  1. The man liked to talk. He'd also been on the payroll of some rather "serious people" (read non Thai) for a number of years. People who have a history of getting rid of you once you've served your purpose. Pretty good shot no, if taken from a high floor of the Dusit? Fading light, target encircled by reporters etc. I'm sure the camera lights would have helped a tad....

This Ehrlich report is from 2 days before the assassination.

  2. Deputy Democrat leader Thaworn Senneam said the agreement has
contributed to acknowledgements in the international community and
Islamic countries that insurgent movements exist in Thailand.

Yeah SHHHHHHH, no one's noticed what's been going on for the past 9 years.

So funny when Thai politicians think the rest of the world is as easily fobbed off as their own country.

  3. Thanks for everyones continued intrest. Yes people have gone quiet, nothing sinister about that. At first friends of Oswald were concerned about righting the wrongs being said about him in the press and to some extent here. Things are now in the hands of the families lawyers. Oswalds brother will be making a formal application for custody in person by the end of the month.. Things are'nt going to happen quickly TIT and all that. Getting the the boy into Australia will also have it's own complications. Again thanks for everyones genuine concern and I'll update here when new information is at hand. Rest assured that Oswald's many friends here in BKK will see this thing through to it's righfull end. Cheers

  4. Good concept Jim, and lets see how we go. A big turn out during trial has already been talked about amongst Oswalds cricket mates. All of Oswalds family will be here by tomorrow morning and they will be giving a statement to the press tomorrow afternoon. Keep your eyes open for that. Thanks for the positive support.

  5. Fellas what we're seeing is evidently a quirk of Thai law, Don't be to concerned about it. We all know she was driving the car and more than likely closed the tailgate on her idiot armed son. I also recall directly from Oswald some of the crazy shit she did in court during the custody case; that we all know Ozzie won. Crazy shit im not going into, but got her expelled from the court. Crazy shit which is a part of court records. There is a very large and loving extended family waiting for little Pun, rest assured.

  6. Responding to the crisis, Bangkok Governor Sukhumband Paribatra has promised to quickly find new places for the refugees to drink, carouse, and feel unthreatened by anything new, with sois 22 and 9 being vetted as prime candidates.

Hope he can build a giant tunnel connecting Sukh 22 to Cowboy and Nana. rolleyes.gif

They already did that mate. They called it the MRT, I've only ever known it as the Go-Go Express. Very conveniently linking The Pong and the Boy!!

  7. Obviously the statements about Oswald hitting anyone are complete bald faced lies.

With due respect, nothing is "obvious" at this point. What goes or went on behind closed doors is not known to any of us here...no matter how much we think we may have known the deceased.

We'll see if any evidence of this alleged abuse can be produced -- not that it will change the fact that someone committed a premeditated murder that was clearly not in self-defense.

'Obvious' in that all that truly knew Oswald, knew the character of the man. A gentle, humble and caring man with INTEGRITY as many posters have refered to. He would not verbally abuse, let alone mishandle someone. So if some people haven't met another individual like that in their lives, or worse, would even doubt the character of their own close friends, i doubt they have any respect for themselves... feel sorry for ya

I am thankful to know lots of people as wonderful as you describe.

I never had the good fortune to meet Oswald, but I'll take your comments about him as the gospel truth if it will make you feel better.

    Can you name two?

  8. Everyone can imagine how something like this effects those who actually know the people concerned. Anyone who's been here for any period of time and reads this and other media has a fair idea about how things often turn out. Hence everyone is often sceptical of just outcomes. In this case even though all of us who knew Oswald are hurting there is a certain sense of relief that at least it seems Ossies family don't have to go through an ongoing horror story that any thai watcher could rattle of a dozen in under 20 seconds. That being said, I think in the future when posts concerning things like expat deaths and given this is an expat forum Queensbury rules should apply. Of course at some point the victims family and friends are going to find their way here. As someone said pages ago, imagine if it was your kith and kin. As has been noted this site helped immensely in identifying Oswald. The next time, we know it will happen, something similar happens lets try to be helpful and supportive during peoples worst moments and not degenerate things. Come on there are so many other links here to get your rocks off on! I mean NASA using a weather thingy to spy on the Kingdom is comedy gold! Not even Mel Brooks could come up with such a thing. Cheers.

  9. About time Ford Australia started exporting! Important thing to remember about the Territory is it's based on the Falcon sedan so it handles and rides like a car and not a tractor like most similar vehicles here. The Falcon should also be for sale here, perhaps it's new 2l turbo is still too big for here. Again why they didn't also put the 2.7 deseal in the Falcon only god and Henry Ford would know????? I'm sure Ford Thailand could sell a number of G6E Falcons with the deseal donk.

  10. I'm shocked by the tone of many of these posts. I'm assuming many people posting are not Australian and have not been closely following what's been happening with the worlds oldest airline in recent years. Many posters are just coming out with the usual union bashing line, Stuff the unions why should you be paid western wages in a western country when Somchai can do the same job cheaper in bkk. After all it's all about shareholder profits??? This is a company that just reported a profit of 1billion Aus, about 1.2 bil in US!! And the ceo just gave himself a 3mill us pay rise, yesterday...

Rain Man was right, Qantas have never lost a life in the jet age. The last loss happened in PNG in 1951. Anyone who knows anything about aviation knows there are no more dangerous skies in the world even today!! The other losses of life were Catalena flying boats shot out of the air by Japs in WW2. not exactly the fault of the carrier! Whats at stake here is this proud record of the airline which until a decade ago was a "National Carrier". Yes the majority of hostess aren't as hot as the Thai hostesses, who make up about 5o% of the BKK to Aus routes, but I feel a lot safer with an Aussie pilot at the wheel instead of Somchai. I also prefer Bruce checking out the plane than Nuttsack. This is what the fight is about. Yes Qants have had mechanical problems lately, Rolls Royce to blame for the most famous but did anyone die? No, because they were flown by highly trained proud Qantas pilots. During the engine falling apart incedent out of f Sing there were 2 inspector Captains on board as well. Those guys had over 100 warning lights going off at once but they controlled the situation at got everyone to ground safely. Anyone who's lived in SEA for any period of time knows about numerous pilot error disasters, One 2 Fall in Samui and Jakarta when they came in to land with all the warning lights saying abort!!!

The airline is making a profit when many others are not. All Australians , though they may not admit it for ideological reason, feel safer flying Qantas than Thai, Ethihad or who ever. Why, highly trained crews who care about what they do and are not going to cut corners. Like I said earlier all the regulars who quickly bag Thai standards for just about everything want to intrust 90 years of excellence and the Worlds No1 safety record to a bloke who earns 6,000 baht a month to maintain the planes???

I think it was in the 'Big Mango' novel where a Thai diplomat says he never flies with Thai because the pilots get their jobs the same way everyone in Thailand gets their job!!!!!

This goes a lot further than union bashing for it's sake. But hey maybe it's time to take it back anyways!!!!

  11. As an old campaigner this reminds me of the great Nana war of 01 ( not to be confused with the "Great Opium war of 67") when the "girls(re, RTA) of Carousal Bar took on the invading force of the "others" from the revamped (no pun intended) Cascade Bar. Oh brothers it was sharpened stileotos at no passes!!!!!

What do our Khmer brothers, the fathers of our Bootirum beauties, have to gain from any of this nonsense????

On a day when "The papers" lead with opinions saying all this talk of coupes ( yes hot 2 door cars) is null and void because there's no reason for it. Bugger me another skirmish.

For all these "long term" observerse who comment on the capability of border dualists, do a bit of reasearch about Chavilits logging war of 88, and the 20,000 odd border "volunters" who were unacounted for at the end.

Jesus have you forgoten hill 160 or whatever it was, held by the Karen for 2 weeks ,7 kms inside Thailand for the loss of over 150 thais not 5 years ago??????

    That really was in Thailand..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
