Are you really existing in such a state of denial that you actually believe that it is just me telling it how it is and that it is not, in fact, the general consensus?
That is laughable if so.
Don't let garryjohns get to you, man... It's common knowledge he's the beta-male of the Chiang Mai forum.

A few questions. My mother and father are going to sponsor my wife to stay in the US.
The plan is that my wife, and our two kids will be staying with out parents. Does this mean that the household size will be 6? (My parents have not claimed me as a dependent in the past year, but I am currently living with them and submitted the forms with this address.) 125% of the poverty level for a household of 6 is $40,725.
My parents are retired , they get about $35k in social security, have about $15k in pensions, and receive about $20k in dividends.
That comes out to 70k. Given that this number far exceeds 40,725, should this be OK? (This might sound silly, but I am told a lot of this is up to the reviewer's discretion. ) I am not sure if they look at the pension or dividends skeptically. I also want to add the dividends are paid in both names.
Also, my parents have assets. They own their house, and have a retirement nest egg in a brokerage account. Given that it looks like their income should be ok, but it might be looked at upon skeptically, should we still go ahead and list assets and evidence of assets?
If we do proceed with the assets, a couple more questions. If a house is listed, do i list that asset on the i864 (father) and i864a (mother) ?
Also they have 3 accounts with stocks.. 1 is a joint account, 1 has just my father's name, and 1 has just my mother's name. Does the joint get listed on both, and my father's individual account only gets listed on his form, and my mom's individual account only in her name? Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi, I actually have a few questions..
First, I have asked my parents to sponsor my wife as I have been living in Thailand for the last ten years.
My father asked me if he is liable l if say my wife gets in a car accident and is at fault?
Also, although I do not currently have a job, we do own our house here, worth over $150k, and I do have a good bit of savings from an inheritance, and also have a decent potential career as a statistician. Is it possible I don't need sponsorship from my parents even though I do not have a job now?

Op, if you are the closest ine, the other golfers give your caddie 20 baht, and you do not.

Thanks everyone for the good suggestions. I've started reading a bit more, and gone on some walks in some of the nice trails in doi suthep.
I will be looking to go to the fencing club either this week or next.

On the way out to Highlands and Alpine, I saw a billboard for a new course being built called 'Mountain View' (if I remember correctly).
Does anyone have any inside info on this?

Ok, seems like a significant world event. An American journalist confuses Thailand and Taiwan, and it's a ten page thread.
I know about the ghost cities in China, what other sort of horrendous fundamentals are happening there?

I've looked in the news section, don't see anything running about the Chinese fiscal 'crisis'. Anyone have any insight into what is happening over there?

Well, Kiradech did play a bit reckless over the final match. Seems he needs to control the aggression and make more smart decisions. He was of course, half the age of Karlsson which maybe made a difference. i wonder if Kiredach moved up enough to play in USA, at the PGA, 2 weeks hence?
From Wiki: "The PGA Championship is the only major that does not explicitly grant entry to the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, although it invariably invites all of the top 100 (not just top 50) players who are not already qualified."
His OWGR is 67, so, looks like he should be playing..

Euro Tour win for the kid.

The tournament at Alpine was an Asian Tour event. This doesn't look to be the same thing, and it's also an 'Open' which I believe means people are welcome to try and qualify to enter.

Why not join the Chiang Mai Hash House Harriers? http://www.chiangmaihhh.com/ You don't need to be fit. Many just walk.
Thanks for that, I didn't realize they have a website.. It looks like they have a run just about to go off at 5pm tonight?

What hobbies did you continue to pursue while you were here?
Which hobbies did you start here, and find great support for?
Looking to try something new.

Tx. Doesn't look like I get that channel.
Lingmerth went out in a storm, wow.
-
What channels are showing it? Did a quick google and didn't come up with anything.
Any places showing it in Chiangmai?

This topic discussed in famous NY paper, not the Times.

Was at Highlands Friday, 26 June. 3pm found dozens (100s?) of buggies lined up full of Koreans/Japanese & others, eager to go. Might be cheap but how many holes would someone starting off at 4 pm get in?
It's probably uncommon for that to happen, and also, the staff at Highlands are excellent and would probably start you off somewhere else so you can play some golf uninterrupted.

Any other ideas I ought to consider (abstinence not available)?
How about trying a Kathoey?
Is Luci Thai still doing quality work?
