crime

I guess i need to learn how to handle it.
Any suggestions?
Stay in your own country ?

Maybe they don't speak or understand English. People from English speaking countries often assume everyone speak their language.
Unless you are talking to an alien I think most people worldwide understand what Hello or Hi means
All foreigners in Thailand are aliens.
You are a bit late, someone else already stated the same as you a few hours ago, never mind mate

Probably, but it was "How are you"
Unless you are talking to an alien I think most people worldwide understand what Hello or Hi meansMaybe they don't speak or understand English. People from English speaking countries often assume everyone speak their language.
And do all people like to smalltalk or say hello to every farang they see?
Quote from the OP "Same last week met this guy that I see all the time, at the entrance, said hi he just looked at me."
I never said all people want to small talk with a farang, I was replying to your statement when you said that not everyone understands English.
