I am not the only one on this forum who has felt ripped off by this place , this poor guy really had it worse.
Where is the care?
Editor:On Saturday, April 28, 2007 my friend and former colleague 32 year-old Matt Gerald Hayes was struck by a truck as he rode his motorcycle in South Pattaya-a case of hit and run. Volunteer ambulance workers arrived on the scene quickly and took Matt to a well known, state-of-the-arts hospital in North Pattaya on Sukumvit Road. Upon arrival at this well advertised hospital Matt was denied treatment because it could not be ascertained that he would be able to pay his hospital bill! (he could) The volunteer ambulance men were told by staff at the hospital to take Matt to Chonburi-an hour away. On route, Matt died.He will be greatly missed by his friends, fellow teachers, family and the children he taught at BEST school. There are two questions that plague me; 1.Why was Matt denied proper treatment that could have saved his young life at this “renowned” hospital? 2. Where does the Hippocratic Oath come into play with this distinguished medical establishment? If this is how legally employed foreigners are being treated by this hospital, then this hospital’s services should be boycotted.Answers to the questions and comments are awaited.Yours truly,Steve KesslerSadly this is not the first case of this kind i have heard of at this hospital,as for ethics it seems there are little after all this isThailand and only money talks. My thoughts are with your friends family .source : pattayamail.com -

Though we do not and probably never will know exactly what happened it amazes me that people think they can have full control of a motorcycle with ,more than 2 people on board, the brakes are designed to stop the said vehicle with 2 people not more.Sad that the authorities seem unable or /and unwilling to stop this practice.Such a sad waste of lives

You guys are full of opinions but are not answering my question.
My thai partners in my company are substantial, well connected people and having transacted over a 100 land acquisitions in my day job over the past 8 years in Thailand don't presume i don't know what i am talking about and don't know my way around the land office....besides this was not my question.
I personally believe that over the longer term(3 -5 years) i will make money buying land in Hua Hin and i can afford to wait this long or longer if i need to...if you knew what you were talking about you would ask first how much land was i buying and where .....but i wasn't asking for investment advice either
My question was related to arranging finance so if there are any sensible people out there who can point me in the right direction pls rspond.
If you need to ask the question it shows you know les than you think you do

Cheap and tasteless is a little harsh! I'm in the UK and plenty of people have navel piercings. Each to their own, I say. www.bmezine.com has plenty of info about piercings and other body modifications in general. If oyu go there for a look you will be able to find out about the process and what to look for in a 'good' and safe piercer.
November Rain, as long as the piercing is done in a safe and sterile way (with a new and disposable needle, and autoclaved clamps etc) and the piercee follows the aftercare instructions, there should be minimal risk of infection.
I did not say that NovermberRain is cheap and tasteless, when i see these things i feel it looks cheap and tasteless.Where or on who do you see these items most in Thailand........... yes on young ladies that work in the "entertainment industy

the security guard heard the sound of a heavy object falling from above.
I didn't know heavy objects made much noise in free-fall.
Too many people "fall" off balconies in Pattaya.

They are the Thai version of body snatchers,at times have been known to take wallets, phones from victims

Crossy, one of the major American bike magazines tested the RE 500 in a comparison with the Suzuki GS500E, the Kawasaki Ninja 500, maybe the Suzuki 650 Savage, etc. The Royal Enfield came in dead last, and they said it was far, far worse than that in comparison to any bikes designed since.....you know, 1980.
I had a Triumph 650 twin bored out to 700, racing cams, etc., etc., in 1964. Fastest drag bike on the streets of San Antonio. Couldn't keep it running, could just barely kick it over, Lucas electrics (say no more), etc. Piece of English workmanship, a real stormer in 1957, but now it would come in dead last in a comparison with a new 500 twin, which would go endlessly before needing repair.
Crossy, if you just need a very expensive nostalgia trip, go for it (especially if your temples aren't the same color hair any more). Otherwise, I'd forget it. But I wouldn't forget sex.
My first bike in the UK was Royal Enfield Crusader ...............ahhh great fun

Former PM Thaksin Shinawatra Willing To Stand Trial In Thailand
BANGKOK, Thailand -- Ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is willing to stand trial for corruption and extrajudicial murders allegedly committed during his reign, and wants to return from self-exile, his lawyer said in an interview.
"He has no immunity. And he is prepared to come to court, no problem," Mr. Thaksin's lawyer said. "He is being prepared to answer all the charges, the best he can."

What I've seen in Thailand is that people borrow money to buy cars, telephones and other luxury goods! Financially the Thais are completely uneducated.
Financial planning is non-existent and people are not able to oversee the consequences of being debt-ridden.
Mai pen rai. Easy targets for crooked politicians, keep them borrowing and you'll be in charge!
In the West people borrow too, but the household debt ratio versus mortgage ratio is much lower than in Thailand.
Exactly what Toxin did

Porn & Pirate DVDs Found at Tuk Com
Pattaya Police Chief Pol. Col. Sutin Sappuang was informed that many copied DVDs and porn was being sold at the Tuk Com Building, South Pattaya Road, therefore sent out an undercover team to inspect the venue.
The undercover police went to the suspect shop in the evening of 2nd May and were offered catalogues of pictures for the DVDs.
When the agreement of purchase was made, the police noticed the vendor going up to the 6th floor of Tuk Com to get the products, therefore followed up, and identified themselves to make a search.
At first the police did not receive any cooperation from the owner of the shop; Miss Pensri Suksamran, but since the evidence was there – she couldn’t get away with it.
It took 3 pickup trucks to load all the DVDs back to the station together with the suspect. Reporters believe that there must have been more than 10,000 DVDs seized that day.
However questions remain from many; “what will happen to the seized DVDs”?
Well what a revelation, would you believe porn and copy Cds at Tum Com
