18 year old killed in three vehicle road accident on the Sukumvit Road.

A fatal road accident now from the Sukumvit Road on the outskirts of Pattaya. Police Sub Lieutenant Natapon from Banglamung Police Station was assigned to the case which claimed the life of Khun Sumit aged 18.

At the scene, the family of the deceased had already arrived and was told that the victim was riding along the road and he approached a stationary Bronze Toyota Tiger pick-up driven by Khun Satien aged 40 who was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash and was able to explain the crash to the Police.

He noticed in his rear view mirror that the motorbike was approaching and also saw a truck carrying a trailer beginning to move to the left of the road.

It appears that he failed to see the motorbike which slammed into the stationary pick-up and the driver was thrown from the bike and killed. The driver of the truck ran away before Police arrived and is now being sought by Police.

If and when they catch this low life he should get minimum 10 years. Not even got the guts to face the facts.

  2. I am not attacking your choice. But why would you want to do something that has become passe in the UK and has a certain 'lady of the night' image about it?

I have seen the rings for sale in Central Bangna if you intend to carry on with this idea. As to getting them inserted, no idea thank goodness.

I agree 100% looks cheap and tasteless

  3. Hi,

Ive done a lot of online reading a searching and think I've found the answer to this question but would appreciate it if someone could confirm.

I had a failed disc fusion on my back in the USA and take Vicodin ( hydrocodone) for pain. I came to BKK and went to Bumrungrad to see a doctor to fill my prescription. He was a nice fellow with passable English but had no idea what hydrocodone ( or percocet aka oxycodone as a replacement when he didn't know hydrocodone). He pulled out his medicine book and couldnt find them under either brand or generic names. i thought this very odd but he handed me the book and browsed thrugh the pain medicine section and sure enough couldn't find it listed under any name. He ended up giving me para+codeine to try as a replacement.

I go back to see him this week as a follow-up and was certain Id find some thai specific name for vicodin or percocet and everything I see seems to indicate they are not available here at all. Is this correct??? It sure seems strange to me. I know some drugs still under exclusive license have their sales restricted but i thought these were old, well known and now generic drugs.

Is there a name Im missing I can use to refer to these or is para+codeine indeed the strongest available pain killer a doctor can prescribe in BKK?

para + codeine seems awful week just to me, I can't imagine what people with cancer and very very bad chronic pain are doing if they are forced to use para + codeine ( setting aside the liver issues with the para if someone were to take many pills to try to get a stronger dose of codeine for relief).

    Thanks for any insight!

    Hi Crouton,

Sorry to hear of your pain...and I know that kind of pain. A few years back I had 2 herniated discs in my lower back and was treated at Bumrungrad. They gave me a drug called Ultraset, it is Tramadol and paracetemol. The doctor prescibed it in low doses and gradually increased it as the tramadol can give a mild high feeling. Ask your doc about it.

On another note,a friend in the UK asked me to try to find vicodin for him here and the chemist I use (who gives me pretty much anything ) said they do not have it in Thailand and said he does not carry ultracet either as it is highly controlled by the government and only available in hospitals.

My doctors' name at Bumrungrad is Sutthi and he is a GP .

Good luck and hope you find some relief.

I am not sure but check out Oxi_contin ,iuse this for pain and is very good

  4. This posting is to warn anyone even remotely thinking of getting one of those Dynasat satellite systems……DON’T!!! [at least for now].

If you are considering the English programming from Agila satellite wait until they break the code because it will only work for a couple of days at most, then you have to go back to the shop for an update.

And when and if they do get back on line, I can warn you of a vendor NOT to deal with….although others may be just as bad. My vendor just sells and installs the equipment, then you’re on your own……no more service, doesn’t return calls or keep appointments. Meanwhile he continues to sell new installations of a faulty system. I’ve seen on several occasions [while getting useless updates in his shop] him selling new units to unsuspecting customers and I wanted to warn them to save their bhatt, but didn’t want to make a scene [in his shop]. Thanks to this forum, I can warn others.

And every time I go into a superstore, there is a Dynasat demo that has ‘suckers’ waiting in line to get screwed.

I hope this post doesn’t get me in trouble with the moderators, because I’m just trying to save some other 'thaivisa brethren' before they get swindled as I did.

BE WARNED of the ethics of this vendor in Chiang Mai!!! Is there such a concept as [after sales] 'ethics' here in LOS??

PM me if you want to know the vendor that screwed me.

Brilliant you buy the dynasat to avoid paying for channels then complain about being ripped off Double standards my friend

  5. The major priority for me is to once and for all sort out our finances.

My sneaking suspicion is that Dennis Wise didn't have the full support of the squad during the season so if he is to stay he needs to bring in his own team.

We need a younger team with more pace, get rid of the prima donnas and bring in the men who want to pull on the white shirt and wear it with pride.

I must admit when looking back on the past I would say what Howard Wilkinson achieved in his early days of bringing in Gordon Strachan ( inspirational ) Vinny ( motivational ).Its certainly worth trying to emulate.

We lack a decent captain dont get me started about the last two we need a leader both on and off the park in the mould of Billy Bremner or Gordon Strachan.

Although we don't want to forget the past, we need to regain some pride in the present and make it more affordable for us to watch our football.

I'm sure when I eventually sober up I'll come up with some more potentially insightful advice.

    Then again perhaps not.

Dennis Wise was just the cheap option at the time ,which is what master bates does best

  6. So Big Sam has gone. Bit of a strange time to hand in your resignation , 2 games to go and 5th in the league. Must admit he has done a great job with Bolton , they were going no-where and he has taken them to a place in europe.

But do the bung allegations still haunt him and where is his next stop ???. My guess is Man City with Psycho taking the under 21's full time.

I would have taken him at Sunderland (as rumoured) last summer before Keane arrived, but wouldn't rock the boat now.

I think he has already been hired elsewhere. I would fancy he's off to Manchester City, unless he's off to Oldham or Stockport County!!

I'm sure he's got more sense than to join the sinking ship at Leeds.

    Your right i

n thinking that he'll end up at Man City and I reckon he'll do a good job there ( better than the <deleted> they have had lately anyway :D ).

He is a good manager at middle level clubs but any aspirations he's got about managing a big team are pie in the sky :D:D .

The question now is who will take over at Bolton and who can fill big Sams boots ???? , remember what happend to Charlton when their big man Curbishley left :o:D .

Do not rule out Newcastle being Sams next employer

The Would Be Thieving Drug Addicts

At midnight on 26th April the Pattaya police was informed by the neighbour of a house located in Soi Wat Boonkajanaram Temple, Jomtien, that two suspicious men had climbed into his neighbour’s garden and had been hiding in the bushes for over 2 hours.

When the police and volunteers arrived the men walked out. When searched, nothing illegal was found on them but when inspecting the bushes, the team found a few screwdrivers and other equipment, which appeared they were preparing to make a break-in entry, so escorted them to Dongtan Sub-station for more questioning.

Santaphol, aged 26 and Kaewprasit, aged 30, denied any wrong doing. They stated that they came to visit a friend who lives around there but couldn’t remember which house it was so entered the wrong house. They also said that they went into the bushes because they had a stomach ache and wanted to defecate there.

It seemed impossible for them to forget their friend’s house. The police queried why were they there for 2 hours and if they defecated then how come no proof was found other than this equipment the police found? The police decided to check their urine and soon discovered that both had been taking drugs. It was then when they confessed that they tried to break in to the house.

However, the police could only charge them for taking drugs since there was no other evidence or proof of a break in.

Beware: These men might do more than leave stools in your garden, they might want to break & enter!

Sounds like a load <deleted> to me :o

    800,000 Baht Stolen from Australian

The Dongtan police were informed on 23rd April by Australian Mr. David Brodtmann, aged 44 that his room at the White House Hotel had been broken into.

The police arrived at the scene at 2.45 am and met the victim and his friends. The police inspected the room to find that the thief had cleverly used a wad of tissue in the door’s strike plate to stop the bolt from locking; which made the police think that this must have been a planned robbery.

All the items stolen, money and valuables, are worth about 800,000 Baht. Mr. Brodtmann stated that earlier he and his friends went out to enjoy the night life of Pattaya and locked the door before leaving. When they returned they found the door open and the room in a mess.

At the moment the police are making more investigations with the full cooperation of hotel staff in the hope of catching the culprit.

    A cunning stunt indeed :o

  10. From the Pattaya Mail:

Danish man dies as taxi flips over

    Theerarak Sutthatiwongse

A Danish man was killed when the taxi in which he was traveling burst a tire and flipped over soon after setting out for Bangkok.

Officers from the Highway Police Khao Kheow Checkpoint and Sawang Boriboon Foundation rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident, which happened on the Bangkok-Pattaya Bypass at 4 p.m. on April 9.

In a ditch beside the road they found a green-and-yellow Toyota taxi with a Bangkok license plate. The car’s roof was caved in, and the body of the vehicle was badly damaged. Nearby lay two people, a Thai and a foreigner, both unconscious. They were immediately transferred to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.

The driver was identified as Tawee Kohkaew, age 45, of Kalasin, who had a serious head injury. The foreign passenger was identified as Klavs Dybdal, a Danish citizen. He later succumbed to severe head injuries.

Tawee stated that Dybdal had hired him to drive from South Pattaya to Bangkok. At a point on the bypass, 1 km from Ban Nawang, a tire burst. Tawee lost control of the car, which rolled over several times.

    http://www.pattayamail.com/current/news.shtml#hd1

Probably had no insurance (a mute point now), probably speeding and driving on bald tires. I would never take one to these taxi's to Bangkok (and just to save a few hundred baht). The Thai attitude to maintenance (or lack of it) is well-known. At least driving in Bangkok he would have had a chance since the speed would have been much less.

You sumise an awfull lot,how about some facts to back up your theory :o

  11. Yesterday the Pattaya Police introduced their mascot. ( have attached a pic ) They want to give the mascot a name :o and are inviting members of the public to send in names.

  13. We were in Pattaya a couple of days ago and drove past this place. We had wondered where the lasers were coming from, now we know. Have you or anyone you know been there. It seems pretty pricey (1200B without buffet 1400B including buffet) and no indication of whether there is a Thai price or not. So, would you take your children there. I doubt it is aimed at the Thai on the street, there were a lot of coaches when we drove past.

    Thanks in advance

    Leisurely

I went with my wife ,thai 400 baht farang 1200 baht.I told them to stick it walked away

    Accident on Jomtien Beach Road

A speeding pickup truck collided with another truck on Jomtien Beach Road resulting in an accident.

On 4th April the Dongtan police were informed of this accident, so quickly radioed the Sawang Rescue Team to ask for assistance to take the injured to the hospital before going to the scene.

At the scene the team found the damaged Isuzu and Mitsubishi pickups parked beside the road. Witnesses stated that the driver of the speeding Mitsubishi took his wife on a motorbike taxi to the hospital since she bounced out of the truck and was seriously injured in the collision. The witnesses also stated that both husband and wife seemed drunk.

The owner of the Isuzu truck was waiting for the police. He said that he works at a restaurant not far from the scene and parks his truck here every day while he works. When he heard the loud crash he ran out to find that it was his truck that was hit.

In the meantime, their truck was seized and the police are waiting for the couple to give their statements after they return from the hospital.

    Another gem :o
