  4. What intrigues me is that.

As it appears from data from South Africa the omicron virus is showing symptoms of just the cold virus, and as someone as stated it appears 21 have died from omicron in the uk.

And 50% of admission to hospital were not omicron related but on being admitted to hospital were found to be tested positive for omicron. Any deaths are sad.

But what were the average figures of death in a country say UK. Pre covid times from flu, influenza, pneumonia during the winter seasons.

Is it worse today or was it worse pre covid times because all you hear about is covid related deaths

  5. This is not the issue  (the issue is what the foreigner has done since they have been here.)

As being the OP on the topic, The issue is, Is there a budget from the education ministry, for schools to employ a foreigner?

Just to inform. I have been here 13 years and teaching in those years at various schools. This topic always seems to pop up within conversation with other foreigners and no one has been able to give a true correct answer.

Legally, I do know for any business to employ a foreigner eg Native uk, aussie, american, canadian it is 50,000 per month but if you are from another country like Philippines the salary scales drops down to 35,000 per month

(Table of Income for Criteria 2.1(2) Annexed to Order No. 327/2557 of the Royal Thai Police Bureau dated June 30, 2014)

I am in a very similar situation as (CrunchWrapSupreme). I have experienced the same things he has mentioned. So as from reading the replies to my original question. I am still no wiser to the correct answer.

    Thanks to all who responded

  6. Hi All

Regarding the insurance issue, I have not seen or read anything regarding if you are covered by the Thai government insurance.

If you are married to a government officer, you are cover on his or her government insurance and you was/ are accidently caught being stuck outside thailand.

Would you still have to buy  insurance to get back into Thailand? Has anyone have/had any experience of this?

Are you using the TV app ?

Me too, but i don't use the app, I go through my email account for both mobile and laptop. Using the mobile way i am banned, using the laptop way is ok. Why?

  8. I visited my local!! immgrations office (83kms away) this week to do my 90 day report. Asked the lady what is the policy here for tm30. She said if go out of the province for 24hrs+ you had to report, because this is my predicament!

I live 200 metres from the border(province) I work in the neighbouring province and the local!! immigration is 65kms away from my home in the neighbouring province and it's only 3kms from place of work.

    I asked the following question.

Question: What do i do / happens If the school where i work ask me to attend a weekend camp?.

Answer You have to report. So i have to come all the way here (83kms from home) just to do 3 minute report and i have to miss half a day teaching?

    Answer Yes!

Question: As i mentioned before my place of work is only 3kms from neighbouring immigrations. why can't i do the report there?

Answer. No problem you can do the report there.

Question Oh that's good. So when i walk in there, where they have never seen me before and report. They are not going to say, you cant do it here, you have to do it in the province of your home?.

    Answer.Don't know!!

I left it at that. In all the reports on Thai visa. I have never read anything about doing a report elsewhere.(immigrations). And a round trip from Immigration to immigration is 300kms.

Looking forward to anyone ideas, suggestions, remarks.

  9. Hi all and especially ubon joe,

Can you clarify a point for me, as i have not seen my question brought up or answered on any thread.

I have a Non O visa (marriage) and for the last ten years always did the confirmation of income letter from British Embassy. As we all know this has now stopped. I have just received my renewal for another 12 months. So this year (Oct onwards) i will be either using the monthly method, to which i have started saving my bank transfer documents, or the lump sum way.

When i did my renewal, i did ask IMO, do you know what is going to happen next year. She stated that it will be lump sum only. But this seems not to be the case.

I was having a conversation recently about the monthly income way. And the person informed me, that the income had only to come from outside Thailand.

My situation is the following: As mentioned above i am on Non O, (marriage). With it being Non O (Marriage), I am allowed to work. I have a work permit. My employer pays my salary into my Thai Bank account. My salary isn't above the 40,000. minimum threshold. I do make monthly transfers from my English bank account via TW,

My question is: Can you use your income from within Thailand and also transferring some from England, to be above the 40,000 threshold OR has the 40,000 to be totally come from outside Thailand.

    Thanks for your response

The stories about photo requirements always amuse and confuse me.

I put my Marriage Extension renewal papers in to Khon Kaen immigration on 1st. November. I've never been quoted specific requirements - I just get information from places like this - so make my own interpretation and have done so for the last 9 years. They apparently want proof of a 'de facto' marriage so I give them things that show just that, along with the house & address photo - birthday celebrations, us at weddings, playing with the grandchildren, photos of us at tourist spots. What could better demonstrate a real relationship than shots of many different occasions, both mundane and special events? NEVER have I given the famous 'bedroom' shot. Photos of us around the house on one particular day prove absolutely nothing IMO, but then I'm not Thai or an IO.

Never had my photos questioned or rejected but KK Immi. seems to be among the best offices to have to deal with.

Me too, been dealing with KK office for ten years now and never had a problem with them. Only sad part now, is that they are moving to a different area of KK. And it's further for me to travel.

I assume that is the response he got when he asked what would be needed if he did not have proof of income from his embassy. That is the response that will be given until the Immigration Bureau has stated what a alternative for it is.

    Hi Ubonjoe

I had just recently applied for my extension of stay (marriage) with my last income confirmation letter. i will be picking up my extension in the middle of December.

So i ask the IO "lady" what is the procedure for next year. As the Uk, usa and the aussies are stopping the income letter and at the moment we now have 2 options. Pay lump sum into Thai bank or pay monthly into a Thai bank at the appropriate rates. I did say to her that the embassies are telling their citizen that they have 2 ways to conform and also it states the same on the Thai government website. But she stated to me that there is only 1 way and that way was lump sum way. I did question her answer, but she was adamant.

When i go in mid Dec, i will be asking for better confirmation 1 way or 2 ways as stated by thai website and embassies.

Do you have the correct official Thai Government website i can print off and show, when i go

    Thanks

KK is my office. Did they say when that goes int effect because I got my income letter notarized at the Udon Thani outreach and supposedly it's good for six months.

From my understanding, your income letter from your embassy is good for 6 month, from the date on the letter. After the 6 months is up. They informed me you can only use the lump sum method.

I am using the English translations of Police Order 327/2557 and Immigration Bureau Order 138/2557 made by Siam Translations for Thaivisa. Neither of the two uses the word "into" in clause 2.22 for the retirement extension. It could be that you confused the immigration official by asking about a requirement that does not exist.

    Hi Maestro

I am little bit confused by what you mean. First i did state, i went to apply for my extension of marriage and not retirement. The word "into" what is wrong with this word "you have to put money (lump sum 400,000 baht) "into" a bank account 3 months prior applying for extension or you have to put money (40,000 baht) "into" a bank account monthly.

  14. I've just been to IO at KK today. To re new my annual extension for marriage. I had no problems using the last embassy income letter. So i did ask " what is the procedure for using money in the bank and money going into bank monthly. The officer told me, that you can only use money in the bank( lump sum ). They will not accept payment monthly into bank accout way. I did explain it states on IO website and also told her that uk, oz and usa say we can use either ways. But she was adamant that you can only use the lump sum way
