Have tried it twice, both times I have got the same answer that you have to change at first o THB to transfer out of Thailand.
This is exactly what I would like to avoid: if I have Euro I would like to send them directly, not to change them to Baht and change back to Euro

You posted in a wrong forum, to ger more answers better to post in : Thailand Visa and Immigration forum > Thai Visa, Residency and Work Permits

Thanks, a few years ago I contacted Siam Commercial Bank but they told me that to get back my dollars or euros they would first have to change them into baht and then back into dollars or euros, which involves a double currency exchange.....

Is there any thai bank where you can open a foreign currency account and also use that account to transfer money (in that currency) to other countries, without having to first change it into baht and then exchange it back for into the original currency?

Since the Swiss pension, unless it is a state pension, is taxable in Thailand, I would strongly suggest you do the calculations and check if your friend has to pay anything.
This is to avoid possible future problems, an official who says that the tax would be "very small" and that "other things that could be deducted are likely higher", only shows his superficiality and incompetenceWrong.....This guy sounds right on the money to me...
Redwood1, could you please be so kind to explain me what I did write "wrong" ?
I cannot understand but would like to know what is my mistake. -

It would be interesting to know how the investigations will proceed and what sanctions will be applied to a case like this, where miraculously, despite an absurd speed, there were no victims.
Unless, of course, as often happens around here, this poor driver too had the usual brake failure.......

Don't get discouraged, do you remember the officer sitting in the old room at the corner desk?
He once kicked me out throwing away my passport because I made a mistake on a form, without telling me what my mistake was.
And the other guy in uniform who was hanging around the people in line "being funny" ?
Now these things don't happen anymore, at least I hope...
Next year try with the reservation, hoping that this system, which strangely almost no one uses, remains in force -
This is the Immigration site :
http://www.phuketimmigration.go.th/index.phpAnd this is the page to book the appointment:
https://outlook.office365.com/book/[email protected]/The day before the appointment Immigration even sent me a reminder email....
When the guy came out to give the numbers before opening, he did not give me any number and said : just present you at your booked time !

I have not had such a bad experience as yours.
I had booked the appointment at 8.30 via the web and (to my surprise......) they immediately let me go through the first check, where young, very kind and efficient guys work.
Traditional trip to the photocopies for a copy of the marriage certificate and a Google map printout with the coordinates (on the copy I had presented I had written the coordinates by hand, this is not good.....)
Then the second check, and finally passing in front of the officer, not so friendly but not rude either, very precise and correct.
I took advantage of the opportunity to entrust them with the reentry paperwork (+700 baht for a multiple, for the service) and after less than an hour I was out.
The only thing I don't like about the new system is having to wait packed in that small crowded room with air conditioning. Waiting outside under the shelter, on the benches, was certainly more pleasant.
But everyone has their own personal experience, maybe next year for me it will be worse :-)--

Since I renewed the extension at Phuket Immigration today, I answer to myself:
For the renewal of the extension for the dependent partner, in the case of foreign couples, photographs inside the house are not necessary but only the usual photo of the couple outside, with visible house number.-

I was about to type....that the friend could ask immigration if it's possible to do first extension based on retirement and change to dependant in second year.
Could be a good idea, but I think he would not like to put other 800k in the bank....
How long has this non o dependent that can be requested abroad existed? I didn't know about it, and in 2021 I did without it

Yes
Does it exist now a non O dependent visa for 90 days that can be obtained abroad ?
In the past, me and my wife came here with two non O retirement and at the first extension we got one extension as "retirement" and the second one as "dependent" -
A friend of mine is in Thailand with annual extension based on a non O retirement visa.
Now his wife has arrived from Europe with a non O retirement visa too (obtained abroad) , and they went to Phuket Immigration to ask a "dependent" extension for the wife.
At Immigration they have been told that to get the "dependent" extension she should have entered the country with a non O "dependent" visa and not with a non O "retirement"
Does what they told her make any sense? -

I sent bank statements signed by the bank. Also attached receipt of already paid taxes.
How did you send this document?
During the online filing I do not see the possibility to attach documents.-

I have been told that in Phuket, for the annual extension based on non-O- retirement dependent for the foreign partner, in addition to the well-known picture of the happy couple at the entrance of the house, now 3 more photographs of the couple inside the house are required.
Has anyone had recent experience, in Phuket, on this topic? -

Is there a new version - new link - for TM30 whereby you can get the receipt format shown above on a desktop -not the phone app? If so where do you click to get this receipt in pdf format?
Go to the page with the list of the last notifications, expand the line with the name (there is a small lens symbol), at the right bottom of the new page there is the command "export". -
Yes, you'll think about it next year

My experience (at Phuket Immigration):
- Stamps trasferred with no problem and no cost, they only asked me a complete copy of old passport and first page of the new one.
- 90 days online did not work, had to do it in person at the drive in counter, five minutes.
- I asked about TM30, after consultation they said me that it was better a new one, and I did it online.- Registration for online services (90 days and TM30) unchanged

The smartest person, who has always helped me with my taxes, is a middle-aged man who is in the row of desks that you find in front of you when you enter, in the desk furthest to the left.
It seems that he is the one who usually follows the foreigners, try contacting him.I had the TIN for ten years before having to file my first tax return, I do not believe that it is necessary to pay taxes before having a TIN.....

HI, I have recently renewed my UK passport. My visa is a non O based on retirement. Can I wait until my next renewal to transfer my renewal stamp to my new passport.
You could have some problem if, before your next renewal, you have a 90 days notification.
My 90 days online has been rejected because of a new passport number not yet registered in their file.

In Phuket I use a rental contract between the company that owns the house and myself.
The contract is signed by my wife as the director of the company and by me as the tenant.
It is the same rental contract that I use for the annual balance of the company. -
My technique is slightly different: baguette stored in the freezer, 30 seconds in the microwave and 5 minutes in the oven at 150 degrees, perfect as if freshly baked!
In the freezer I always keep a good supply of baguettes, I am in Nai Harn and for me the best are those from Chez Nous, near the lagoon.

Can I book a flight before I get my new passport?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Last January a booked an international flight with Thai Airways using my passport valid at that time.
After one week I received my new passport and updated my passport data on the Thai internet site (Changes to passenger information).
No cost and no need to travel with two passeports.
